“There’s a reason Haidilao has become so successful around the world. Even after establishing itself as a leader in the hot pot industry, they never seem to stop innovating. Every time I visit, there’s something new.

But what truly sets Haidilao apart from everyone else is the level of service. And it’s not something that can simply be described as “professional” or “friendly.” There’s a unique culture here that makes you feel like you’re coming home when you walk through the door — happy, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. Many restaurants can provide high-quality, professional service. But that feeling of being completely embraced by a warm, joyful atmosphere, and being genuinely looked after, is something I’ve only experienced at Haidilao.

Over time, I’ve come to remember the names of many of the staff here. But two people I especially want to remember and thank are the managers, Kid and Vivian.

I’ve seen them handle the restaurant under intense pressure and keep everything running efficiently and smoothly. I’ve also seen how they respond when unexpected problems arise — staying calm and flexible, communicating clearly, and finding ways to resolve the situation. They have an excellent eye for detail, strong judgment, and the ability to make good decisions in challenging moments.

And a special thank-you to Kid. To us, you’ve become much more than a restaurant manager — you feel like family. We’ll keep coming back, again and again. And I genuinely recommend that everyone experience Haidilao for themselves — not only for the food, but for the unique culture and warmth that make this restaurant truly one of a kind.“

“Had a great experience at Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Vancouver. The soup base was rich and flavorful, and the meat and vegetables were fresh. The lamb was especially good, with great texture and no strong gamey taste. “My favorite spot of all time! I’ve been coming here for many years, even since they were at their old location.

The food has always been good. I always get the sukiyaki soup, it’s my go-to. The broth is rich, savory, and full of umami, with a slightly sweet flavor that goes so well with the meat. The meat is also really good quality.

The service is attentive, and the staff are friendly and polite.

We went on a weekday around 5 PM, and they had a promotion of buy one set of meat and get the second set 50% off. We ended up spending around $80 for two, including tips.

If I have to pay regular price, then I might just give it 3 stars.
The regular price is over priced.

Pretty confused at first because the waiter told us to order from the tablet then told us to go to the buffet bar to get the rest. The tablet menu didn't have prawns but the buffet bar did. We weren't sure if there was extra charge.

Good selection of sauces and dessert bar. Also ended with a yummy yam ice cream.“

“Had a great experience at Gokudo Shabu Shabu. The restaurant was clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

The broth was flavorful and the ingredients were very fresh. The premium beef had beautiful marbling and was tender after just a few seconds in the hot pot. The vegetable platter was generous and everything tasted fresh. The dipping sauces were delicious, and the drinks paired perfectly with the meal.

The quality of the food, presentation, and service really stood out. Everything was well prepared, and the overall experience was enjoyable from start to finish. I would definitely come back and highly recommend Gokudo Shabu Shabu to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic hot pot experience.“

My parents have been going here since my oldest sister was born and have been taking me since I was a kid, this place is truly amazing and will forever be my favourite comfort meal spot in vancouver. “Great value proposition in Taiwanese fried chicken. The crunch was good and it was generously seasoned. The serving size (I got a regular) is absolutely a monster for one person. I recommend sharing with at least two or more people. Despite the scale of fried chicken, I didn’t feel greasy after finishing it.

Cash only. There is an ATM at the lottery convenience at the other end of the mall. You are given a pager that vibrates and rings once your food is ready. Seating can be difficult at peak times since there’s other food spots in the cafeteria.“

“A sleeper hit as far as we're concerned. The epinymous noodles are very satisfying - authenticity not withstanding as we are unqualified to judge. Options for the spice-averse are limited, though the ye bin noodles are consistently crunchy and refreshing. We get them with fried egg and a side of blanched leafy greens.

Our only complaint is that the style and volume of the music is often giving karaoke club. There's just no good reason for me to have to raise my voice in a restaurant with only 1 or 2 other patrons present.

At just $29.99, you get unlimited soup, meat, vegetables, and dessert. It’s an excellent value and easily beats many other AYCE hot pot restaurants that charge $50+ per person.

The tomato soup and cilantro & century egg soup were both flavorful without being overly salty. The sliced lamb was a bit fatty, but it was easy enough to trim off yourself. The lamb skewers were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of char and cumin.

The dessert station was a nice bonus, with milk tea and a variety of toppings to customize your drink. The service was friendly throughout the meal.

If you’re looking for a satisfying late-night hot pot without spending a fortune, Marble House Eatery is hard to beat.“

Kudos goes to Maple the waitress at this restaurant for being so friendly and even having a conversation with my boyfriend in Chinese, you are an amazing woman being able to speak 4 languages and we were so happy to be able to have a great conversation with you. The Peking duck was carved tableside with real care, thin pancakes, crisp skin, the whole thing done properly and not rushed.
