“This place has a great atmosphere and the staff is wonderful. We were just driving through Richmond and decided to stop here for a bite. My husband had the brisket sandwich which he said was fantastic. I had the trainwrek that was so large and outstanding I couldn’t finish it and have leftovers. The food is fresh and has exquisite flavor! If I’m ever in Richmond again I will be returning.“

“We came on Friday night for jazz. The performer was WONDERFUL....her voice was silky and sultry and reminded me of Samara Joy! We ordered appetizers, which were all good. However, I was expecting the fried pickles to be cut like chips versus steak fries. Our server, Enjhonae, was absolutely amazing. She was very attentive and extremely pleasant!! Overall, it was a great way to spend a Friday night and we will definitely do it again!!“

“I waited all week to get a meal from Mama J ! I was very disappointed, my order was wrong no corn muffin ,got cabbage when I order collar greens. Waitress wrote collardgreens on my order but someone didn't read and gave me cabbage. Also gave me a teaspoon of potato salad .I came from Chesterfield to be disappointed. A 40.00 meal 0“

“Amazing experience, food was super good, oriented towards elevated deep splouth cuisine. Fried chicken was cooked just right and crispy salmon was melt in your mouth great. We almost bought extra short-beef rib egg rolls to go! Only slight negative was that dessert took a little long to get to us. In their defense, we came late, it seemed like they cooked it fresh, and they comped it, so can't complain!“

“Well researched food, solidly composed cocktails, and a warm interior make The Roosevelt one of the most talked about restaurants in RVA currently. Chef Leah is as much a researcher as she is a good chef. Being a long time food writer who has been on assignment in many kitchens, its no surprise to me that Leah has carved out a reputation for herself in Richmond recently. She sources a lot from local farmers, adheres often to seasonal common sense, and takes inspiration from her reading and research on Soul Food, Southern food, and Virginia food. I wouldn't classify prices at The Roosevelt as cheap but also wouldn't classify them as extravagant either. Marketed by many as a "neighborhood spot" I always see The Roosevelt as a great date night spot, particularly for those who might fancy themselves foodies. Congrats to Leah and The Roosevelt on their recent James Beard nod. In my opinion, well deserved.“

“What a delightfully quirky, fun 80s vibe restaurant! The names of some of the menu items are hilarious. They were very attentive and accommodating with regards to my treenut allergies and I was still able to enjoy several menu items. Get the Bundt Pirate dessert if it's on the menu. It exceeded our expectations!!! Can't wait to go back the next time we're in Richmond“

“We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, which is understandable since it was a holiday, but I did have to call the front desk to get someone to come to the entrance and assist us.
The menu is fairly small, and vegetarian options are quite limited. That said, the food was a pleasant surprise. Despite the limited menu, everything was well executed. The chicken burger was generously portioned, juicy, and flavorful, and it was clear they weren’t using old oil. The fries were perfectly cooked, crispy, and not greasy.
The atmosphere is casual yet sophisticated, and during our visit it was calm and relaxed.
Overall, the value is worth it, and based on this experience, I would definitely come back.“

“I have never been here before today. As soon as I walked in my nostrils were smacked with the delicious smell of BBQ! The girl working the counter has the most pleasant smile of anyone I have seen in many years. I had ordered, online, a pound of brisket with the crossroads sauce and 2 deep dish pizzas (the pizza's were the main reason I ordered from here as I have been looking for years for a place in Richmond that has Chicago deep dish pizza), and an order of the baked beans. The pizza's are frozen and I can't wait to try them. The brisket is unbelievably good and while I usually don't care for vinegar based BBQ sauces, the crossroads is mouth wateringly great! This place is a 30 minute drive for me to get to, but I'll gladly be back for more.“

“Definitely 5 stars! Me and my daughter went for brunch, a pitcher of Mimosas and the best breakfast I've ever had. My daughter ordered the biscuits and gravy. They were so good, almost like a she-crab bisque flavor gravy-absolutely wonderful. I ordered the chicken biscuit, was also wonderful, the hot honey with the fresh homemade Bisquit was so flavorful. No wait to be seated, the waitstaff was very friendly. Definitely recommend and definitely will go back!“

“I was very disappointed with the French toast. It was rubbery and couldn't even absorb any syrup. I have had many meals at Cracker Barrel in various cities and always had a good experience and meal. This time meal was very less than desirable.“

“Menu choice was consistent as in past visits, however this visit was a bit disappointing overall. Slipping and falling while turning the corner to the restrooms was not how I expected to end the visit. While attempting to get up, noticed entirely too much water left on the floor (same as in restroom), and NO "wet floor" signage placed. I alerted a staff member of what happened and that signage needs to be up. Staff needs to ensure to NOT leave excessive water when mopping and throw up signs.“

“The new prices are SHOCKING! The food for the most part is consistently great tasting. Mine was a little too salty the last time, but still really good. I usually get Just Fish which had been $12.35, the new price is $19.99, with tax $20.99!!! A $7.64 price increase for whiting is a DIABOLICAL increase for a carryout spot! Unfortunately Sugars is officially out of carryout, wait outside in the weather range for me. I wish the owners and staff a propserous safe 2026.“

“I ordered the pull pork with coleslaw. My sandwich was packed with seasoned pork bbq and hearty. The flavor of the smoke bbq taste like it was cooked slow in a smoker. First time ordering it from the menu and the combo didn’t disappoint. Cnt wait to order this combo again. Service was fast, young lady on the drive thru was familiar with the menu.“

“Sound the Alarm! The meals here are absolutely fantastic. Five Stars isn't enough, kick it to 10 Stars. We have eaten various meals here and you will be disappointed if you pass this restaurant up. They serve in and you can do pickup. Just give them adequate time to prepare your delicious meal.“
“Crabcake was well prepared, mainly lump crab meat, little filler. Cole slaw was much better than average. Peanut soup is not my favorite but was willing to give it a try. Too salty. Shrimp and grits were good along with the andouille sausage. Have been to the Jefferson Hotel before but wanted to go this year to see the Christmas decorations. Recommend it. The Gingerbread House scene was great including the scent of the spices.“

“I Love this location, we come to Richmond and always enjoy the Mayland Ct. location after a day shopping or appointments. We drive from Fredericksburg. Always Great Service, Great Food and friendly“

“My husband and I frequent this location as we only live about 25 minutes away. While the menu is smaller than the original location in farmville, we have not had anything bad from this location. The service is always fast and we hardly ever have to ask for anything as our servers will check on us frequently. We have gone at all times of the day and all different days and don’t have any complaints! We even take our infant daughter with us, who just sleeps while we eat. If a manger is there while we are, they almost always stop by our table for a chat. We have never had any issues with food not being hot or missing anything or not being cook just right. There are one or two servers that aren’t super friendly and we prefer not to have them but I feel like that’s probably how it is at most restaurants. We enjoy the atmosphere and the food! Would recommend this location to any and everybody looking for a new food spot!“
