I first discovered this place while working DoorDash. Joel, the owner, greeted me with a level of warmth and respect that stopped me in my tracks. Not a nod, not a glance — real acknowledgment. The kind that makes you feel like a person, not just a transaction. I noticed the cookies looked incredible, made a mental note, and told myself I'd be back as a customer one day.

A day or two later, I got another DoorDash order — same location. Joel greeted me again, just as warm, just as genuine. We were approaching Father's Day and we talked about family, about fatherhood. He told me to bring my son in. I gave him my word.

I kept it.

After a milestone moment with my son, I told him — this is where we're celebrating. When we walked in, Joel's wife welcomed us before he appeared from the back, genuinely surprised and happy to see us. What followed wasn't a transaction. It was a conversation — man to man, father to father. Joel shared his story, why he opened the shop, his passions, his three kids. He dropped real wisdom, the kind you only get from someone who has lived and learned and chose to pour it forward.

Then came the Cookies and Cream — loaded with Oreo cookies, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, topped with cream cheese frosting, chocolate drizzle, and dusted with more Oreos. Joel walked me through his process like a craftsman proud of his work. That cookie was filling, beautiful, and — I say this as someone who bakes from a treasured family recipe — one of the best I have ever had. It was a very close challenger to my own, and that is not something I say lightly.

The price point is perfect. The free toppings push it over the edge. The product punches far above its class.
But the product, as good as it is, is not even the headline.
Joel is. He is the kind of human being that is genuinely rare to encounter in 2026 — authentic, grounded, kind without an agenda, and a model of what a man, a father, and a business owner can look like at their best. He made me and my son feel valued, welcomed, and remembered. That is not something you manufacture. That is character.

The Kind Cookies Bar needs to expand — Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, San Tan Valley, Scottsdale. The Valley deserves to know about this place.

“They make them fresh so there is a bit of a wait but they had the magic school bus playing on the TV, a tic tac toe game board and a puzzle to distract you. My husband and I played a few rounds of tic tac toe and attempted to help on the puzzle, that was difficult lol staff was friendly and happy to explain what chimney cake were. There were alot of options so it was nice to customize. I got a cinnamon sugar chimney cake bowl with Bavarian cream, reeses cups pieces and caramel sauce. The hubby got biscoff coated cone with pistachio cream and nutella sauce. We got a punch card, so we will have to come back!“

I’m finding out that the coffee taste differs from location to location.
Yesterday we went to the one on Southern and Signal butte.
The taste and the service is much better here.
