“This is a special place. Liege waffles are very different than anything I've ever had. They are made from a yeast dough, with caramelized brown sugar inside, smallish, and served warm in a napkin so that you can take it with you while window shopping. Please note: these are not meant to be served with ice cream on top. The ice cream and waffles are both very good by themselves. The owner only serves them together because people ask for that, but I think they ask for it because they think that's how it's meant to be served. (At least, that's what we thought!)“

“Even though I’ve lived somewhat close to Al's I never had a chance to try it until the end of last summer when I tried one of their tornados. I dreamt about another one throughout the whole winter until I was able to enjoy another one the other day now that they’re reopened for the season. HANDS DOWN the best ice cream treat you will get your hands on. Most icecream places seem to skimp on toppings/candy etc..NOT Al’s!!! They are LOADED and delicious and just as good the next day (if you can’t finish the day of lol). I will forever be hooked on Al’s!!! IMO, they’re the best ❤️“

“There’s nothing like discovering a new ice cream shop when you travel. I love trying out local ice cream wherever I go and Millie‘s homemade ice cream definitely did not disappoint.
These ice cream flavors were some of the richest, most decadent I have ever experienced and that is coming from an ice cream aficionado.
After dinner, we walked to Millie‘s from our Airbnb and after sampling many different flavors, I finally settled upon the backyard s’mores and the brownie batter. Both flavors absolutely stuck true to their names and packed a punch.
I think I preferred the backyard s’mores just slightly because the brownie batter was SO decadent and SO rich it almost was too much. The keyword there being “almost”.
So if you are looking for some smooth, creamy, delicious ice cream in the Lawrenceville area, come check out Millie’s.“

“Grew up getting snow cones here with my family. Revisiting it after 20 years and its still as good as i remember from my childhood. They bring in the large blocks of ice and shave the ice on the spot, very old school and nostalgic. Worth a stop for a sweet treat if you are in the area!“

“I got a waffle cone dipped in chocolate and sprinkles with chocolate chip ice cream. The cone was $7 but the best ice cream I've had. A pint of ice cream was also $7. Even though we were the only customers I felt rushed. It was my first time there and they do have alot of goodies. I can't wait to go back!“

“Stopped in for ice cream in Squirrel Hill after a great dinner at Amazing Dumplings. We ordered custard and an Italian ice and they were both fabulous. “I suppose this place needs another 5 star rating...either way they deserve it. Come early in the day (say 3-430) to beat evening rush. A history of the place is on the back wall as you wait or after you get your ice cream. Parking is available. They serve arctic swirls which are amazing (think a Blizzard but better). Pages is another classic must when you visit Pittsburgh.“
“They are really great! The soft serve is good. The staff are friendly and seem happy to be there. They are always happy to put my cones in cups so I can get them home. I keep forgetting to put some plastic cups in my car to save them the expense. The prices are pretty good. 2 cones under 10 bucks. I always tip so it's a bit more for me. Just be careful what size you order! The small cones I get are VERY generously proportioned. And I love to be able to spend my money in my neighborhood. Everyone should support their local small businesses else tomorrow they may not be there. Thanks for reading and go get some ice cream! Lol!“

“I don’t like to leave bad reviews. Especially because my customer server from Nate was amazing however, while I was waiting the other shift lead I think Cailie? Was training a young kid on how to make cookie sandwiches. He was clearly brand new and she couldn’t have been more annoyed by his lack of knowledge. I heard her say things like “haven’t you make this before” or “well you have 2 cookies so what do you think”
Laugh and roll her eyes and at one moment look at me like I was gonna chime in with her public humiliation of this kid. He was so embarrassed. With my background in restaurants and training this is an individual who shouldn’t be training at all. I hope this young man doesn’t quit because of her poor leadership.
Hats off to Nate tho for his professionalism. As I was leaving, after cailie ran off in the back, the trainee asked for Nate’s help and he politely went to help him. Nate needs a raise!! What a great kid!!“

“Last week a group of us went for ice cream after the 4th/5th grade Band concert at Mellon. The ice cream was delicious (as usual) and the workers were polite, fast and efficient. The boy who helped us was so patient with my younger son who kept adding toppings to his order. lol. I also noticed the shop was newly repainted and added some really nice new electronic signs. We love Betsy’s!“
