“Friends and I met here, Sunday of Labor Day weekend. They’d already been another time and were excited to try the dinner menu. Because of the timing and the slight passing sprinkle, we were seated quickly on the rail outside. We decided to order some apps to share and after eating them, ordered entrees. In addition to loving the calamari, we enjoyed the crudo so much that we ordered another serving. Both couples shared burgers which were excellent. The cucumber salad was good but I won’t be dreaming about it the same way I will be all the seafood items we ordered. We finished up the evening with ice cream cones. I didn’t try any of the cocktails as the friends I was with are wine drinkers and had ordered a bottle before I arrived. The plastic cutlery and glassware weren’t ideal but I can understand how this is a challenge for them given their location and setup. Will definitely be back soon!“

“In the summer we frequent the tiki bar on the beach. In the winter we will go here regularly to relax at the upper bar and watch the boats go by. Great food, service and atmosphere. The upper bars gets a little loud when crowded but not bad.“

“Had a hankering Sunday evening for an elite Lobstah Roll while in Newport, RI so I did a lil internet searching and Luke's was consistently at the top of the list. Checked out their menu online and saw they offered a Lobster Roll flight! SOLD! Off I went to find parking and get an order ASAP. Found Luke's on the corner on the Wharf and got to ordering with a quickness. Lobster Roll Sampler with three 2 oz half-rolls: lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter w/ chips and a soft drink. Choice of Sea Salt or Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips, and choice of beverage. I got the Sea Salt and Vinegar (duh) and Blueberry Lemonade in a glass bottle. The lobster in their rolls comes cold, but for a $1 upcharge, you can get it warm, which is my preference. I also got an affordably priced Poppy Seed Slaw. Folks - these Lobster Rolls deserve top billing on "Best Of" lists. My fav might have been the truffle butter lobster roll. It adds something I never knew a lobster roll was missing, but they were all delectable. The roll makes the roll, though. Buttery sourdough with the perfect thin layer of crisp. All flavors were well-balanced and left me wanting more, even though it was plenty food to make a satisfying meal with maybe/maybe not room for dessert. I honestly didn't get any dessert nearby because I didn't want to lose the taste of what I just had! The Poppy Slaw was different, but in a good, not-too-different way. It was a little on the dryer side for my liking, but I liked it just the same. I am sorry to other local Lobster Roll vendors because I don't think I'll try anywhere new on my next visit. It'll be Luke's, no doubt. I might even make a special trip just for the rolls sooner rather than later, but that time I will try the chowder too!“

“Went to the Coast Guard House for my daughter's birthday a couple of weeks ago. Our server Julie made us feel comfortable like family. She was very attentive taking care of every need we might have. The food was great. I will definitely be back. Hope I get Julie for a server again.“

“We had an outstanding experience here on Easter Sunday. From start to finish, everything was excellent—both the food and the service were truly top tier. Our waitress was engaging, personable, and even took the time to share some Rhode Island folklore with us, which made the evening feel extra special. We’re visiting from Long Island and touring URI, and this was easily one of the highlights of our trip. The cod and sole were beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. We also loved the espresso martini crème brûlée and cappuccino—such a perfect way to end the meal. Would absolutely return and highly recommend.“

I tried the flavored coffee for fun and loved it - they even had almond and oat milk! My brother got an omelette with spinach and tomato - looked and smelled amazing - he loved it! Also nice thick toast - lots of butter available.Our table also had other egg dishes with bacon and toast - delicious! Our waitress, Desiree, was wonderful - warm, friendly, fast appeared with anything we wanted at lightning speed even though Meldgies was full and busy! The staff worked together to keep things going and made it look effortless! i can see why this spot is so popular! What a gem! Come before 7 and you can see the locals having a great breakfast before going off to work - always the sign of a great place!!“

“If you’re coming to visit Newport and haven’t heard of Jo’s, it’s because it’s a hidden gem! Amazing local farm-to-table options that keep us and those who visit us asking to go back to that one place in Newport, I really loved! The service to guests with one or more allergies was superb! The chef personally came to our table on each visit to discuss what meals were safe to order. I have multiple allergies, so sometimes they would have made me my own off-the-menu special dish. I’ve never gotten sick once, and everyone who goes there with us when they visit always asks to go back on their next trip! ♥️“

“Best seafood in Rhode Island! If the line is long, it is worth the wait! We have been going since we moved here in 2020, and have taken multiple out-of-state guests who also love it and always ask to go back! If you have multiple food allergies, like gluten, dairy, and nuts, they are also great at accommodating! I haven’t gotten sick once yet! It was also the first restaurant our August newborn went to in 2022; his current favorite is fried shrimp and fries! Highly recommend Jimmy’s for the food, the iconic Block Island ferry atmosphere, and the hardworking, loving family who are wicked friendly when they aren’t immensely busy. We will be there next month for the first time this year! 🥳“

What an amazing dining experience we had at Hooked last night! It was our first time dining outside this season, and we’re so glad we chose Hooked. From start to finish, everything was outstanding.
Shelby, our server, was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and truly embodied the spirit of hospitality. She genuinely cared about making our evening special, and it absolutely showed.
The food was fabulous — no surprise with the talented Scales crew behind it all! And the dirty martini with hand-stuffed blue cheese olives was perfectly crafted and absolutely on point.

“I can only speak for the clam cakes which I found to be very good. They were a little small so they gave me extra. I have gone twice recently and both times they were out of stuffies. This is just after noon both times so you wouldn't expect that. The wait for the clam cakes was rather long too considering it takes five minutes to fry them. I will give them another try though.“

“I have been a customer for 5 years and live an hour away. I hold oyster parties for my oyster loving friends so I shuck all the oysters myself. I have shucked many different kinds of oysters but AMH are a dream to work with because they are consistent. Very few if any bad ones. I love the selection too. Ordering and pickup by car easy.“

“Hands down best Lobster roll I have had. $27 for 2 lobster rolls and fries and they don't skimp on the lobster... The lobster is cooked perfectly and bun so soft yet toasted and buttered just the right amount... Been in Newport for 2 days and already had it twice... My wife and 5 year old daughter absolutely love it too!!! Keep up the amazing quality!!“

“This was the BEST RESTAURANT we went to in Newport!! All of the seafood dishes were excellent, fresh and tasty. If you’ve ever been to the famous Oyster Bar in Grand Central station, this place is just as good. Definitely NYC prices for oysters $3.50/ oyster but that seemed to be the average price for a lot of the places in Newport.

The scallops were extremely fresh, sweet and perfectly cooked. Also highly recommend the linguine pasta with calms, along with the lobster bisque. The bisque has HUGE pieces of lobster and was the perfect appetizer. For drinks and dessert, recommend the mojito and the chocolate mouse.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for celebrating a winter night.
