i've been coming to this place for about 20 years back when the whole chicken was $6. Over the years the price started getting higher and I decided to start going to a less expensive place pollo rico. I haven't been to el regio in a couple of years until pollo, rico told me it was gonna be 30 minutes before their chicken was ready. Unwillingly I drove to El regio & boy im glad I did. They must've got a new cook in the kitchen because this meal was the best i've ever had! the rice has a lot of flavor now, the beans are so smoky, that chicken was so moist and not dried out like it used to be.Oh, my god, it is worth the extra cost.I will never go back to pollo rico EVER again!“

“When somebody tells me “these are the best tacos in Austin” I can immediately be skeptical. These tacos blew my expectations. When I first approached menu, I was currently hangry and overwhelmed with choice and Liz was super-friendly, conversational and recommend the perfect taco combo of the Machaca and the Alambre. The first time I came here the guy was kinda rude but in his defense he seemed overwhelmed by the customer rush hour.. try these out if you love birria but taste wise you probably won’t be back often unless the location is convenient for you“

“We came here at 10:50pm when they were about to close and the owner was very friendly and made us our food pretty quick. Everything was flavorful. And the corn tortillas are homemade! We tried cabeza, lengua, al pastor and fajita. All the meats were pretty good except the el pastor was ok in our opinion. Definitely will be back to try other items.“

You can't miss, no matter what you order, but I highly recommend the salsa sampler if you want the perfect communal appetizer. Viva La Curra!“

“The BEST tacos I've ever had!!! I visit every time I'm in Austin, often multiple times. The staff is friendly, the outdoor dining space is airy and relaxing, and the tacos will change your life. I've had the birria, tripa, barbacoa, campechano, and pastor, but the buche is by far my favorite! They also have breakfast tacos to start your day off right. A MUST when you're in SoCo. ¡Gracias! Already looking forward to next time.“

“Margarita was okay but let's talk about the food😋 Talk about made in Mexico!!! No TexMex amalgamation here. It's the team deal. The puerc pibil (pork, onion, spices wrapped in a banana leaf and tied with a corn husk string) is to die for. The fresh oregano stands out. the rice is okay but the black beans were the best that I've had this side of Miami. I'm gonna have to go back. Happy, happy, happy“

“Delicious. A friend and I got the tortas, one breakfast (bacon) and one regular (pastor). The total came out to ~$30, and they text you to notify you of the food being ready. The plates and cups are all sustainable. The salsas were creamy, spicy, and flavorful. The environment was beautiful, we sat in the shade by the water feature and watched the goldfish meander around. Definitely worth a visit. I am looking forward to coming by in the evening to enjoy the lights. The parking lot can get busy.“
