“I'm not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite place to eat in San Antonio. Located near the airport in a tucked away location, RO-HO Pork & Bread is a hidden gem. This is comfort food at it's finest. Ro-Ho has many great things on the menu, but they are best known for their Torta Ahogada, and it's what I get almost every time. The torta is always hot, the carnitas cooked to perfection, and the tomato salsa is to die for. You can get the torta with straight carnitas or you can mix it up with carnitas, pork stomach and skin, which is what I usually get. The torta also comes with cabbage, onion, radish and lime. No matter how you order it, it's going to be great! The place is super cool, with Mexican artwork and music. There is inside seating and an outside covered patio as well. Everything you can get to drink from the cold case is always ice cold. And they serve one of my favorite Mexican beers, Victoria. Chef Rojo is often around and greets customers. The ladies that work the register and food line are so friendly, and will answer questions if it's your first time. The place fills up quickly at lunch, so keep that in mind. I drive clear across town for my Torta Ahogada fix, if that says anything! Check this place out!“

Now there are only two, Alamo Heights, and this one which is in Monte Vista. The food is heavenly. The atmosphere is sublime. Service: exceptional. “Maria's was the 5th spot we tried on our search for best breakfast tacos in SA. The bacon, egg, potato and cheese was really good especially with that hot sauce and its spicy kick. The bean and cheese, while also good wasn't as flavorful as beans I've had elsewhere. The carne guisada and cheese was the best taco for sure. It's a bit of nitpicking, but the meat wasn't quite as tender as compared to other spots and the tortillas overall were on the chewy side. That being said, I really enjoyed this spot and would definitely return for more breakfast tacos as well as to try all the other options on their menu. 4.2 out of 5“
