“It was Pi-Day (3.14) so I had to go see what Down North Pizza had for me. A lamb sausage w/ lemon ricotta, za’tar, and a garlic honey drizzle. I don’t even eat meat on a regular, but this just sounded too good to pass up.

It was yummy!

I ordered online for pickup and received text updates on my order. Best part the order was done when it was estimated to be ready.

“Such great food! Crispy, juicy, flavorful… Everything you would want in chicken. And the honey glaze is just the cherry on top. We ordered the rocky’s hot sauce and fried chicken combo meal with original hot sauce and the garlic. We also ordered the Nashville tater tots, every sauce on the menu, and banana pudding. The chicken is just genuinely so good. It melted in your mouth and fell right off the bone. All the sauces were very good and had a home made feel and taste. The tater tots were really good, they had spicy but flavorful seasoning. The banana pudding was so good it was the perfect texture and taste. The service was so amazing, the women who took our order was so sweet and kind. The food was presented neatly and the order was put together with care. Our only complaint about our experience was that there is no indoor seating. The location also only has street parking so you almost have to plan ahead before going. Overall we would go again and again for that great chicken!“

“A home away from home for Commanders fans living in Philadelphia. Old Bay is featured heavily on the menu, as it should be. They easily accommodated our walk in party of 14 and put up with us playing "Hail To The Redskins" on the jukebox repeatedly.

“Yesterday we dined at Tandoori Pizza and were very very happy. We found the best pizza place of Philly. We tried tandoori and achari wings, garlic sticks, chicken curry/tandoori and chocolate chip cookies. Everything was out of the world. Never had desi pizza, wings this tasty. pizza was rich and flavorful. The taste was outstanding, the ambiance was welcoming, and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend Tandoori Pizza for a memorable dining experience.“

“The negatives out of the way:
- The counter person could use some training (I called to place an order and was told to place one onine?)
- If you order the peach wontons, get them without whipped cream...not sure why a takeout place is topping dessert with something that doesn't travel but they were still tasty when soggy.
- Also the crab rangoons are not good. It mostly tasted like old bay mush inside a wrapper.

However, the General Roscoe's chicken, soul and collard green eggrolls, and especially the oxtail lo mein are more than enough to get this to an easy 4 stars.

- I was expecting to see where the line of "east meets west" flavors collide, but the General Roscoe's chicken became something else entirely, in a good way.
- The egg rolls were perfect and the wraps they use are different and have a great texture.
- The Oxtail Lo Mein is the star of the show. Super flavorful and you can really taste how long the oxtail was cooked. This is an immensely rich dish in all the right ways and I will be back with anyone who will listen to me to have it again.“

“The staff is always super nice and has a good attitude with great customer service. The food always comes out hot and fresh and you can even watch them cook it. Very cheap for what you are getting. Yesterday not so much, they were hot but not fresh, they tasted like they were sitting under a hot lamp. Second time a little hard and a little dried out. I drove into the City just to come here .. I didn't pre-order. Both times I got fried rice both times the rice was meh.. it's not a traditional fried rice. It's more like a rice medley. The prices are affordable for sure“

“I can't tell you how refreshing it is to find a place that is both excellent and inexpensive. For $15 you can get two chicken sandwiches and a good amount of fries. Many other places charge $15 for a single sandwich.But not only is it inexpensive, it is delicious. We've been several times now, and the chicken is always freshly fried and cooked to perfection with the perfect balance of jucieness and crispyness. “This is one of my favorite quick or fast food places to eat despite the occasionally solicitation of the poor and homeless in the area.
The operators are always patient and tolerant.
My favorite is the fish being pescatarian now and the fries are great too.
The bathroom although tidy, well supplied and not stinking, is dingy in there which I sometime correlate to the food but so far, so good.
This will remain my favorite spot to go and get fried fish and the cost is not that bad either.“

“The food here is really good. I had fried chicken wings. They were literally the best wings I've had in a long time. They came out so hot. My group enjoyed their food. We had a lot of stuff and everyone said everything was really good. The only thing someone in my group was disappointed with was the buffalo dip.. they wanted more. Definitely will be going back.

Perfectly fried crinkle cut fries (my fav). Also got the salmon cheesesteak egg roll and it was delicious I just wish it had a dip like some spicy ketchup or something but it was juicy and seasoned. Above all else the owners are black and super friendly ppl. Definitely will be back for more. Oh and it was about $16 for everything very affordable unlike these pizza places charging $15 for a dry ass cheesesteak with over cooked meat.“

“Food is good but the guy who answers the phone is rude. Maybe get someone to specifically answer the phones who's pleasant. I ordered Uber eats and wanted to change something on my order but the app doesn't give you the option so I called as soon as I placed the order. The guy had me on hold for 5 mins and when he finally got back I told him what I wanted to change he proceeded to tell me I called too late but I didn't you had me on hold as soon as I called! He changed it but his attitude wasn't good. Get someone nicer to answer the phones.“

“Yesterday was my first time coming here and when I say everything exceeded my expectations! The salmon rolls ? babyyyy they were the best! I was going to go back today for more but they’re closed, so I’ll be back Sunday! The food was made with love and care and you can tell! That’s so hard to find in Philly nowadays.
