“The staff at Hug-Hes tonight were truly a godsend. We were about an hour from home, looking for a place to eat, and decided to stop in. We had our 5-year-old with us and were pleasantly surprised by the variety on the kids’ menu.

While we were waiting for our food, our son suddenly got sick and threw up—nothing related to the restaurant at all. He was panicked, and we needed to head home quickly. As my wife helped clean him up, I worked with the staff to take care of the mess. They were incredibly kind, understanding, and helpful throughout the entire situation.

I was very apologetic and asked if we could cancel our order, and there was absolutely no hesitation. Their only concern was making sure we could get our child home and taken care of. The manager was especially amazing—I didn’t catch her name, but she went out of her way to support us and make sure everything was handled smoothly.

Because of the staff alone, we will definitely be returning. Also, the beer bread was excellent“

“Great meal last night. Crispy Pork Belly was amazing and a generous portion. Followed up with Fire Roasted Maitaki Mushrooms and a glass of Nebbiolo. Rye Boulevardier (a Negoni with whiskey) for a night cap. All delicious. Friendly yet prompt and professional service. Chatted with sommelier Katie about the awesome wine program. Beautiful space. “Visited when in town for a wedding and Franklin Ave became our go-to stop. Their food is delicious. On our last night they were busy and we could only be seated downstairs. We sat at the bar and had appetizers while we watched three incredible bartenders show their talents with all of the mixers, tinctures,etc. Very highly recommend!“

“I was really impressed with the food! I shared the enchiladas and a rueben and both were really good imo. I had the passionfruit sour which as a sour beer person I really enjoyed. The staff was friendly and attentive. I liked the open space environment as this brewery seems to be in a former warehouse. Imo this place deserves more than the 4.3 stars that it has at the time that I am writing this review. I rate this brewery an easy 5/5 stars for a perfect experience.“

“My husband and I had dinner there a few nights ago and the food was fabulous. My pork osso buco was so tender and my husband’s chicken provoleta was equally delicious. We also had the spinach and artichoke dip with artisan flat bread and the multi layer chocolate cake and loved both. My education is in design so I pay close attention to my surroundings. The restaurant is beautifully designed and not overdone and from what I saw every table in the restaurant has a view of the city. The flatware was the perfect weight and designed by the well known British designer Robert Welch and lastly the beautiful linens are manufactured in Italy for a beautiful soft finishing touch. All and all it was a wonderful dinner and the staff was perfect, especially our server Sam she was very professional. When we were leaving we saw one of the chefs and told him how much we loved our dinner. He informed us that they have only been open for a week and a half. We were really surprised. I’ve been to other restaurants that have been open for months and can’t get the food and staff in sync no matter how hard they try. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back and will be bringing friends.“

“Beautiful views and good food (for a hospital). It could obviously be a little more seasoned but hospital food isn’t known for its seasoning for a reason. I prefer going here over the main hospital because of it’s made-to-order food, instead of burgers that have been under a heat lamp. Plus the fries are yummy :)“

“A local told me about this place so i had to try…good burgers located into a supermarket that reminds me of Whole Foods…has salad bar so you put your own toppings on it…burgers are affordable and it’s in a great location right next to the mask in the heart of SLC…try it out“

“I haven't been here in probaby 10 years. I was invited out with a group of friends, parking was alright, you have to pay at the meter, the food was actually pretty good for bar food, totally wish they offered 20oz steaks, but I settled for the four chicken strips (carnivore diet), the live music was chill, lots of classics, which always bring you back to simpler times. The waitresses are very polite and on it whenever you needed something, which is always appreciated, the bouncers had a sense of humor and could carry a conversation. I don't drink, but all my friends seemed to be having a good time (party of 9). They have a really nice back area. Over all definitely need to come back. Thanks Gracies for a good night! See you hopefully soon!“

“It has been a minute since i was here last. Was up in the area and was telling a friend about the Gawd Awful and how good it was when i ate there while doing work up at the U. It has totally been revamped inside to a new clean Hipster feel with a more “cleaned up modified version” of what i remember. As it was still good and the portion size was smaller it was still really good. But i do miss the old “Dive” it once was tho. It is what made it stand out among the rest of the new hipster joints piping up in the area. It was a really cool place to take people and no one would expect the food to be so good and it proved them wrong every time. We will just have to get used to the new i guess“

“I’ve eaten at Nordstrom Grill three times now, and one thing is consistent: the artichoke spinach dip is absolutely out of this world. I’ve ordered it every visit, and it never disappoints.

The service is great overall—friendly and professional—but it could be just a bit more attentive during peak times. On my most recent visit, I tried the French dip. The flavor was good, but the bread was unfortunately overcooked, which took away from what could have been an excellent dish.

That said, the atmosphere is comfortable, the food quality is generally solid, and it’s still a place I enjoy returning to—especially for that dip alone.

“Flew out of SLC from vacation in south Utah. Spent the last night in SLC and wanted a bday dinner for my partner. We checked all the reviews and came upon this place. Service / Host was great, I had booked a window at first but there was a booth available and bigger table so we were allowed to move. Server - just plain awesome!!! Guided us through the menu and setup our plates to arrive in an order so we had to enjoy them. Food: Bison tartar -10 Octopus - 10 Shrimp Cocktail, new take on a old dish - 9 Caesar Salad, completely different than the regular romaine and its was amazing - 10 Truffle Fries, yum!!! - 10 Brussel Sprouts, never did I think pomegranates would mix with this. - 9 We split the scallop dinner - 8, only because I'm not a fan of raisins. I added notes about Bday, and they provided us with a Blood Orange Tart, move over Lemon Tarts. This is my new favorite that I have to try and find locally now. hahahaa. Wine list was good too. We will be back“

“I was cautiously pessimistic when I saw "California Pizza" in the name of this place but I will humbly admit their pizza exceeded my expectations. If you like authentic Italian pizza, this place could surprise you like it did me. This isn't Pizza Hut or Little Sleezers; this is legit pizza; thin crust the way it's made in Italy or actual, real pizza places. Definitely worth the visit.“

“Excellent service from the one bartender/waiter manning the entire restaurant alone during a busy lunch hour! He did a great job seating, taking orders, etc! It was our first time in and we had to try the fish n chips and also the pretzel! We shared the fish n chips cuz it was huge AND delicious! I would come back for that! The pretzel was ok, but dipping it in the jalapeño queso and mustard made it worth it!
They do require your drivers license before seating, even if you’re not drinking alcohol. Have your ID ready.“
