“I have been going here eating in person and doing take out for at least 15 years. In all those years I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the service to match. The prices have barely changed in all this time with portions being consistent and great value. Two can easily eat here for $30 or less leaving full and happy. Highly recommended to anyone.“

“Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. “In my humble opinion this is the best sushi in downtown Portland. Cute little family owned shop, smallest restaurant from I've ever seen. The sushi is always perfect and they have the best and honestly the correct prices for their food.

They offer two combo deals that have a solid mix of sushi. One for $11 and one for $12.

I have never had a bad experience here and when I think about eating sushi this is the place I choose to go to. Absolutely worth it.“

“Always so kind and remember us!! There's never a wait to sit, even during happy hour we always find at least two chairs at the bar. I love being able to grab all of my favorite familiar sushi rolls while still trying new ones! I don't think there's a fee for not finishing a plate which I appreciate. Staff is super attentive and there is a small variety of non sushi items, plus a hibachi menu for the friend that doesn't like sushi!!“

My fiance and I drove to Portland for the day and made the last minute decision to try out a sushi place. Hana Sushi and Izakaya Pearl turned out to be a lovely surprise.

Food was quick and fun as it was distributed on a conveyor belt. We did also order from the menu (a fried tuna roll) which was also fantastic.

For drinks we got the Vietnamese Iced Coffee, one with brown sugar pearls, coconut milk and Oreos and the other with just oat milk and Oreos. The drink customization was an awesome surprise--definitely order a drink from them as it will not disappoint!

We will definitely come again if we are ever in the Portland area.“

“This is a food cart in a pod downtown. There are no tables. For those who don’t expect that it could be off putting. Having said that, get this food and take it somewhere cozy and dig in! Our Sweet Chili Shrimp and Deep Fried California rolls were so fresh and balanced and perfect. I wish I took a picture first. It’s too late. The food was too good. Next time.“

“My husband and I wanted to venture out and check out a new sushi spot. We tend to always visit the same place in Vancouver and chose to try something in Portland. I came across this restaurant on Yelp and saw it had great reviews so we thought we’d make our way out. It’s located off of 122nd and it’s next to a little corner store market. Very easy to miss and parking lot is very small. We were the only ones in there when we walked in. An Asian male greeted us right away and allowed us to pick any table to sit at. He brought over waters and played and utensils while we looked over the menu. There was quite a bit of options for the sushi and bento dishes, as well as the other Chinese food options. We order chicken gyoza, katsu chicken (which came with miso soup), 2 different sushi rolls and the chicken lo mein. Everything tasted fresh and the food items were all delicious. My husband loved all the dishes and rated everything a 5-star. The service was great and the restaurant was small and clean. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.“

Bamboo sushi is good but so expensive with long wait times. We like Yoko’s but also… long wait times.
