“Today was my second visit here, after having finally stopped in a couple weeks ago. This place is nothing short of AWESOME! It's bright and happy, with wonderful colors and totally unique tabletops--created by the owners! They have done most everything themselves, a true accomplishment and a reason to be proud! The employees are unfailingly friendly and helpful! The owners have hired handicapped individuals, and today I was fortunate to see the owner teaching one such an employee a new skill, and she was so patient and very encouraging, helping this young woman to catch on quickly and feel good about herself. You don't see an employer working to build up employees that way very often. They have an amazing assortment of handmade ice cream, some flavors you'd expect and some you wouldn't. Truth be told, I've yet to try the ice cream, as both times I've been here, it's been morning and I was on a quest for coffee, but I sure do plan to get around to it! Now, the pastries. Ah, the PASTRIES! Beautiful huge cookies with a great variety, to start. And muffins and danish, and turnovers, oh my! On my first visit, I had a wonderful cherry danish, and this time I opted for a cranberry chocolate chip muffin that turned out to be nothing short of fabulous!! SO fabulous, in fact, that I got half a dozen to go, to share with friends this afternoon. (Although, truth be told, I'm making a good argument to myself to keep them all...!) I got a plain old coffee, although they also do a bunch of other coffee house-type specialty beverages for those who prefer those. The coffee was great, not horribly strong but with plenty of body and flavor. The coffee and muffin made my day. And today, I learned from talking to the owner that they have live bluegrass music on Fridays around 6pm. AND I found out that they also do pies, so, YAY! They're also incredibly accommodating, as she told me that with a few hours notice, they'll create pretty much any custom item you want! Doesn't get any better than that, right? Okay, those of you out there who have read my reviews before know that I can write good reviews for good places. This time, though, I'm going to add this: Cookie Cookie absolutely DESERVES your business! This is a business that gives back in a number of ways, and they deserve your support. “That is the best ice cream I have ever had in town! Antney's Ice Cream is undescribable!!!! They are killing it with flavor, friendly staff and their changing menu. “I ordered a chocolate chip cookie because I feel like you can judge a place by something classic like chocolate chip. The cookie was excellent and had a ton of chocolate chips throughout and on top. The cannoli cookie was great and came chilled. It had a cream filling that was sweet but not too sugary. The cookies were good but they are pricey. We spent $10 on two cookies. It's definitely a place to get a special treat but not an every day thing. They also had self service kiosks which I love!“

Great coffee and food, and MUCH more affordable than expected. I parked in one of the dedicated for spots for free, then got a 12oz drip coffee with a delicious breakfast sandwich, all for less than $6. Can't wait to try out more on their menu! To top it off, the WiFi is strong for working or studying, and there are clean restrooms on-site. Happy I discovered this place!Parking: A few free spots are located next to the shop. Street parking is free in the permit parking zones according to the hours on the signs. Otherwise, paid parking can be found in the area.“

“This is by far my favorite ice creamery around. They are a tad more expensive but so so so worth it. Even when uber delivered for them they pack the ice cream with such care making sure in case the driver has other stops your ice cream does not melt they put ice bags with it. We mistakenly thought the store was open an hour later than it was - as we thought we were entering the store a hour and 15 minutes prior to close, we were actually entering 15 minutes before the store closed. Staying open year round with the option to pick up dinner from Salt N Pepper at the same location is a welcome change. I tried to time it so that we could try the Jake Shake for half price since Jake Guentzel is always scoring goals. It worked out well and we were able to give them a try. This shake is a chocolate shake with hot fudge, crushed cookies & cream, and brownies, topped with whipped cream and chocolate #59. Sounds awesome right?! Well it was, for the most part. My only complaint is that the crushed cookies were not crushed enough, so they ended up just sinking to the bottom and were not really a part of the shake. Kinda disappointing but fortunately they have plenty of other shakes and chocolates to choose from so you are likely to find something that hits the spot. The staff was friendly and they have a bunch of locations scattered throughout the city so you can easily satisfy your sweet tooth.“

We won't be coming back because we weren't blown away by what we had and we can get similar shakes from local ice cream shops that aren't part of a chain. I'm a big believer that if a chain can do it better, shop/eat/drink there but if they can't, don't. This is one chain I honestly don't see surviving at this price point.“

“The ice cream quality and taste was very good. Location although on a busy road is a bit under the radar. Location is an order at the window style place. In a small plaza with other stores but no other major corporate draws I remember seeing. Bruster's is probably the best known business name in this shopping plaza area .They do a decent business from what I can tell. I'm sure there are busier times to stop but I haven't seen it super busy, at least the few times I've been here. I stopped here the last time with my mother who wanted a hot fudge sundae. I ordered a small waffle cone with 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream. The quantity was very good! Was a pretty large amount of ice cream for a small. I was glad I ordered this size. Mom's sundae was huge I thought! All in all a nice ice cream experience. ??“

“We went on March 8 for the last day of Jake’s Shakes, and they were absolutely slammed with people. Despite this, everyone was still super friendly and the shakes were quick and delicious. We really appreciated how hard all the employees were working to serve everyone despite being short-staffed due to spring break. We also had a lovely conversation with the manager about all things Pittsburgh sports. Whole experience reminded me what I love about Pittsburgh: we all come together for the little things that matter.“

“My husband and I went to Bruster’s today, in the hopes of being able to have a gender reveal cake created quickly for us. Although the cake we wanted could have taken a day or two, Erinn saw how excited we were and was able to create a custom cake for us same day!! Erinn had our baby’s gender in a concealed envelope and did an amazing job at ensuring we never knew the gender until we cut the cake. The cake tasted amazing and was beautiful inside and out. We couldn’t be more pleased with choosing Bruster’s for our gender reveal!!!“
“Convenient location near the Pitt campus. It basically feels the same as the other location nearby at Squirrel Hill. It's a simple counter service place and you just order at the window. You can sample as many flavors as you like and the servers are really nice. There isn't any seating nearby so I just ate my dessert while walking. This time I tried the chocolate custard. The chocolate flavor was quite strong. I think I prefer vanilla because you can taste the creamy milk flavor a lot better. I also got a cup of Italian ice with one of their rotating flavors. I don't remember the full name, but it has the word Ocean in it. It's supposed to be a mix of a whole bunch of summer fruit flavors, though watermelon stood out the most. So refreshing for a hot day! There's also edible glitter which becomes more obvious as some of the ice melts away. The large cup is really huge and was quite hard for even two of us to finish.“
