“Started last Friday’s day off with a stop at the amazing Cafe dei Campi. Fully veganized Italian pastries and small pizzas. Soups and salads too but I stuck to the Italian specialties. Hazelnut filled tortellini melt in your mouth pastries. Amarettis and Biscotti. The essential Italian cafe’s big espresso machine which makes the perfect double espresso with the layer of crema and their cappuccino with perfect foam. Accompanied with a flaky delicious cornetto, it felt like heaven. Much chatting with my friend and a necessary second cornetto and espresso completed our visit by closing time. We had lucked out with a table. Had a great rest of the day that right from the start, arriving at the cafe there was a couple with their little boy wearing a Metallica t-shirt. Of course I had to comment, he was so cute and responsive to my speaking to him. And found out he’s a true fan of heavy metal music, this beautiful 4 year old boy named Sandro. So the day was pretty perfect.🖤“

“Love this café. Espresso is consistently well prepared and dialed in, baked goods are solid, and of course you have 10+ roasters to choose from for freshly roasted coffee. My only nitpick would be that I wish the house roaster's beans were available as espresso on rotation. The house blend is good but I've had some mind blowing espresso here and I want more lol.“

“New coffee lover here but trained for years. I stayed in MTL for 2 months and tried many café. I almost always get Flat White to test the coffee without too much milk.
Vibe: Amazing place. Very spacious and quite when I visited in the early morning. Very clean toilet too. Wifi is easy to access and fast.
Coffee: Very good. Chocolatey and nutty. Very smooth maybe because that's the largest flat white I got in MTL. haha. The pastries are very flakey and fresh. Fair price too.
Service: Staff is very nice and calm. We got like three drinks on and off but they didn't complain at all. haha“

I have food allergies and they even made a few changes for me. Hibiscus’s based tea from Fortnum and Mason was they perfect compliment to scones, mini quiche, beetroot mimosa egg and other sweet and savory treats. I even iced my tea. Service was beyond GOOD. “This is a really location for a coffee shop on the ground floor of the Royal Bank Tower along Rue Saint-Jacques. There is a fair amount of indoor seating in a charming early 20th-century bank or even rail station like environs. They have work areas you can rent for longer stays and you can do take-away as well. We found the queue fairly long when we arrived on a Monday afternoon. Waited around 15 minutes to arrive at order counter. Americano was ok, Allonge better and Cortado probably the best drink on the day. Lemon slice served with cake was fine. On the whole, the coffee and afternoon snack were ok at Crew Collective, had better elsewhere in Montreal during this particular trip but the environs here are great. This is a really neat place to sit and enjoy a cup of joe if you get the chance.“

“I stumbled across Melbourne Café on a scorching summer day back in 2019, just walking down Saint-Laurent. Since then, I’ve probably been 30, maybe 40 times, and I’m still not tired of it. That says a lot!!

This place has been around for a while now, and there’s a reason it’s still standing strong. It’s simple, a little funky, and effortlessly relaxed , exactly what I associate with Melbourne, where I lived for a year. The café captures that Australian café culture perfectly: unpretentious, fresh food, great coffee, and a space that just feels good to be in.

I’ve worked my way through pretty much every item they’ve had on the menu over the years, the bagel, the Lebanese plate, the chicken sandwich, and so on. The menu’s not huge, but what they do, they do really well. That said, if I’m being completely honest, I tend to fall back on the same thing almost every time: the avocado toast!

It might sound basic, but theirs is on another level. I’d go so far as to say it’s the best avocado toast I’ve had anywhere in Canada, no exaggeration. The bread is always perfectly toasted, the avocado is ripe and generous, but what really makes it is the homemade tomato chilli jam. It’s incredible. Sweet, tangy, spicy, it hits every note and ties the whole dish together in a way that makes it feel anything but basic. It’s honestly a little addictive.

The service has always been lovely. Sure, like most places, there’s some staff turnover (understandably, in this industry and economy), but what’s consistent is the energy and the welcome you get. And the owners, Sébastien and Lily, are absolute gems. I’ve seen them behind the counter since day one, they’re hands-on, hardworking, and clearly passionate about what they do. It shows. They care, and it makes a difference.

If I could give more than five stars, I would. Melbourne Café is one of those places that just gets everything right, and keeps you coming back without needing to reinvent itself every season. A staple, and for me, a favourite.“

“One of the few cafes on Saint Laurent that allow laptops lol. I walked for 15 mins and so many places were not allowing laptops .... Do they not want creatives and writers to be customers? I don't get it.

So happy I finally found Cafe Bravo. Good coffee, music and vibes. Nice and bright with big windows. I like the unique matcha drinks like lemonade with soda water.

Would love some gluten free snack options but just happy I can come here and write .“
