Tex-Mex Restaurants near Watauga

“I'm a lover of true white queso, not yellow, Velvetta- tasting queso that apparently is called white queso in this part of Texas. I specifically came to Fresco's as I read they had white queso in a review. That is incorrect. 😆😆 They have a yellow queso and an even MORE yellow queso. So far, only El Mariachi Sabor de Mexico has the true white queso. Other than that, my husband enjoyed his quesadilla (and I did too 😉) but my fajitas were just ok. Thursday evenings can be a bit noisier than other days of the week. Not sure if we'd come back, but our waitress was AMAZINGLY attentive.“

There was ground meat mixed in the beans, like it was stuck to the utensil or had been dropped into the service container which nearly sent my texture sensitive eater over the edge. There are so few of these restaurants anymore I hate to leave an actual truthful review.“

“The food and ambience is made with true Tex-mex spirit! Food is delicious, ambience and decor is really nice, the bar area looks like a jewel there! 👌 Sangria Swirl is top notch, house made chips are so fresh, relenos and chili enchiladas are the best!“

“First time doing takeout here! I was a little surprised that I was prompted for a tip, but then my order didn’t include any utensils. I’ll be honest, I didn’t leave a huge tip, mostly because it feels like so many places these days expect a tip even for takeout, and I’m always much happier tipping when the little details and service are there too.

I just wish as much attention had been given to making sure the order had everything we needed as there was to asking for a tip. Nothing major—just a small learning opportunity for the future. :)“

“I was given a gift çard to eat at this restaurant. I went there with dear friends of mine à few years ago & it was Terrible. last night Wednesday June, 21 2023. I decided to give them another try. OMG!! My waitress Julia was à beautiful young lady as SWEET as could be. the food was great. To say it was Much better service & Atmosphere. I spoke with a manager Jimmy to tell him this way better than the last time. A big shout out to my waitress Julia. Thank you for your service. “We have been eating at la Isla for 30 years. Mainly the Park Row and Cooper location and when they moved to Pantene we followed them there. We have sampled the menu widely but I am centered on the tostada de Ceviche for a start. Then the sour cream chicken enchilada plate. We love the rice and beans and I love to put some of the delicious salsa on them. My wife usually gets either the fajitas or the tacos Al carbon. The chips and salsa are great too. Moderately priced as well. Give them a try.“

“Obviously Tex Mex is common and easy to find in DFW. So it takes something special to stand out from the others. Lupe Tortilla Mexican Restaurant gets that and kicks it up a notch. The service, atmosphere, extensive menu, affordabilty and food quality were all top tier but I think what impressed me the most was the presentation. When a dish looks like a work of art and then tastes amazing that's a 10 out of 10. I know I am posting photos that others have posted but that shows the quality is consistent. I will go back and try other items soon.“

We celebrated a friend's bday with a party of 20 and the staff was on their toes and attentive the entire time. It's a great establishment with great food and even better hospitality.“

“Mother's Day was made even more special by choosing this place for lunch. Each lady was met with a rose and quickly shown to the table. The Staff greeted us with a big smile and seemed genuinely happy that we were there. As I had never dined there, I was Pleasantly surprised by the delicious tomatilo salsa! Just be aware the prices are higher. For 2 people sharing one appetizer, one alcoholic drink each, one main dish each, and a generous tip, the total was above $90. Very yummy, just be aware!“

“mexican inn is good ( hurst area ) but i’m sure this location is as well BUT i had a problem that they act like they couldn’t fix without the manger and im a manger myself for fast food and this problem didn’t necessarily involve a manger
i was missing an item and called for 2days could never get in touch with the manger“

“I’ve been going to Mexican Inn since 1984 when I worked in downtown Fort Worth at Fourth and Jones as a horticulturist. It was our go to lunch spot when we could afford and chose to dine out. “🥰👍The Mexican Inn Café – As a recent homeowner in the Fairmount Historical district of Fort Worth, Texas and needing a caterer for a Birthday celebration I searched yelp* with way too many choices. After much research and difficult pricing decision to make I took a deeper dive into the website for the Mexican Inn Café. What I found was lots of happy folks with both food and the restaurant. Next step was asking around for personal experience and found again lots of happy folks. Last step was a personal visit to check out the food. Well, that was a pleasant surprise for a restaurant that has been there for 60 + years – great food – great service and impressive service personal. Making the arrangements for the catering service was easy and working with Annette Rosas far exceeded my expectations. On the day of the birthday party the food arrived on time and their set-up service was excellent. OH, those yummy food smells. Everything looked delicious, was well prepared and the display was a treat to the eye. In addition - all was an enormous success from the party goers’ praises … except for there being little left over for me to enjoy the next day>LOL. I would like to recommend the Mexican Inn Café 8th Street in Fort Worth and Annette Rosas to anyone in need of catering services or an excellent place to eat. Thank you Annette for making my chose an excellent one – You are Amazing.“
