“It's absolutely worth making a detour for some of the best donuts I've ever had. The donuts are incredibly fluffy yet moist, and the fillings are rich in flavor without being overly sweet. I tried the strawberry, custard, milk cream, lemon, Oreo, and maple pecan varieties. My personal favorites were the lemon and milk cream, although every flavor I tried was delicious.

You can find their donuts at some of the cafés they partner with, but this is the only location that carries the full lineup of flavors, so it's definitely worth visiting the original shop.

“How did I not see sooner that this little gem of a cafe was so close to my place? I ordered their chicken soup and it was delicious! A large portion of chicken, flavourful broth and piping hot. Can’t wait to come back and try everything on the menu! Very relaxing space and kind owners too. 💛“

“Such a beautiful cafe/flower shop! I think the atmosphere of the cafe, including the presentation of food/drinks and Photo Booth ($10 for two 4-picture prints). They had a lot of options that looked really great but I tried the Andsome Croffle and Iced Cream Coffee Latte. I’m not the biggest fan of croissants so I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the croffle, but it actually was pretty good. It could’ve done with some syrup but the ice cream made some parts of it sweet enough for me. Very small for the price though!! For the drink, it just tasted like a regular non-flavoured latte but once the ice cream melted it was sweeter, still nothing special. My friend tried the Injeolmi Cream Coffee Latte, which she really enjoyed and it made me regret my order lol. Would definitely come back and try other items on the menu! FYI, they have a limit of 2hr seating time.“

“Found Piknic on Wayz while looking for a coffee shop. What a gem! Excellent food and service. The egg salad sandwich was HUGE and oh so tasty. The chicken salad (it’s a salad) was substantial and also very tasty. The vanilla latte (hot) was very yummy. Highly recommend.“

“The barista was so nice and helpful! The pastries were delicious (almond croissant, cookie and a spinach and feta pastry) and flakey. I asked about gluten free options for a friend and staff was so educated and honest, they had gluten free but couldn’t guarantee it had never been touched by flour, it was so nice to have that information as my friend is extremely sensitive. Overall a 10/10“

“Delhi Bakery’s bun kulcha is absolutely delicious and full of authentic taste. The bun is soft, fresh, and perfectly baked with great flavour. The staff is very friendly, and the girl working there is especially polite and nice to customers. Service is quick and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Definitely a place worth visiting again for tasty food.“

“This is kind of an average coffee shop, sort of old school. You can get a sandwich just like you would at home. They have some treats like muffins, banana bread, that sort of thing. They have the full line of coffees. I had a hot Americano and it was pretty good. I had a turkey sandwich, and it was okay. The service is really friendly, and one thing I liked about the place a lot was that they had chairs where a big backside could fit, but also chairs with padding on them. It makes it a big difference if you're sitting for more than an hour.“

“I have tried a lot of matcha in Calgary and surrounding area but Cafe Eight takes the top spot for my favourite matcha outside of Japan! They are always consistent and reliably delicious. Just look at that colour! The staff are friendly and welcoming, as is the clean modern decor. I highly recommend the iced strawberry or mango matcha. And thank you to the owner for reminding my husband that I like it with oat milk! ☺“

The gentleman behind the counter was more than welcoming and allowed me to use his washroom. We decided the place smelled amazing and he was so friendly that we ordered the pepperoni flatbread to go. “It's our first time having brunch at this place. Reservation is preferred. We found street parking nearby. The staff was welcoming. We're glad to be seated at the corner table, which was more spacious - good for a 16 months old sat between his parents. The price of the foods were very reasonable and came with great varieties and flexibility to suit our different tastes. We all loved our own pick of dishes. Even the toddler loved his kid's meal and fresh fruits side dish. It's a very enjoyable brunch experience for us. We'll surely recommend this cafe to our friends. Good job!“

“Such a cute little mom and pop hole in the wall spot. I came in craving a good breakfast and ordered the Yummy Breakfast and it absolutely hit the spot. The price was amazing for how much food you get and I was completely full when I left.

They brought us some homemade jam and it was so good. If I could have bought a jar to take home, I definitely would have. The over easy eggs were cooked perfectly, exactly how I asked for them.

The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can really tell they care about their customers. They were happy to help, very friendly, and provided excellent service the whole time we were there.

I will definitely be back to try more things on their menu. Highly recommend if you are looking for a cozy breakfast spot with great food and even better people.“

“Today I headed down to Gravity Calgary to get some prep done for my upcoming show. I had my favorite dish of theirs called the Jamaican Pie! (Their award winning Vegetable Quiche is my second favourite dish). I paired the pie with their delicious Sweet Potato soup and had Gravity’s Coffee flavour “Insomnia”. It was pay what you want for the coffee day. I cannot rave more about this place. The staff are always cheerful and welcoming. The owner, Andy is so supportive of myself and other local Musicians. There is an amazing Jazz Jam here on Sundays from approximately 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. (Don’t quote me on the time though.) This place is awesome!“

I love how it is tucked away in the neighbourhood while being close to the university and other shopping areas.

One con is I wish it stayed open later so I could come after work.

But one of the best places for all kinds of cake! My friends know me to be quite picky with cake as I do a lot of at home baking, but this place always knocks it out of the ballpark! A homerun everytime.“
