“Our waiter, Caleb, was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the dishes were interesting and unique. We were a party of 7, sat outside and really enjoyed ourselves. The pacing of all the dishes coming out was perfect. The only downside was that there was a man with a really large dog seated right next to us and the dog barked and whined (so loudly we could not hear each other) and it smacked into our chairs repeatedly. Once the man left things improved and we had a great experience.“

“The new space is super cute and the dumplings are just as tasty as ever! When we went, the vegetarians and meat-eaters in the group both loved "Livin' on the Vedge". Also super affordable and filling - 2 thumbs up!“

From the attentive and courteous hosts to the richly-appointed intimate seating that is at once welcoming and comfortably exclusive, you instantly feel at home. Eli and the team do a fantastic job of ensuring that your food and drink orders are well-timed and as you request. The food is consistently great, and the richness of the flavors and brilliant, unpretentious presentations are always something to look forward to. “So my first taste of Asian cuisine in DC. I hate so many people are going to QR codes instead of actual servers, but glad it works. Whole experience was about 30 minutes worth of dining total. We ordered the Mapo Tofu (Vegan), the Spicy Beef Noodles, and the lucky 6 soup dumplings (to get a sample of them all). The three I tasted were the seafood options, so the green/red/and yellow tipped pictured below. The green was gourd buffalo, shrimp, and pork. The red was scallops & pork. And the yellow tip was crab meat and pork. My date had the other three. Truffle & pork (black), pork & chicken (yellow), and pork (white). All items were extremely tasty, and the spicy levels were perfection. Only there whem you ate the item and then disappears. Nothing lingering too long. Rice was nice and sticky. The tofu was silky, but not mushy. My favorite was the bokchoy in the beef noodles. Still crunchy! Will most definitely recommend and return!“

“We did one day DC trip and visited this Chinese restaurant for lunch. My dad ordered a spicy beef soup, my little one had buns, dumplings, and spring rolls, my husband ordered non-spicy beef soup, I had a spicy sesame noodles with sesame rolls. We all loved what we ordered. Those are tasty authentic Chinese food. I was very satisfied with my spicy sesame noodles. They are delicious! I am so glad we tried this place. We will come back again for sure. The place is small but welcoming, it has indoor and outdoor spaces for dining. The staff is very kind and friendly. Luckily we were there early, there was a line afterwards when we started eating.“

“This was a great authentic Cantonese restaurant. I have been a frequent visitor since their soft opening. It is a bit sad that they are slowly switching menu to accommodate broader tastes, e.g. by including American-Chinese food and adding Sichuan style dishes. This is understandable given the demographics of the neighborhood and the market demand, but I do notice that the quality fluctuates for some skill-sensitive Cantonese dishes (e.g. 干炒牛河). It is also disappointing that the chicken in 啫啫煲 has been replaced with boneless chicken, which again is understandable to accommodate customers who don't like bone-in chicken, but that's just not how this dish is supposed to be made.
On the flip side of the menu changes, I like that they have added the Typhoon-style Lobster and Peking duck (I don't actually know why in the US many Cantonese restaurant offer Peking duck; maybe as a simple variation of HK-style roast duck.).
Overall, I hope this restaurant will flourish while maintaining its authentic taste and high standards!“

“Always really enjoy eating here and I’m confused why it isn’t packed! Dumplings are clearly homemade with wonderful chewy skin; the spice level options are perfect (and I love super spicy stuff); the cucumbers are the most flavorful I’ve ever had (I order them every time); meats are expertly cooked. Will be back regularly.“
“Came here on the day after July 4, the wait-list seemed long but they went by fast! Service was quick and professional. Food is good as usual (I've been to other locations before).
I remember hearing about the lines to eat here so get take out“

“I’ve ordered three times here since Nov 2025, and the halal indication is what made me curious to try the place. I’m happy Hunan Cafe is in the neighborhood! The food is good and clean, meat portions generous, the white rice that comes as a side was fragrant and tasty. I’m not left second guessing my order unlike other Chinese take out spots that can be too oily or use too much MSG. The service is reliable and friendly.
More details: I’ve placed over the phone with no issue and have ordered using the kiosk. They securely pack the takeout. I’ve earned a reward through Toast, the ordering app. There’s plenty of space to eat-in, if you’d like. I haven’t had an issue with parking, it’s a strip / plaza lot shared with other businesses. Dishes I’ve tried: spicy chicken wonton, lo mein, Taiwan noodle with veggie, Szechuan beef, and La Zhi chicken.“

“The streamed pork and chive dumplings from Dumplings and Beyond were authentic and the Ma Po To Fu was not. Based solely on my delivery order, both dishes were delicious. The plethora of sauces that accompanied the dumplings was very appreciated. The filling was flavorful with plenty of ginger and lacked any gristly leftovers while the wrapper was tender and perfectly cooked. The Ma Po To Fu was delicious and spicy. However, it lacked Szechuan peppercorn which give it the spicy, tingly flavor typically found in this dish. It also lacked pork. Overall, I recommend this restaurant, especially the dumplings, and am eager to visit in person.“

“Food was excellent! We went on a Friday night and it wasn't very busy, but with a holiday weekend people may be out of town
Dishes were large, hot, and fresh. Only thing I wish was different was that there was an iPad for ordering. However, servers stopped by multiple times to check in.“

“I found the food and service to be good here. It's a modest restaurant that could do with a better atmosphere, but the prices are good for Chinatown and the staff were very nice and helpful.
All of the food was served in plastic containers, which is helpful for takeaway food, but it's not eco-friendly for a dine in meal. This is something I would highly recommend they change for the better.“

“Came for the bottomless Dim Sum and Peking Duck the food and cocktails were amazing!! Everything came out fast and hot, the duck was perfectly prepared. The service was tad slow but they did seem understaffed so I totally understand with that being said. At the end of the day I would go back and give it another go!“

“I placed a pick up order over the phone and staff was super nice and food was ready on time. The prices are also super reasonable for the amount of food you get. I’m going to give individuals ratings of everything I got below, but we ordered General Tsos, sweet-and-sour chicken and shrimp, shrimp egg foo young, beef and broccoli, combination lo mein, beef teriyaki sticks, egg rolls, crab cheese wontons, egg drop soup, and fried beef dumplings.
General Tsos: 4.5/5, had the exact flavor I’m looking for in this dish, but could have been a little spicier. They got a little soggy from the condensation, but still delicious.
Sweet and sour chicken and shrimp: 4/5, chicken and shrimp both had good flavor, but there were some pieces that were dry and hard like they were a bit old, but the softer pieces were really good and I like that they put the sauce on the side.
Shrimp egg foo young: 5/5, this was our first time trying this dish and we will definitely get it again. This had really good flavor and so did the gravy.
Beef and , the broccoli and meat were fine, but the sauce is missing something. It just didn’t have the flavor I’m used to and will not order again.
Combination lo mein: 5/5, pretty standard Chinese food lo mein but we had no issues with it and flavor was good.
Beef teriyaki sticks: 1/5, my mom really liked these, but I hated them. The flavor kind of reminds me of beef jerky, which is weird in a fresh meat item.
Egg rolls: 3/5, not the best I’ve had but passable. The taste is just a bit bland. They taste better dipped in the sweet and sour sauce.
Crab cheese wontons: 1/5, I already knew I wasn’t going to like them when I saw they were triangle shaped instead of the ones with the four points (iykyk). There was too much wonton and not enough filling in the filling itself had like no flavor.
Fried beef dumplings: 5/5, these were basically gyoza and flavor was pretty good.
Egg drop soup: 5/5, exactly the flavor I want in egg drop soup.
Although we didn’t love everything, the service, the prices, and the fact that we liked the majority of the items, I feel like they deserve five stars. Will definitely come back for my next Chinese food craving.“

“We love Szechuan-style Chinese food, and this spot was a great find. It was casual, clean, and fast, with excellent quality and generous portions. The pork stir-fry in garlic sauce and flash-fried green beans with pickled cabbage were both super flavorful and paired really well together. The shrimp lo mein was delicious too. Overall, it was a great meal, and we’d definitely come back.“

“I have been wanting to find my go-to take-out Chinese restaurant in the area, and I am, overall, happy to have found the Great Wall. The selection is very extensive, and the on-line ordering is very easy and efficient allowing me to use PayPal. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, combination Lo Mein, and one of their Chef's Specialties, the Jumbo Shrimp with Sesame in Lemon Sauce. They are very fast with the order ready to go in about 15 minutes. The portions are very generous, and they gave me some free spring rolls and crab rangoons based on the amount of money I spent. Overall, the food was very delicious and well prepared; however, some items were exceptional, some items were just good, while one was just horrible. The standouts were the Lo Mein which used real Lo Mein noodles and the crab rangoons which were the best ones I have ever had and I don't even really care for them. The Mongolian beef and the Kung Pao chicken were good, but the real disappointment was their Chef's Specialty lemon sesame shrimp. The shrimps themselves were jumbo and good along with the lemon sauce, but the problem was they were very, very heavily breaded, way to much, making them very doughy instead of crispy. It also didn't help that the menu did not give more details about the dish. I thought the shrimp would be naked, but were instead breaded. Now, I am fine with breaded items so this was only a minor disappointment, but the actual breading technique was absolutely horrible. The worst I have ever had. Shame the most expensive dish was also the worst. I am now very hesitant to order any fried, breaded dishes from the Great Wall such as any sweet and sour entrees. Other than that the experience was overall good. The service is exceptional, professional, and friendly. So, I will go back to Great Wall again to see if they will become my go-to take-out Chinese restaurant. I am hopeful, but still have some slight reservations.“

“We've been eating here for over 20 years and it has always been good. It is recently under new management and the way some items are prepared has changed, but still very tasty -- just a new twist on an old favorite. The one thing the new management needs is someone who knows their way around a bar. The people there this week had a very limited range of knowledge about drinks (gin on the rocks got a blank look), but once you explained they happily made a very acceptable drink.“

“Good, consistent Chinese take-out. I don’t suggest eating in house—it smells pretty bad in the restaurant. I can’t tell if it’s something burnt, cleaning product, building product, or what, but it’s been that way for a while now. Multiple entrees I’ve tried have been very good with high-quality proteins without fat or gristle. They don’t include white rice with entrees, though. I’ve never encountered that before, so you have to explicitly order that if you want it for another $1. 🙄“

“I had an amazing experience at Peking Express! The food was absolutely delicious—everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can really tell they care about quality. The portions were generous, and every bite hit the spot.
What made the visit even better was the service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in.
If you’re looking for great Chinese food with excellent service, this spot is definitely worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back!“
“What a great spot! I was traveling through and just barely found this incredible locations and was greeted with a wide variety of delicious drinks. I wanted to come back but didn’t think I ever would be lo and behold I was back three days later. The girls taking orders and making drinks were highly accommodating for my obnoxious needs. I loved the Matcha Latte. I also LOVED the iced Jasmine. So freaking good.“

“Nice place, adjacent to the hotel. Servings were ample, service was really good. My only issue was everything came out so fast most of it was lukewarm by the time we got to it. Wound up taking some home with us. Prices were good but it added up fast. More of a family style sit down place.“

“I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and authenticity of some of the classic dimsum dishes such as the shrimp dumpling and charngfun. We ordered about 25 small plates between 3 people (including desert) and we were stuffed! Some items tasted a bit too experimental and did not satisfy the classic Cantonese flavor profile that I’m used to. Some were really good! I grew up eating authentic Cantonese dim sum in Los Angeles and have tried amazing eating dim sum in Hong Kong and Guangzhou. In the DMV area, we have limited dim sum options - so this place will do when I crave dim sum! The service and atmosphere were really nice. Total rating is 4.5 stars.“

“Arielle was an amazing host/server. I came in and noticed it was a little busy for a Sunday night and it only looked like it was only 1 server and the bartender helping serve as well. She let me know it might be a little wait, even though it was only me. She gave me recommendations for appetizers, entrees (including every protein option) and even some drink pairings and told me about some new items which I haven’t seen before. I sat for about 8 minutes before she came back letting me know she was going to throw on her apron and help me out so I wasn’t going to be waiting longer. She brought everything out and the Combination Fried Rice was wonderful, Garlic noodles I would give about a 7/10, Dynamite sushi 10/10 and the new Lychee Lemonade was perfect just how she explained. Didn’t see her again for a while but she stopped by letting me know that she was just pitching in to help, told me she had been in overtime, apologized for any inconvenience and asked if I could leave a review and there was no way I couldn’t! Another server Andre would take over, and he did an amazing job as well especially for having to run around and help everywhere! Her energy was very vibrant and so authentic, it was refreshing to have someone be themselves! Andre was very sweet! Food was delicious as always.“

“This is my second time trying out CHIKO. First time I tried it at DuPont was several years ago and I had a great experience.
Overall, everything we ordered was really good. The lime cooler drink was especially refreshing and a great balance to the meal. One thing worth noting is that their “small plates” are actually quite generous in portion. The chilled noodles remain a standout for me!
I also tried the cumin lamb stir fry, which had great flavor, but it leaned a bit too heavy on the shallots for my taste. Still enjoyable overall.
If you have the option, I’d recommend going to DuPont location as it has better vibes and atmosphere. But this location might be more accessible.“

“Top quality Chinese food!!! Wow- don’t judge this well-hidden gem by its cover. While it doesn’t look like much on the outside, the quality here is unbeatable! We dined in and had the best Chinese food that we’ve had in the area! The food was fresh and seasoned exceptionally well. The recipes are genuine and hearty.
