Truly impressive across the board - friendly, welcoming and FUN. Pete, Kelly and their team are true professionals; they love their work and make sure everyone feels welcome. Pete personally goes from table to table - when he's not joining the band/playing guitar! Kelly is wonderful, kind, warm, and consistently books the BEST bands around. Bartender Bo is indeed "super cool" and funny. Servers Mario and Andrea are helpful, attentive, efficient, and keep everyone very well-fed. Chef Pete (different one) regularly impresses with tasty appetizers, entrees, salads (Greek is a fave), desserts, and more. More than worth a visit - keep going back! I'm proud to be a regular (OK - groupie/super-fan) and my nights at Pete's are true weekend highlights. “I worked at yelp for 10 years and have visited so many restaurants as part of my work. Me and my co-worker recently dined at this Ethiopian place and it was a truly fantastic experience. The atmosphere was so inviting, and the food was incredible. Our waiter, Hamen, was a standout; her smile and eloquent explanations of the dishes added a special touch to our meal. She served us with passion and showed no signs of tiredness despite the extremely busy situation. This is an experience you barely find in many restaurants. Birndo is a must-visit. “Places in strip malls really have to work extra hard to make people forget they're in a strip mall, and this place doesn't quite get there. Food was good, not fantastic. The concept of dishes from different cities is not new and gives the impression they're not really skilled at any one thing. (Also cheese curds are yellow, not white, I'm from Wisconsin.) Service was fine. Layout is a little weird, trying to be both a sports bar and a restaurant and it doesn't really have room for both. If I'm in the neighborhood again, would repeat. Won't specifically seek it out.“

Only caveat is parking might be tough during peak hours. Be careful parking in Honey Pig and Rumba lots adjacent to 1943 Classic.“

From the time I make reservations through walking through the front door of the restaurant, the service, the managers, the chef, the food, to serving the BEST ITALIAN CUISINE SINCE ITALY, and cleanliness in the restrooms. Look, I live in Old Town Alexandria, VA, where there are some of the best Italian restaurants on the East Coast but those restaurants do not compare to my Maggiano’s. I seriously have to drive out of my way, Springfield, to get the Best Italian on the East Coast. It’s worth every second. The cuisine inside this Maggiano’s tastes exactly like my Italian grandparent’s cooked it. I frequent this restaurant at least once or twice a week.
