“My husband and I were stationed in Italy for 4 years. While there we learned that American interpretation of Italian food is way off. After we left Italy in 1995, we only found three places that serve meals that reminded us of the food we had in Italy. One in St. Louis, one in Swaffham, Norfolk in the UK, and one right here in Mechanicsville, VA. , and not a one is Olive Garden (which has nothing remotely similar to true Italian food). Angel is a master chef, he and his wife Carla prepare and serve meals that are made fresh daily and remind us of the meals we had in Italy. We have been going here for eight years and have enjoyed every meal. Yes we tried a couple other places in the Richmond area, however they do not even come close to the quality of fresh, and perfectly flavored meals. We decided no where else is as good. Pasta House is a hidden gem and a well kept secret.“

“Friend and I had a girl's night at the Lillian last night. We enjoyed the Ceviche Jipijapa and a caviar slider to start. This was my first time having caviar and it was delicious with the creme fraiche it came with. The ceviche was a flavor combo that I would never have thought of, and it was wonderful...we ate every bite. I had the Ecuadorian inspired seafood rice and the Honey Roasted a duck legs. When I tell you those duck legs were juicy and cooked to perfection, and the attention to detail, the little leaves of cabbage had hints of clove and cinnamon. The Seafood rice had a touch of heat to accentuate the complex flavor profile of the meats and seasonings. The service was engaging and prompt and the atmosphere was warm/relaxing. Definitely suggest this place for a great meal and experience. Will be coming here again!“

“Amazing, fresh food. I had the shrimp po boy for the first time ever and the garlic fries. I also tried the fried oysters and onion rings. Everything was very fresh and delicious, and you can tell they make your food with care. It’s also worth mentioning that you get a footlong, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. “We had an early Christmas Eve dinner at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. It was one of the best meals that we have had in Richmond. The atmosphere was delightful, enhanced by the duo playing holiday music; the food was excellent (as usual) but what made this a truly wonderful dining experience was the service. Our server, Trinity, was upbeat, efficient, and most of all really seemed to care if we were having a good meal. Without being intrusive, she checked on us several times to be sure we were doing ok. “I stopped by Parks Combo 2 in Richmond, and it’s one of those small local spots that feels like a true neighborhood classic. The place is simple and casual, but the food is hearty and full of flavor.

I ordered one of their combo sandwiches with fries, and the portion was generous and really satisfying. They’re especially known for items like the bologna burger and pork steak sandwiches, which have a nice grilled flavor and classic comfort-food vibe.

The owner is the nicest man, greets everyone that walks through the door. There was a couple walking up the stairs in front of us as we went in, and when we got to the door, a waitress said “I need that cup” and yanked it out of the woman’s hand as she walked off. She was the same waitress that sat us, but not who took our order. The waitress who took our order was extremely rude almost the entire time. A couple of times she brought food out and put it on our table AS she’s walking by. I stopped her once, to ask if we could have our bread warmed as it was cold. She barely stopped as she said “no.” And continued walking. The waitresses were rude and made me feel so uncomfortable with their terrible attitudes. Atmosphere is a little cramped but it was fine. The food was AMAZING though. It was really hot, and the pasta portions were GENEROUS.“

He checked on all the tables he had often and with a smile. The FOOOOD was amazing. We had pani puri, samosas, the dip trio which he suggested and we all loved! It was $20, and they seasoned and steamed them for us. We took them home, melted our own butter, and my son and I ate our fill! They were delicious! “I live Yoshi Sushi! They have always given me great service and very tasty food. I worked with sushi restaurants for about 10 years and I can say that the quality is great for the price. I always get the Tropical roll, it’s like dessert. The sushi rice is delicious, cooked just right. Nothing worse than sushi with overcooked rice. The foods that come from the kitchen are also great.
