“Generally everything was good, I just wasn't as happy as I'd like to be for spending about $50 pp with tip for a beer, dinner, and shared appetizers. I will try to visit again and try the pho. Service was relatively quick. The place is very small and won't seat partial parties. It got quite crowded so be prepared.“
“Ordered off the lunch specials menu. Good selection, fast service. I like that they have tofu as on of their protein options. Tasty green curry and veggie spring rolls. Companion enjoyed chicken pad thai.Vegetarian options: Tofu is listed as one of the proteins-you don't have to ask for special prep of a dish without meat.Parking: Very limited parking midweek at 1pm.“
“I went to this place for my birthday and I have to say that it was a great experience. My family and I shared the Bún bò Huế (spicy noodles), hoành thánh chiên (fried wontons), Gà xào húng quế (Thai basil chicken), and Bánh hỏi đặc biệt (Vermicelli platter). The food was so good, my favorite was the Bánh hỏi đặc biệt. The owner went around to every table and checked up on everybody and our waters were being refilled constantly. Everyone was really nice. They don't typically do anything special for birthdays, but the owner gave me a free mango sticky rice!! Even after we paid and started to leave, the owner came out to us and recommended the ice cream place next door. I really appreciate family businesses and loved to see that traditional foods are still very accessible to people with dietary restrictions. I am 100% visiting again.Dietary restrictions: Many of their dishes can be made vegan easily and they have a glutton free menu.“
“This place was great. The service was good, the food came out fast and was really good. The only thing was that the noodles got soggy really fast. The banh mi was good. It was big and filled pretty well too. Overall a very good pho place and will probably come again sometime.“
“Best vegan restaurant in Washington DC. I like spending my outing time there. It’s an amazing place the staff are nice and welcoming. I prefer eating mom’s tofu & brown rice with a mango smoothie when I go there. Please try that I am sure you will love it.“
“I did a carry out. Being my first time, I was given recommendations by what looked to be an owner/operator. He was very accommodating as was the young lady present who was doing most of the cooking. The food were fresh and delicious. A huge thumbs up!“
“PhoWheels, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. PhoWheels has consistently amazing food, the friendliest staff in the world, and a totally unique fusion concept. I've had the pork belly tacos twice, the bo-khirria banh mi, and I just barely managed to make myself not order the pork belly tacos a third time so that I could try the oxtail pho tacos. Their pho was absolutely delicious - I liked it even more than the bo kho - and there was such a generous amount of oxtail in the tacos that I scooped part of it directly into the pho and just ate both dishes that way. Their meat is always so tender and well-seasoned. Their roti is perfect - so buttery and soft and flaky. It's worth every penny, and I'm always trying to convince people to try it. You won't regret it! Fair warning that the seating is all outdoors, so plan to get the food to go when the weather isn't nice, but it's a really convenient location right by the metro with plenty of parking around, so it's easy to get to, and the food travels well in my opinion. Eventually I'll manage to try everything on the menu, or maybe just order the pork belly tacos 14 more times.“
“Little Saigon in Falls Church near Eden Center is a gem. Upon entering, the cleanliness and charm of the venue, adorned with captivating photos of Saigon in the 60s, immediately stand out. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere, and it's evident that this is a family restaurant. The chicken pho is a standout, ranking among the best in the area, and complemented perfectly by the refreshing freshly squeezed lemonade.“
“The meal was exquisite. The dishes were well presented, creative and delicious as well as showing upon rather generous, dare we say it, North American portions. Our server (and others passing) was/were fantastic but we did sit at the bar and not at a table. This was a choice that we consciously made because we were celebrating our 19th anniversary sans children. Intimacy. A few reviews complain about price or the lack of selections on the menu. All we can say is: post-COVID prices have gone up significantly but that is true for everything that we, as a community, consume today. It might be harder to stomach the price increases for discretionary expenses like a fancy meal. In any event, please do not expect 1980s or even 2019 prices. Secondly, yep, it is pricey, but it is worth every centime. The "limited" menu is what really good restaurants do, not to gouge you, but to spoil you with a core set of dishes that will tantalite the palate of almost every true gourmand. NUE hits the mark rather well. Finally, one kink in the armor, is how food is served today and how waitstaff interact with customers. Partly caused by the clash of generations, e.g., servers and the served may have 30 to 40 years between them, partly because due to COVID the new wave apparently did not get to learn from the OGs who did not return to the hospitality business sector, and is likely partly due to the pace of life in the DMV as practiced by folks with maybe too much money. That service process part needs to be ironed-out, but it is not just an issue at NUE, but at most, if not all, DMV fine food establishments. We, for one, will be back to NUE very soon. We just need to save up for it and we won't have to wait a year.“
“This is simply the ultimate Vietnamese pho joint. Cash only. Service is lightning-fast and precise, and all ingredients are fresh. Remember, this is a Vietnamese pho restaurant. It's not about romantic dates. It's about satisfying hungry folks with scrumptious noodles. Instead of expecting lovely comments from the servers, I'm grateful for their efficient service. Some people genuinely enjoy their pho alone here. This place thrives on quick table turnover as people line up and wait for their turn. Cash transactions are handled upfront, and tipping goes straight into the tip jar. Parking might be challenging, but you can find street parking nearby.* I really hope to see more authentic local eateries in the DMV area that genuinely focus on their food and thrive on serving quality dishes.“
“Funny enough, this place was mentioned in a Reddit thread for hidden gems in DC. The food was highly praised, and the original poster gave a special shout out to the website (I highly recommend checking it out; it’s seriously a delight). This was enough for me to check it out for myself, and it was absolutely fantastic. Super reasonable prices, the girl who made my food was so sweet, and everything I had was delicious. I got a pork belly bahn mi and chicken spring rolls with peanut sauce.Solid food, solid experience ?“
“Hien was so welcoming and funny! We had amazing food in a relaxed atmosphere at an amazing price. I highly recommend the Vietnamese food options! We will definitely visit next time we are in DC.Kid-friendliness: We had four children with us and they accommodated their pickier palates without missing a beat.“
“This used to be my weekly Sunday pho spot back when I lived in MD. Even though I now live in DC, I still come back for their cold cut sandwiches and lemonade. The banh mi number 1 is delicious. Their pho and bo kho are also tasty. Service is always friendly and fast.“
“Wow, what a beautiful restaurant and the food was so delicious. I love the decor and plants. The staff is outstanding. Their attention to detail is amazing. I loved my dish. I had vegetarian crêpe and a garden roll for an appetizer. Both were delicious. Also, the Vietnamese coffee was yummy.“
“Today I was in this place, and my first impression when I saw the beef soup I ordered was that it was very good, abundant and light, we also ordered some wings with the sauces on the side, and the frying of the wings was on point, crispy and juicy inside, it has been a very good experience, pleasant music and very good service. We hope to return soon.“
“I went in to order food to go and it was so fast, maybe 10 mins tops before I got my food and was headed on my way. A few other reviews said the people working here have limited English, but the woman who took my order had no problem chatting with me while I waited - she was super nice and welcoming! The menu has an English side and a Vietnamese side that match up, so you can just show them the number of what you want if you ever run into anyone with limited English. I'm not familiar with many Vietnamese dishes, so I'm excited to come back and keep trying more since the tofu dish I got was SO good!Dietary restrictions: The whole menu is vegan“
“My family of 6 adults and one toddler went here on a Sunday Night. The food was absolutely delicious. One of the most tastiest and flavorful pho broths I’ve had in all of Northern Virginia. I got the crushed ginger (P2)The restaurant is small, but decorated beautifully with colorful lanterns on the ceiling as well as a beautiful cherry blossom tree in the corner. The only note I would make is I would prefer if there was music playing a *little* bit louder because it seemed too quiet inside. Our server went above and beyond to accommodate for our toddler, interacting with him and even giving him a quarter of a fresh avocado that was left over from a smoothie he made.I would definitely be coming back here because the pho outranks other pho places in the northern Virginia area.“
“Ordered shrimp garden rolls : they were pretty tasty. Little bit of wilted lettuce but good overall all. Fresh. A- Ordered shrimp fried rice : nothing special but good. C Ordered an everything pho (non seafood) : the soup came out Luke warm.. I was expecting a big bowl of "steamy" pho and received a bowl of disappointment... was sad.. D- Ordered the 76-86$seafood platter (forgot price) : Served on a huge tray. Again... food wasn't pipping hot as expected. Lobster was a tad bit rubbery. Shrimp were all small.. crab legs were average and both other crabs I ate were just ok.. meh. Everything was DRENCHED in garlic. I love garlic but damnnnn, I like to taste seafood too. Crawdads produce little meat. D Service was nice . A Overall sadly I will not be dining back at crabby noodles. Perhaps in a year or so I'll try again. "D" grade..“
“This Vietnamese restaurant boasts a modern decor complemented by traditional twists, delectable dishes, and attentive service from the owner.Parking: Locates inside Eden Center where it has a big parking lot, though it gets really crowded on the weekends.“
“The food is absolutely delicious and authentic! Highly recommend this place. Some recommendations for improvement I have for the owner: 1/Update the menu by adding symbols on spicy food/levels, 2/Have a sign 'wait here to be seated' so new customers understand they are not being ignored, 3/Have a sign at the staff table saying 'pay here' to clarify that customer need to go up there and ask to pay.“
“The service is quick and on top of it. Not very big and can get busy. Do alot of carryout. The small pho ga is delicious and plenty of food. That is the go to. Also like the summer or spring rolls to start out. The rice dishes are good as well. Definite place to visit for pho in Burke!!“
“The only Com Tam Thit Nuong I've had that's better than this is my own Mom's cooking. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and now I take my own kids here. You absolutely can't beat the grilled meats with the runny egg on top ? sooooo good!“
“The food was very good and the service is speedy. Nice menu with some interesting choices. I had the rice noodle bowl with chicken and spring roll. I've had this dish many times at many other Vietnamese spots. This one was very good. Too many bean sprouts in my opinion. But, I don't like bean sprouts. Great sour/spicy fish sauce. The chicken was not dry and had good flavor. I will go back to try some other things.“
“Their banh cuon is freshly made and delicious. Staffs are super friendly. We also often order take out trays for family parties. It’s much easier to park in the back lot of Eden center and they are the first store from one of the back entrances.“
“I’ve been on the hunt for authentic, mouth drooling bun rieu and the quest has been lackluster until I found this place. Walked in and immediately greeted by a lovely auntie, the owner and chef. She told me it’s a one woman show, and I can tell she put a lot of love in her cooking the moment my bowl came out! The crab meatball was massive and you can tell she used lump crab meat! There was also a unique herb that I haven’t seen provided. I can tell she doesn’t skimp on quality! Honestly, the prices were reasonable given the portion and quality.Even the complimentary iced tea provided was top shelf! It was pandan infused green tea that she said she imported from Vietnam from her personal family. Wow wow I’ll be back to support her!“
“We ordered the beef meatball pho and pork chop with rice. Pho was not bad. It wasn't too strong on the msg but also wasn't too clear. Rice dish wasn't too salty and pretty balanced. Food quality was ok. Price was also ok for the portions that they gave us. Overall, not bad experience 4/5“
“Tai was great and provided wonderful service. The spring rolls and vegetarian rolls were amazing along with the garlic fried spare ribs. Spicy beef noodle soup had my wife who hates fishy broths but the base for her soup was perfectly flavored. The prices were really good and we feed a family of 4 with 4 drinks and 1 cocktail for about $40pp.Oh I forgot I had the Pad Thai which was saucy and had a nice meat to noodle ratio.“
“This spot is legit when it comes to Vietnamese food. It is a little pricier than the usual spots, but it is well worth it, and you can taste the quality of ingredients they use.The service is awesome, and they are very efficient.I love watching the Vietnamese cooking shows and the fish tank while I enjoy a meal.Try the Salted Plum Soda, it's my fav, I always get it to go for later, as I am so full after my meal.“
“Really solid food all around. Pho is always a hot topic for what place has the best, but this place is incredibly good. If it helps, I'm Vietnamese as well.Rice dishes, fried spring rolls, and fresh summer rolls (excuse my calling them by their weird English names) are all also great!Additionally, we keep returning for that and their great service and attentiveness and patience since we had kiddos, as well. Being kid friendly is a huge plus for us!Vegetarian options: Vietnamese food often has vegetarian options that are solid, and this place has them listed.Parking: Shared parking lot space with the neighboring businesses.Kid-friendliness: They're welcoming, helpful, and patient. Because they're really friendly about it all is why we return and tip so well.“
“I enjoyed their seafood noodle. It's stir fry style with thin noodles. Ingredients were fresh and sauce was so good. I liked how they didnt make the dish salty as the most of restaurants often do. A good amount of large calamri, scallops, and shrimps were in the dish. I will definitely order this noodle again. I will go back for seafood fried rice next time. Also, they had a nice Vietnamese iced coffee. It was strong and sweet with cream as it should be. I liked it very much.“
“Things to note:* only pho soup* can order small or large* can add a bowl of noodles on the side* cash only* no veggie soup options; so don’t ask* family/large group friendly restaurant* parking can be limited and people tend to drive a little recklessly —> so park far and walk off the extra noodle carbs on the way back. It’s fantastic, flavorful, and fresh! The noodles are great, the meat is tender, the coffee ????? slaps. I got the iced Vietnamese coffee with the crack- milk (condensed milk). It’s a family restaurant. Big groups, kids, and hungover college students reside here.Service is quick. Sat down, ordered, food came out in 5 minutes! And it was packed!Once you’re done, just go up to the counter and pay. Cash only. You can walk next door and grab rice cakes, tapioca cakes, or sesame balls. Can also grab Bahn mi for dinner later. The ? is ???.“
“Why hasn’t anyone raved about their Bo la lot? This place smells like heaven when you walk by it. So much that is how I got drawn in. The beef is so juicy and tender. And the sauce that comes with it is delicious, it has hints of ginger and garlic. Definitely a must try. I grab a tray to go every time I am in Eden Center.“
“I ate here a few times now, I had both chicken pho and regular pho, they are very solid. Everyone has different expectations on what pho should taste like but to me pho here is good. The broth is flavorful and the dipping sauce is also good, so no complaints on the flavor. The service is good. They are fairly quick. Each time I eat we have no less than 5 people and from order to have food on table is about 15 minutes. Over all, this is a good place for pho especially chicken pho.“
“The food is great! If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine this is the place to go. The restaurant itself has a relaxing atmosphere. The lady owning the place is extremely nice, she even gave us a tour of the kitchen since it wasn’t busy. I can’t praise it enough.“
“I have eaten here a few times and am eager to return! Vegitarians and carnivores alike will be at ease here. Alex is an easy going, attentive professional who adds just the right touch to this establishment. The pho is the best I've had in this country. The spring rolls are crispy, generously filled and are available in 3 flavors including vegetarian. The pho broths also offer a number of different tasty bases including incredible ox tail and vegetables. One person I dined there with was very happy with their shrimp bowl. My son is a full on pho connoisseur and rates this place as a strong 2nd favorite in the country. It's not a place you go for the ambiance though it's not at all distasteful, just simple. If you are a sauce fan, ie for spring rolls, don't hesitate to order a second container.“
“Went here for lunch on a weekday, so it was not busy at all which I love. My family comes here to eat whenever we go to Eden. We got a bun mang vit and com tam bi suon cha. They came out pretty quickly. Loved both dishes! So delicious! Make sure you dip the duck meat in the ginger sauce, soooo good. The duck meat is nothing without the sauce that it comes with. My husband loved his com tam as well. Meat was well marinated.“
“Excellent and friendly customer service with delicous fresh pho. I stumbled upon this little place randomly as I like to explore little side streets. Their location is near the Wheaton Metro. A very cold day arrived and I didn't want to cook so enter Pho cravings. They did not disappoint and were extremely willing to accomodate me as I literally came in about 5 minutes before closing. Brought the pho home and it was delicious. I followed the recommendations of other reviews and ordered: Saigonese Golden Crepe - Banh Xeo Hue Spicy Lemon Grass Beef Soup - Bun Bo Hue Fried Imperial Rolls Pho Tái*, Gầu . slices of eye-of-round steak and fat brisket Everything was delicious (especially the crepe...though it is big). Will definitely be back to try the Bahn Mi and other non-Pho items.“
“Their nem nuong is a solid choice for lunch or dinner; whenever I am at Eden, I always order some for my husband. Their nem nuong is made fresh to order, and takes roughly 15-20 minutes to be ready. It is served with a special orange sauce, that is different from your typical peanut sauce or nuoc mam. It contains a grilled baked pork, lettuce, herbs, and a crunchy egg wrapper INSIDE the roll. The crunch egg wrapper is made different with each place that you go, but will always be the best ingredient in your nem nuong roll.“
“This place makes really good food. We enjoy coming here to have their lomein, and we have also tried their chicken dumplings, and teriyaki chicken and beef. Totally recommend the dumplings, which are also at a very affordable price ($4 for 5 pan friend or $3.50 steamed). Their beef lomein is extremely savory and just like a place that was in Ballston area (brings good memories!!), their chicken teriyaki is okay, not the best but not the worst either. Give them a shot. Also very happy about ordering on a screen (or you can also go to the counter), as some of us have social anxiety and it is a good option in case people don't want to interact much with anyone.“
