“From the moment we walked into Umpli Dumpling, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere is welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious; our waiter, Jonathan, recommended the fried pork chops, the new pork belly, and the chicken ramen.

However, what truly stood out was the service. Our waiter, Jonathan, was exceptional. He knew the menu inside and out, gave us excellent recommendations, and made sure our drinks were never empty. On the menu there is a chefs meal option where's its a set od dishes dor 20 dollars looks solid good for another 1 person wirh you to share.“

I don’t think I’ve seen a server as personable, competent, and willing to fulfill our wants and needs. He seems to go out of his way in order to make us feel welcome, and that no task is too small. He even made our kids happy! Any request they had, he was on top of. Very attentive, respectful, and polite! Maybe this guy should be a manager….? They are known for their Szechuan style cooking so spicy is their specialty! Tonight we had the frog, The salt and pepper shrimp, the ribs and The sweet-and-sour shrimp. We were so excited to finally find a chinese restaurant that is somewhat formal and provide good quality ingredients! I'm super picky with my meat (the , but the fresh meat, vegetables, and other ingredients truly satisfy my particular self. They never disappoint with the quality of the food and the temperature! We have tried at least 80% of their menu items, including the AYCE lunch menus, and our go-to items are: pan seared shrimp dumplings, dragon garlic spicy eggplants, singapore curry noodles, shrimp lo mein, spicy dry fried bamboo fish, numbing green peppercorn flounder, sesame chicken (it's online, not in the menu), and spicy kong pao chicken. The waitstaff and manager are all so nice in addition to the great food! We will continue to go back and we're so happy people are finding a good quality chinese food!“

“Top notch Chinese! This is my second visit here, first visit I only ordered shrimp fried rice. I’m so glad I returned. This place has it all, reasonable prices, excellent customer service, and quality and tasty meals. For my family I ordered fried chicken and fries for my son, shrimp egg foo young for my wife and I and orange chicken and fried rice for my older son. The store was filled with customers which had me excited. This is the spot! The cashier brought everyone’s takeout food to them with a smile on her face. It seemed like she knew all of her customers. I took my food home to my family and the food was phenomenal. Extra shrimp in the egg foo young, seasoned chicken wings, everything was great. I can’t wait to return to order more food. “Food was absolutely delicious and ready pretty quick! I got shrimp fried rice-- shrimp was large and well cooked! Very flavorful! I also got crab rangoon-- real crab meat and oh so good! I had to ask for the sweet and sour sauce for it, but the lady was polite and gave it to me. It was sooo crunchy, warm and delicious! And I got fried chicken wings.. and they nailed it!! It was crispy and cooked so well! Batter was delightful! Very good overall! I will come back!“

“I love this place! I've been here about five times now and it just keeps getting better. I always get just the basic AYCE for $27 and the meat is good for the price. The service is consistently good, and recently they added a make your own sauce bar, with a buffet of rice, noodles, fried rice, tons of vegetables and sides to choose from, as well as little cakes and ice cream included! Karaoke is always fun and the atmosphere is great.

Side note, they do validate parking but for 2 hours only. And they charge an additional $17 for food waste so be mindful of what you get. All in all, I recommend checking this place out!“

“Though this place has a couple tables, it spends its budget on the food versus space and decor. It keeps costs low by having a very small place down a side road. Parking is free and most times you can park right outside of it. They offer delivery but is popular for take out. The people at the counter are very nice. I recommend their Kung Pao chicken. “Stopped by Double Lucky Star after a friend told me about it, and now I’m hooked. The roast duck is outta this world — crispy skin, tender meat, just the right amount of seasoning. Their BBQ pork’s got that perfect sweet-salty balance too.

“The best soup dumplings / xiaolongbao in the DMV!! We have tried soup dumplings from Bobs Shanghai, Yus Noodles, A&J, and even the new Nan Xiang at Montgomery Mall, but we still keep coming back to Shanghai Taste.

Both their steamed soup dumplings and pan fried soup dumplings are absolutely delicious.

It is a small family owned restaurant. The service is quick, if not the most warm. The food is hot and delicious! Prices are great relative to their portions.“

“We needed to order for a large group with multiple food allergies on Christmas Eve. A difficult task. Hunan assured us that their kitchen practices would keep everyone safe, and they delivered on that promise!

We had no issues with finding menu options that were peanut, tree nut, and gluten allergy friendly. There was no jumping through hoops, and when we placed an online order they had sections to add food notes AND a separate section just for making note of allergies!

The food was delicious: all the dishes were well seasoned, the meat was very tender, and the portions were so generous! They also gave us so many fortune cookies! Thank you Hunan for feeding our family holiday celebration!“

“This is the most authentic chinese restaurant in Fairfax county. We had the best chinese new year dinner for our family of 10. Delicious food, good service, and very reasonable price. When i pre-ordered gluten free Peking duck they offered to pick up fresh Giant lobsters for our table. Can't comment on the fusion Chinese food, but the two dishes I order - Chongqing Chicken and Basil Eggplant - were authentic, well-seasoned, and not oily. They used enough dried chili pepper such that the spice penetrates into the fried chicken. They got all components of the dish right also including peanuts, the numbness from peppercorn, and even the aromatics garlic and ginger slices. The eggplant dish was superb as well. The sauce has a consistency sufficient to coat the eggplant, and the larger eggplant pieces in the dish still had structure to them, not completely mushy. Will be back for sure. I wish there were two menus though, one for authentic Chinese food and one for American Chinese.“

To be honest when I parked in the front I was skeptical but follow my willingness to discover new places but when I got in and received by a very kind staff and felt the yummy smell from the kitchen I thought it was going to be good!
