“How have I been living in Dallas, 15 min from here, for 38 years and just now found this place!? Don't like tomatoes or mayo on your burger? Want extra pickles? No fussing with a cashier, there is a toppings bar to dress your burger the way YOU like. Fries were fresh and hot. Staff was friendly and fast. dining area was clean. Burgers were well seasoned and they gave us a generous amount of bacon and crumbled blue cheese. Chili cheese dog was a good, but I wish they would have toasted the hotdog bun. “I visited Daqs & Oxtails for the first time during their Soft Grand Opening on 5/30/24. I love the vibe of the place. There was plenty of parking with indoor and outdoor seating. There was no hot food ready to purchase during my visit but I did buy the in-house banana pudding, hypnotic lemonade, Cake Daddy’s chicken salad, and the “Voodoo” flavor daiquiri. The servers were pleasant and professional, and the items were priced as I expected. Of all the items I purchased, the banana pudding was my favorite. I will definitely be returning to this spot for some oxtails, greens, yams, and cornbread soon! This spot is worth checking out!“

“Visited this restaurant for lunch and this time I brought the family and we tried different foods from the menu. The chicken and beef fajitas were so delicious and well seasoned, the chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection and the gravy made it a heavenly food item. The sweet tea satisfied my thirst from an outside temperature of 98 degree farenheit. Our waitress was so friendly and ready to serve our children as well, as our children enjoyed their cheeseburgers and chicken tenders meals. She made our experience a great one and highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.“

I am glad that they are following CDC Guidelines for Covid-19 very strictly.Employees are told to track their body temperature & maintain personal hygiene throughout the shift. The food was great and the cookies for dessert was good as well
However I didn’t give a perfect score because with several employees working behind the counter and sitting in the dining no one greeted me
I looked several of them in their faces and nothing
The lady that took my order was sweet and I did nothing here greeting others. I ordered take out and they called my name and again no thank or anything

I always walk past because it looked plain on the outside. I came in to a laid back counter and kitchen that felt more homey than restaraunty. It wasn’t too busy when I arrived. 2 or 3 couples and a few eating alone. Just the sound of guitar and harmonica playing through the speakers.

I ordered the tilapia and shrimp caddo plate with a sweet tea for $25. Grooved with the sound of the blues down to my seat in a comfy corner between a wall of Billy bass and a wall of water skis.

First smell and first bite of the food brought me straight to New Orleans and back. Im so thankful I can share this experience.

My kids like the food here. What I don't like is you have to ask for key to use the restroom. They use to have tvs playing the sports shows and now they are always off. They use to have jazz music playing and now they don't. At the other slims chickens the tvs work and the restrooms are unlocked.“
