“My wife and I visited last Wednesday on our vacation from Minnesota. The brisket was great, the barbacoa was the best I've ever had anywhere. The onion rings were amazing and I don't personally care for onion rings. The jalapeno cheese chorizo was outstanding. As good as all those were the beef ribs were the best most perfect bite of food I've ever had... But what really stood out is the amazing staff from Evan greeting us as we walked in the door to everyone that we met so helpful kind and cheerful! Having worked in the service industry for most of my life it's always a joy to be treated so well!“

“Great food—especially the tacos and elote, which are my favorites. The only downside was the service. The person at the front seemed annoyed and disengaged, and it showed in the experience. He forgot to include a fork with my order. I left but stopped to check, and I know he watched me. Before I even mentioned anything, I went back and he just handed me a fork without saying a word or acknowledging me. It felt rushed and unwelcoming, like he didn’t want to interact at all. He was annoyed at being there and weirdly passive aggressive about it. I went on Saturday April 11 at 6pm.“

“Just tried Song La for the first time today. Shirley was so incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. I spent 3 months in Taiwan before moving to Austin and was craving some Taiwanese fried chicken and this hit the spot. Plus, everything is made to order and comes out super fresh (that said, don't come in a rush, make sure you've got a little time to enjoy their new spot at The Thicket and hang for a bit). Whether you've had Taiwanese food before and are craving it or just want to try some incredible fried chicken in a cool South Austin spot, definitely give them a try. ❤“

Although I am Puerto Rican my wife is from Venezuela and I know we both find true comfort and love in the food they make. I have to say I am very disappointed in a recent review from someone who clearly seems to have no compassion for a small business or human error. “Despite the fact that this is one of the ONLY places to get food in Austin after midnight (post-Covid) it’s far from a last resort. The owner / chef Saaj is an Austin local that feeds his customers as true “neighbors” by sharing his native recipes with a unique home cook feel. The portions are massive for just under $15, and I dare you to only eat it once. It’s in the backyard of C-Boys - and Austin staple in its own right, so enjoy a Shiner Bock and some local blues while you eat.“

“Taqueria La Casita Al Pastor is definitely serving some of the better al pastor tacos in Austin. The pork was perfectly seasoned with great flavor, and the homemade tortillas made a huge difference.
