“This is a special place. Liege waffles are very different than anything I've ever had. They are made from a yeast dough, with caramelized brown sugar inside, smallish, and served warm in a napkin so that you can take it with you while window shopping. Please note: these are not meant to be served with ice cream on top. The ice cream and waffles are both very good by themselves. The owner only serves them together because people ask for that, but I think they ask for it because they think that's how it's meant to be served. (At least, that's what we thought!)“

“My wife and kids (9 + 5) stopped in a couple of times on our recent vacation to Pittsburgh. Millie's was busy but moved quickly, and the options were plentiful. Everyone enjoyed what they got... well, my wife got a Shirley Temple and didn't enjoy it but I ate it, so it was enjoyed. Very comfortable and family-friendly environment. Or just a nice place to hang out on the sidewalk and have an ice cream.“

“Everything in the city is overpriced… EXCEPT this spot!! I got a full cup with tons of toppings and it was well under $10. Speaking of toppings, they had fresh and juicy fruit alongside plenty of other sweets or crunches. The place is small, with around 8 froyo machines, but the flavors are delicious and it works wonderfully. Don’t walk, run for froyo here!!“

“It is rated one of Pittsburgh's top ice creameries. I must concur. They have a very large selection of goodies to choose from. It is in a good location but it is a little hard to get in and out of. So be careful. Ice cream with cookies was excellent. I got the raspberry syrup with cheesecake. It was way too sweet for me. But the amount you get is great. It was well worth the price. I was a little bummed. They do not have picnic tables. All in all, it was a great place to go for a dessert. 🙂“

“We discovered this place as we were walking in New Ken for the first time seeing what kinds of stores they had. We decided to come in the Lucky Duck, because it’s summer so why not have ice cream before noon . The moment you walk in the store you feel like a kid again with all the different kinds of candy to pick from and the smell of the fresh baked waffle cones . As soon as we walked in we were greeted! They have penn state creamery ice cream and I have never had that before so I orders the Death by Chocolate. Best ice cream I ever had ! The price is great for the amount of ice cream you get !“

“Stopped in for ice cream in Squirrel Hill after a great dinner at Amazing Dumplings. We ordered custard and an Italian ice and they were both fabulous. “Yummy! While on our June summer road trip with our kids, we were in the mood for something sweet and decided to try out The Meadows for their famous custard. We were not disappointed! The building is very welcoming from the outside. All painted with ice cream cones and Adirondack chairs sitting around. In the front, you have tables where you can sit outside and enjoy the air. Inside you have tables and chairs in a brightly painted, cheerful room. There is also a life-size connect 4 game where the kids can play. My son and I enjoyed a game while eating our custard. It was a busy day, but the workers did great. They were very friendly. We all went for the original vanilla and we’re very impressed. I loved my waffle cone! It was a very hot day and these definitely hit the spot! Highly recommend! Good for kids! Boosters and high chairs available. *Wheelchair accessible entrance, seating, parking lot and restroom. I absolutely love that you can custom your “level” of matcha.
I got a level 2 - iced banana pudding matcha
It was so good! Perfect flavor of matcha to sweetener ratio!
We also got a level 2 iced strawberry oat matcha!
The fresh strawberry puree was wonderful!

“I check the weekly offerings and try to plan a trip when something sounds appealing. I will say that I have enjoyed 95% of the ones I tried. You can't go wrong with the semi-sweet chocolate chip. The pineapple upside down cake was delicious. The orange creamsicle flavor was spot on. They recently had a peanut butter crisp cookie featuring Butterfinger. It tasted like the candy bar in cookie form.“
