“Best experience in a restaurant in a long time! Walked in and there was a wait. No issues. They worked around and we were seated within 5 minutes. The man who sat us, went over the menu and made suggestions. We followed, but got roasted pork, soy sauce chicken, bbq pork fried rice, and Chinese broccoli. Walked out happy and full. This ended up being our destination in Vancouver. Eating leftovers tonight.“

“Came for the Tuesday night Peking Duck special. All the food was excellent, as usual. Service was prompt, and pacing was great. Quality of ingredients was top notch in all the dishes.
If you park in the orange area of the parking garage and give them your license plate and stall number when you check in, you get free parking too!“

“The traditional dim sum dishes were very mediocre, some of their more unique dishes were better. I definitely won’t be back for their dim sum though.
However, I did see their classic Cantonese dinner menu and that looks great. I would return to try their dinner.“

“My husband and I stopped in at Han Lin Noodle House last Saturday after a little walk along the waterfront, and we were so glad we did. The beef brisket noodle soup was absolutely wonderful - rich broth, tender meat, and a generous portion that kept us full for the rest of the afternoon. The staff were warm and attentive without being overbearing, which we always appreciate. If you are in New Westminster looking for a satisfying, no-fuss meal, this is the spot.“

“Found a gem at Broadway. Introduced to this Chinese restaurant as I was in the vicinity and their food quality was impressive. Ordered their famous dumpling soup and prawn toast. Their char siew are tasty too.
Chef’s Choice Seafood Restaurant is a solid choice for classic Cantonese dining and it is easy to see why it has earned recognition in the Michelin Guide. We ordered several dim sum dishes, along with the soya sauce chicken and deep-fried pigeon. The dim sum was well executed, with fresh ingredients and traditional flavours. The soya sauce chicken was tender, juicy, and nicely seasoned without being overly salty. The highlight was the deep-fried pigeon, featuring crispy skin and succulent meat with plenty of flavour. Service was efficient despite the busy atmosphere, making it a satisfying meal for both locals and visitors.“

“Here's a natural, positive Google review you can post:
> We came here for dim sum with my family and had a great experience. The food was quite good, with fresh flavors and generous portions. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our meal. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience, and we'd definitely come back for dim sum again.“
“Typical hole in the wall Chinese resto that serves excellent dishes. I ordered fried squid and tofu in peppery salt and their scallop and egg fried rice. It was delicious and crispy! Price, quantity and quality is on point too. Love their food and will surely come back again. They have 3 reserved parking slots but you can also park on the side streets. I highly recommend this place. The even gave me a free small hot and sour soup which was awesome considering I am not a fan of this soup. The taste is good!“

“This chicken dish is one of my fav things to eat, I always order it when I see it on a menu. At fei Mei I ordered the spicy sichuan flavour. The spice is very mild if you do not handle spice well.
This chicken wasn’t my favourite, I’d give just the chicken 4/5 which is still good and top 5.
My husband and I found the rice a surprisingly 5/5. It was so addictive, flavourful, full of variety like juicy braised daikon, shrimp, sausage, fresh green onions…. I could not tell if it was a fried rice or what. I never had anything like it and it is an absolute must try rice dish.
Overall I would be back to try the other chicken flavours but mostly for the tasty rice.“

“We’ve been here for dim sum a handful of times, and the food is consistently great. Service has always been good as well.
Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, we ordered the hot and sour seafood soup and found a very long black hair in it (and we are all blonde). We let our server know right away, and they were very apologetic and removed the dish from our bill.
That said, we were a bit surprised that nothing further was offered—no small discount or even a dessert on the house. While we appreciated the apology, it felt like a missed opportunity to go a step further in making things right.
A bit disappointing, especially when the “extra ingredient” definitely wasn’t something we ordered.“

“Newtown reminds me of the old day's in Chinatown.
Great food.excellent service.lots of bakery items.great menu.
The big one is they do not except CREDIT CARDS.
There also open at 6:30 am for the early birds like us..very busy at lunch time.
They offer every thing you would want at a bakery with lots of seating..
Keep it up.. 💯
The CONGEE is excellent too.😁“

“Chose this restaurant as I've followed the manager, Michael Kwok, around since his days at Floata, then Red Star, and now at Kowloon Delight. Hosted my son's high school grad family dinner, and recently mom in law's milestone birthday party. The Great: food is fabulous as confirmed by my very picky MIL and extended family. In particular, hot n sour soup is one of the best we've had. Service by Michael and servers is top notch (which is usually a bone of contention in a Chinese restaurant but not here). The Good: parking is covered as it's inside a plaza. So our elders w mobility issues had no problem getting to the second floor. Parking is free as well. The Meh: washrooms could be cleaner and should maintained throughout the night. Overall: absolutely will come again for another milestone event this year. This is my go to place now when I'm looking to host 3 tables of people (ie.30 people).“

“Great service and delicious, flavorful food. Everything we ordered tasted so good, packed with big flavors.

“The food was super awesome! Our waitress was really nice, and service was always fast. All of the dishes were fresh, and we ordered the scrambled eggs and beef, fried rice, lobster and noodles, a seafood dish and the beef soup. My daughter ate most of the lobster, and she said it was really delicious. We really think this is a very good restaurant!“

“Lee Garden redefines the atmosphere of fine dining. Their Asian cuisine is top level and unlike any other restaurant I’ve been to before. The staff take extreme care to ensure that the level of satisfactory in the service is well delivered during your time at Lee Garden. Their pecking duck brings the flavours that enrich the feeling of nostalgia and a fresh new taste into the world of Cantonese cuisine. I suggest that Lee Garden should be on your itinerary when you visit Vancouver. It is unlike anything I’ve had before and I will never get chance to relive the experience that I had when I first discovered and dined at Lee Garden Seafood Restaurant.“

“Today was my first time trying Hong Kong style pastries and they didn't disappoint, I did not know what to get but the man behind the counter helped me pick, even though it was my first trying a Red Bean Paste bun, I highly recommend it, it is so fluffy, airy and flavorful, not overly sweet.
I'll have to try the restaurant next time, am definitely coming back.“

“Congee Noodle King is a classic spot back in the day when you wanted some good “sui yeh”. Since COVID, the closing hours have been reduced but you can still have a decent bite to eat!
If you’re in the mood for delicious congee (which they have the craziest variety of) and satisfying noodle dishes like the swirly egg shrimp noodle, this is the place! They’ve done some recent renovations to the place and added more tables. Previously, it was a bit dated and I’m glad they added some more spots as the restaurant tends to be a bit overpacked.
It’s a place where you can expect generous portions, reasonable prices, and consistent wok hei flavoured dishes. Beyond congee and noodles, the menu also includes a wide range of Cantonese-style dishes such as stir-fried vegetables, fried rice, seafood and a variety of the classic sweet and sour pork/chicken, fried proteins and soups. My go-to dishes are:
Swirly egg shrimp noodle
Salty fish and chicken fried rice
Sweet and sour pork chops
Seafood Chow Mein (crispy)
Beef Tendon and Beef Brisket with Noodle
The service can be hit or miss, sometimes they are so busy you may not get a tea refill or get your order in. A majority of reviews I find always complain about the “service” or servers being rude, but that’s just how they come off to be. They are trying their best and English is not their first language, so please be patient and nice to the staff!“

“This restaurant is small and cozy, with about ten tables, and the prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet my expectations. Every dish I ordered tasted extremely light. While I appreciate that they seem to avoid MSG, the flavors were so mild that I found myself hesitating with every bite.
I ordered the fish congee, and the fish arrived as one large piece rather than slices. The congee itself had almost no fish taste at all. What surprised me most is how busy the restaurant was. Perhaps affordability is the main reason people come, but personally, I prefer stronger flavors and better quality.“

“Definitely the comfort food for my Chinese stomach! Congee and noodles are their signature dishes, but they also serve seafood as well! Friendly staff and family-style ambience. We came here for lunch, so it’s not very busy. They have opened for 28 years, and so many loyal customers have become friends with staff.
The seafood congee is smooth and savory; and their beef brisket noodles is also impressive. The beef is cooked to the exact tenderness! All other dishes are delicious. Such a good place to go if I'm longing for something soothing :)“

“Wow what a yummy place with amazing service!
Soup was hot! Tendon and brisket were perfect! Wontons and dumplings were tasty! I would have ordered a 3rd bowl if I wasn’t so full! I went to get refills on the hot sauce too as that was so yummy!
It was the perfect hot noodle soup on a rainy day! I’ll be back for sure :)! There’s a holiday Dec promotion right now so go check them out!“

“One of the better BBQ Pork, Char Siew and Octopus in Vancouver. I haven't tried regular dishes as not the kind of places that I want beside the BBQ foods. Waitress is a little chaos as they really not too organized. Noisy joint so probably better just to takeaway.“

“💎Hidden Gem for their Beef Brisket and Vegetable Chow Mein!!! It deserves a Michelin star ⭐ it’s so good! The beef brisket is so tender it melts in your mouth while the sauce is rich and beefy covering crispy noodles. Pure perfection. The other items like soya beef chow fun and shrimp and egg swirl chow fun were delicious too but like normal 4/5 above average but not outstanding delicious. Portions are generous and it’s affordable food. However you need to try the beef brisket and vegetable chow Mein here, it really stood out.“

“I had such a wonderful experience at Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant on Granville Street! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming, comfortable, and perfect for enjoying a meal with family and friends. The restaurant has a great traditional Chinese dining atmosphere, and the service made the experience even more enjoyable.
The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered came out fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. The seafood dishes were especially impressive, with great quality and generous portions that were perfect for sharing. Each dish had its own unique flavours, and you could really tell that care was put into the preparation. The food arrived at a good pace, and everything was served hot and fresh.
One thing I really appreciated was how attentive and friendly the staff were. They were welcoming, efficient, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service remained organized and pleasant, which made the entire dining experience feel smooth and enjoyable.
Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant is definitely a great place to come for family dinners, celebrations, or simply when you’re craving delicious Chinese food and seafood. The portions are generous, the food is satisfying, and the overall atmosphere makes it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a nice meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and flavourful Chinese cuisine in Vancouver. I’ll definitely be coming back again!“

“This is our go to whenever we have small or big family gatherings. Fortune City has a good variety of Chinese dishes, ranging from soups, noodles, rice, vegetables and protein!
The dishes do have the “wok hei” which is something im always looking for when I try out a new restaurant. They have been consistent with their food quality and service. The reason why I gave it a lower score on the atmosphere is the restaurant is quite dated and the interior hasn’t really changed for many years. The bathrooms, especially for the men’s, can be cleaned and maintained a bit better. The chairs and tables are fine, but at times the seats have big stains or tears. Again, nothing to do with the food but does affect the overall rating!
Their dinner sets are pretty good if you have a big group. The noise can get quite loud but expected especially during peak dinner hours or on the weekends. My recommendation is to book ahead of time and reserve a table. Dim sum is also good here, though the only drawback again is sometimes when it is busy, even when you have reserved a table, you might get put on a wait list still. There aren’t too many good spots in Vancouver left like this place, I would recommend it overall to anyone, both new to Chinese food or have been looking for anther place to add to their go-to list!“

“2026 August Update - so surprised & VERY PLEASED that you're connected to UBER Eats now!!! My Order was tasty & met my expectations! Oh, and CUTE pink Delivery bag too! ❤
Nice neighborhood restaurant on the understated & underappreciated Fraser Street. I used to dine-in and thought the Western Style dishes on their menu were cool & unique! I've been ordering Take-out from them lately! Food is consistently good, in generous portions, and reasonably priced for the portion size. The complimentary soup and rice with the meat dish are a nice surprise! I ordered #98 on the Take-out menu for something different (Malaysian Style Fried Vermicelli), and it was very delicious! 😋 Liked them enough to have the restaurant number on speed-dial. I'm looking forward to trying more of the different dishes on their large menu. Definitely a great spot for anytime casual dining!“

“May is a wonderfully bubbly personality. Don't be surprised if she remembers you; even if months have passed. She calls her regulars her boyfriends or girlfriends. And yes, the food is consistently delicious. Rice rolls and congee are simple ingredients that take a deft touch to produce greatness. Surprisingly, rice isn't light. I'm surprised to find myself stuffed and more than satisfied as I roll myself away.“

“Came here with a family of 8. Food is high quality. But you get what you pay for, so be prepared to spend at least $400-$500 if you are coming with a large group.
Dietary restrictions: Have veggie options but not recommend for hardcore vegetarians & vegans
Kid-friendliness: Yes.
Wheelchair accessibility: None. Disappointing but that‘s the only downside to this place“

“An underrated hidden gem for dinner! We selected 8 dishes from the combo set menu for $239, which includes an additional hainanese chicken (whole), msg free soup, rice and dessert. Average to big portions (depending on which dish). Very tasty and msg is minimal. Our fav dish is the 1000 island sauce pork chop, soya sauce prawns, and the deep fried whole oysters (an old fashioned dish not common in restaurants these days). 8 dishes were enough for 12 people. Like a lot of mom/pop local restaurants, service is warm but not enough staff so you may have to wait a bit. Overall, very good value for money in a down to earth local restaurant. Our dinner including 15% tip worked out to be $26 per person, very reasonable.
TIP: if your total bill is over $25 ( which is barely anything these days) you can get an order of HK French toast at promo price of $2.95. it was good with decent amount of Kaya filling.“

“A place I would always recommend and visit when I can. Dim sum here are massive and most are delicious. Their house fried vermicelli is a go to everytime.
Har Gow and Sui Mai are huge and delicious. Chicken feet is average. Feng Guo was meh.
Chili oil is not good.
The place is an old unassuming place. I would say there are better quality places nearby (probably more costly), but this place feels homey and food is always consistent.“

“This restaurant is not an American (Canadian) Chinese food restaurant. They have some dishes but I recommend the ones where the flavors are more representative of actual Chinese cuisine over the Pacific ocean.
Dining is also typical Chinese style meaning family style. You order many dishes of chicken, pork, beef, fish and veggies and share it with the entire table along with rice.
As long as you understand this then you'll realize it's one of the best Chinese restaurants on the North Shore.
I'm glad that throughout the decades, they've stayed mostly true to the feel and flavours of ethnic Chinese instead of diluting the heritage to fit the different expectations of the local crowd.“
