“I wanted a nice Chinese buffet lunch. I looked up this restaurant that I used to visit frequently. Google map information stated there would be a lunch buffet. There is NO LUNCH BUFFET.This information should be updated.I was disappointed but decided to eat anyway.I think they’re only open from 11 to 2 for dine in. A sign on the door said take out only (at certain times).I ordered a bowl of hot and sour soup ($3.50) and the mixed appetizer plate ($10).The soup was okay but not great. It was a small cup of soup and I thought it wasn’t much considering the 3.50 price. It had plenty of tofu and bamboo shoots but not much meat, though there was some. The flavor was not balanced either; it was needed more of the vinegar flavor. The appetizer platter was excellent. The egg roll was huge and stuffed full of various ingredients including tiny shrimp. It was hot and crunchy outside. The wontons were fried perfectly and were also very tasty. The beef skewer was average. It didn’t have much flavor and was not tender. The shrimp was shaped into a circle and at first I thought it was an onion ring. The chicken was a nice piece of chicken breast but it had too much breading on it for my taste. Five stars for this dish. The appetizer platter was served with small pitchers of duck sauce and spicy mustard sauce.I drank water and the wait staff did a pretty good job keeping my glass full. I could have had a few more refills but I understand they’ve got a lot to do.For some reason I didn’t have any napkins at my table, just the silverware. I had to request napkins.“

“I hope you go in wearing flip flops because this food is going to knock your socks off. Fast, tasty and relatively cheap. Definitely a place I would stop again. I got the Orange chicken and that was great almost too much to eat. My nephew got the braised beef and demolished it. Only missing a star on atmosphere becuase of the location and the vibe as a kitchen corner. Still 5 star food“

“May have finally found the most authentic Thai in the Milwaukee area. Their menu is a bit limited (only 2 curries offered) but it seems that everything they offer is delicious. My go-to is tofu pad see ew and it was so flavorful and moist. My friend got the pork belly and I tried a bite, the dipping sauce is so dang good. The dessert was delicious as well. The portions are huge and it's reasonably priced. There were a good amount of people on a Friday night. Service was great. Would definitely come back!“

“Cool little spot to try some Nepalese or Chinese. At first, I was confused because they show up as two different places. The Chinese and Nepalese restaurant are combined. When you sit down, the waitress brings two menus, which is interesting. I had some cauliflower curry from the Nepalese menu, and it was DELICIOUS! There was lots of ginger and heavy spices (which I appreciate). The rice was over cooked and the chai tea tasted like it was from an instant mix, but the curry was so good that it overrode those drawbacks in my rating.“

“Went there today for Easter dinner. Way easier than cooking. We pre-ordered and it was ready on time. Unfortunately, when we got home there were no sauces or fortune cookies. My friend called and they sent someone right away with no charge. Sure, the sauces should have been included to begin with, but they did make it right with a smile ☺. And, the food was terrific. Great food and great customer service. Will definitely order again, and check for sauces next time. Thanks“

“Have been ordering from this place since it opened and I have never been disappointed. It is one of the best American Chinese food places on this side of Wisconsin. The ingredients always taste fresh and delicious, with generous takeout portions. They don't skimp on the meat or seafood! I have kids that are picky eaters and they love the shrimp with broccoli and the egg rolls the most. My kid who always asks for only peanut butter sandwiches all day will quietly chow down on the rice and broccoli, then invite the shrimp to the belly party. Another of my kids didn't even know until today that egg rolls are full of cabbage (stuff she doesn't like to eat if I make it at home) and just raised her eyebrows and said "well I love cabbage then!" and continued to eat the whole egg roll up as usual. The staff are always polite and friendly, food is made to order and ready quickly. My family and I really enjoy the food and the takeout experience.“

“I am a Chinese food aficionado having grown up in New York City. Chinese food comes in four varieties, and Kings Wok excels in two of them: Cantonese and Sichuan. There are hundreds of Chinese restaurants in Milwaukee and I only have ranked Fortune on Highway 100 the only remaining five star Chinese restaurant. That was until I discovered Kings Wok We live very nearby this restaurant, but have always gone to a place in Mequon. I should point out that for the last five years we have only been doing takeout for Chinese food. Kings Wok was a revelation. We went there because of the weather. We wanted to stay close by home. I can't believe we haven't been here since it opened. I haven't heard much about it from anybody. It might be the best Chinese restaurant in the north shore. There is plenty of parking for your pick up, and they are always on time with their orders. There are many features that this restaurant has in terms of food and ordering that make it extremely desirable. Fortune has absolutely the best website of any restaurant you will find. This restaurant has no website for ordering, but if they do, I recommend they find out who designed Forrtune's website and use them. While ordering by phone is not difficult, they are often busy and the order gets rushed. There is a lot of noise in the background as well. The menu is extensive, and I recommend that you pick up a print menu when picking up your first order as it is much easier to envision than the one on the Internet. Both are quite complete. One of the beauties of the Kings Wok menu choices is that many of the entrées are offered as pints or quarts. So basically, you can order the equivalent of an half order compared with ordering only full orders from other restaurants. The portions are quite generous in general, so start with the half orders, and in subsequent orders, if you need more generous servings, then go to the quarts. Further, the menu is laid out beautifully, the categories are clear, and the ingredients of each dish are made very clear. The intensity of the dish in terms of heat is also rated. There is a special lunch menu at a very reasonable price. And there are combination plates for the dinner entrée, very reasonably priced and very generous portions. Now to the food. I find myself ordering the exact same thing every time and I've tried recently to try other dishes that I like. Highly recommend the wonton soup, egg drop soup, and appetizer pork. I haven't had the eggroll, but they look very good. Fried rice is always a benchmark test for me at any Chinese restaurant I go to. This is excellent fried rice. I usually get the pork fried rice which is excellent, but my wife likes shrimp fried rice. We tried it and the shrimp are of the larger size than normally found in fried rice, and are excellent. All of the entrées we've tried, and our guests have tried, have been outstanding. I've tried the twice cooked pork, the pork with vegetables, moo shu pork, beef with snow peas, shrimp with mushrooms, and they were all outstanding. For true disclosure, the only negative that I can find is that the pork runs a bit fatty. I think they are using loin or shoulder as opposed to tenderloin. Other than that, no complaints. All containers are labeled and they use no staples in their packaging which is a pet peeve of mine. Kings Wok is a small restaurant in a strip center of many stores. It is easily overlooked. if you are a Chinese food lover, as I am, DO NOT OVERLOOK IT!“

“An important part of moving to a new neighborhood is finding your reliable Chinese restaurant that you can reach for on nights where you want comfort food or just don't want to cook. Wing's is fast, good quality and the food is always fresh. I recommend calling ahead so you don't have to wait, but I've never had to wait that long anyway. I highly recommend the General and Mandarin chicken but all of their staple dishes are as you'd expect.“

“Carry out only here. Do not panic like me if they don't answer their phone right away. The line is busy, it took me like 4 calls to get through and place my order. We got shrimp egg rolls, crab rangoon, general tso's chicken, and the seasame chicken platter which came with a pork egg roll and pork fried rice. My boyfriend loved the shrimp egg rolls and general tso. He didn't care for the crab Rangoon but I liked them a lot! The pork fried rice was good but I prefer my fried rice without peas and carrots. The portions are massive! We would definitely order from here again. The food is good and affordable. When I went to pick up the food, I realized I hadn't given them my name. Then I learned, they identify people with their phone number. When my food was ready, they called out the last 4 digits of my phone number.“

“Delicious Chinese food. I had the General Tso Chicken, Chicken and snow peas, Shrimp fried rice, Peking Dumplings and egg rolls. Everything was fresh and flavorful. They also deliver within a 5 mile radius. The service was great. We are always greeted nicely by the cashier who was friendly and courteous. The staff/ family here work very hard and it shows. Peking Garden has been a West Allis favorite of ours for 10+ years.“

“Quick, delicious, plentiful Chinese food. You get two entrees and a rice or noodle side for $8.95. The styrofoam container is packed! I usually make two meals out of one order. Currently there is only take out. We’ve gone early, mid day and in the evening. It’s always hot and tasty. Not dried out. It’s become our favorite place for reliable Chinese takeout.“

“Yen Ching is a sure bet for absolute quality consistency and top notch freshness and flavor. Even if I didn’t work in the same plaza, I would undoubtedly make the trip for lunch or dinner (tues-sat) or particularly if I were hosting friends in the mood for the best Chinese around the city. Pepper Beef tops my list of items (tried half the menu so far), and you will not find better Crab Rangoon anywhere else. GET EVERYTHING!“

“I knew my night would be crazy, so I placed a to go order to make sure I got in dinner early. My order consisted of beef pad see ew and pork egg rolls. The pork egg rolls were fantastic. Really good size, fresh ingredients, and amazing flavor. I would order these again in a heartbeat. The pad see ew is ok. I didn't think there was enough egg in it, I wasn't overly fond of the white onion, and both the broccoli and carrot seemed like they were added afterwards and not cooked in the sauce with the noodles and beef because they were harder than expected and didn't absorb any of the flavor of the sauce. Certainly not my favorite pad see ew in the area, but I wouldn't be opposed to getting it again.“

“First I’d like to say.. The customer service is amazing, you can tell the food is made and packed with love. The flavor is 10/10 for the Kung pao chicken, however my only complaint was the texture of the chicken was a little tough. The hot and sour soup 8/10, needed a little more kick to it but still good and great ingredients. Cream cheese puff (crab Rangoon) flavor was there just wasn’t 100% freshly fried, 8.5/10. Overall rating 8/10. Will be back just based off flavor and customer service alone. The place for dine in is small and not appealing, when you walk in you can tell it’s more so take out based however overall cleanliness of the facility 9/10.“

“Best Chinese food ever! I love this place always will. Homemade egg rolls, sweet and sour sauce. Nothing like these other commercialized restaurants in the area. My mom has been coming here since the 70’s and Jim knows us by name when we visit.“

“I've been getting food from here for years. It's great that you see your food being made. The quality food is good and always consistent. The only most recent thing is the gentleman that takes your order goes off if you ask for chopsticks with your order.“
“I always order from them and love their food. I always get their shrimp fried rice. The only place that puts big shrimp in their fried rice. Their fried chickens r amazing. Perfect coating and fried. Love how they take good care of packing up my order. They are always sweet and nice to me every time I pick up my order. Thank you for such good service and food.“

“The food was fresh and tasted great! However, that wasn't the best part for me. The best part was the outstanding customer service. This seems to be a family owned business and the lady running the place when I stopped through was super nice and tried her absolute best to make sure I had a good experience. At the end, she explained to me that their goal is to cater to the customer's needs and make it feel like home. I'd say the succeeded! I love small family owned businesses like this and will be coming back! :-)“

“WOW - WOW - WOW. China Gourmet is a very inconspicuous little restaurant (it's quite big inside) with really no frills or over the top atmosphere situated right across the street from the Pabst Theater. We were in a hurry to get something to eat before catching the comedy show across the street and we stumbled across China Gourmet. Our server (unfortunately I didn't catch his name) was so kind when taking our order and fast fast fast with the service. I genuinely dislike when people say "this is the best..." or "this is the worst..." BUT this was absolutely the most flavorful Chinese food I have ever had. The menu choices, which there were a ton of, were nondescript and not unlike what you would find at almost any Chinese restaurant, BUT the flavor profiles were ridiculous. Something as simple as pan fried noodles and fried rice which are normally compliments to the meal could have easily been the main meal. So fresh and so delicious. I had Kung Pao Beef and the sauce was so savory, I literally took the serving spoon and finished it off like a soup. If you're in town or going to a show at the Pabst Theater, don't bother with all the other options that are flashy and fancy; go to China Gourmet for the delicious food and the wonderful service.“

“My husband and I stopped here craving Chinese food and it did not disappoint! We ordered calamari as an appetizer, which was so fresh and tasty. For drinks we had the famous Mai Tai- delicious, and a fresh beer. For our main course, I was craving something similar to a seafood delight, our waitress told me to try the seafood and beef dish, which was better than what I was craving. We also ordered the shrimp Lo mein, which was also very good and the hot and sour soup which was a thicker base and very delicious. To be honest, at first we thought the prices may be a little high, but with the amount of food you get the prices are more than generous and fair. When they give you the check they also give you a small ice cream to taste which was so good! We were very impressed with how clean the restaurant was, you can tell the owners take great pride in their establishment. The decor was fitting for the restaurant and we enjoyed the dimmed lighting. We really enjoyed Emperor Of China and can't wait to stop in next time we're in Milwaukee.“

“This was our first time dining here and our server, Don, was very friendly and helpful with giving us recommendations. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the option of having two menus/cuisines to choose from. I definitely recommend giving this place a try, and I look forward to coming back here again!“

“This is VERY good, fresh tasting takeout food. It scratches our Chinese-take-out cravings every time! Hot and sour soup is so good - craved when I had a cold; it’s curing! And they don’t skimp on veggies in the veggie fried rice, either. To be clear, I’m not commenting on authenticity, but it’s just as good (if not better) than the Chinese take out we ordered while living in NYC. Also, I wonder if people know how much their 2 or 3 star reviews that are out of context or unrealistic expectation-wise hurt small local businesses? Let’s stay positive, folks. Support your local spots!“
