“When Crumbl came to my neighborhood several years ago, our family tried it a number of times with mixed results. After staying away for a while, we went back tonight. I was happily surprised by a few things! They now have mini cookies (not just for catering anymore-. I'd had them at weddings and showers, and the mini are more to my liking), and the flavors/textures today were better. I especially appreciated the young man at the counter, Luke, who patiently and helpfully answered my many questions about some of the changes since I had last been. I will be back sooner, and I hope Luke will be there to help!“

“Aaron and his team at The Velvet Buttercream created the most fun and spectacularly delicious Groom's cake for my daughter's wedding this past weekend! It was a huge surprise to the groom, and loved by the golfing crowd that attended the wedding. I could not have chosen a more fun way to surprise them! “He worked at BOWIE BAKERY in El Paso Texas. They make the best pan dulce. He knows how to make it their way, and it is the best in Phoenix. He's the nicest man. He is very friendly, very pleasant, and so are the rest of the family that work there. Very inexpensive. I recommend the ginger bread piggies. The marranitos as we call them, the conches too. Try it, it is worth it“

“Trying some new bakeries and breakfast spots around Arcadia and stopped by Essence for a bite this past week.

I ordered the Egg Sandwich and thought it was delicious. The bun was so soft and eggs were cooked perfectly. The French Scrambled Eggs went well with the baguette, which also came with a jam that was to die for. I could eat this breakfast every day! The coffee and pastry didn’t disappoint either!“

“I had noticed R & B on my new drive to work down 7th St. and wanted to try it. It did not disappoint. Orly, the owner was a treat to speak with. I was lucky enough to arrive as bagel came out of the oven. I ordered an Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese. She let me know they only use fresh ingredients and I was amazed by the sheer size of the bagel. I was fortunate enough to share half with a workmate and he agreed that it's the freshest bagel we've had in the valley. Will return for bagels and to try the amazing parties in the cases there!“

“We tried this bakery and we were not disappointed. The cashier said they are a Polish bakery. Lots of pastries and some breads. They had a fresh apple pie, which they said was not typical for the summer, as an order was cancelled. I look forward to going back in the fall to see what other pies they offer!“

“I slipped into the bakery in search of a latte to pick me up for my ride home. I didn’t find the latte but I did find THE BEST gluten free apple pie I have ever had!!! Their Simply Caramel Apple Pie is heavenly!!! The crust was SO flaky and buttery tasting and the filling was amazing!!! I haven’t had crust that flaky EVER!!! I only intended to eat half of it but I couldn’t stop myself from eating the whole thing!!! If you’re ever in the area you should give them a try.“

“First time at Sweet Land Cakes. Had the Pavo which had shredded turkey and cheese with a choice of mayo and/or mustard on it. Very flavorful though a bit dry! Bread was very good, slightly sweet and soft. The service was friendly but it took awhile for the lady to come out of the back. Pastries were very good as well.“
