“I like how Tang has their own parking just right beside and behind the restaurant, having not to fight for a parking is a plus on Alexandra Road.

We ordered small pho combo with one fried chicken wing and one chicken skewers as a side. Chicken pho is nice and simple, chicken pieces are not overcooked, it is very smoothing on a rainy day. Beef pho is also very gentle, and with generous amount of meat.

Thumbs up to the two sides, both tasted so amazing ! Took me by surprise for sure!

We went on a Saturday night, with live music it became difficult to hear across the table. Otherwise it is a nice experience, and would come back for their pho hot pot!“

“I normally have a great experience but this time it was a bit off. My water glass was filthy, I asked for a new one which was also filthy so I didn’t bother to drink water. Both our potatoes were burnt and then my friend was charged an extra THREE dollars for a tiny bit of hollandaise sauce for her eggs bene. That’s a bit ridiculous.“

“We were visiting from out of town and stopped at Cactus Club for my partners birthday dinner. We are so happy we chose Cactus as the food and service were great!

We were lucky to have Ghayass as our server and they were amazing! Very attentive and made our birthday celebration feel special. Huge shout out to Ghayass!

For food we started with the calamari and it was amazing, I could have eaten a large entree sized portion of just this! We also got a green goddess salad that was great and the bolognese pasta which was really good.

We ordered a crème brûlée for desert and Ghayass made it special by bringing it out with a happy birthday message and a candle, thank you so much! The dessert was amazing!

“As juke is take out only, next door (chickadee room) serves juke’s chicken and cocktails. The items were a little different - the spicy fried chicken comes in a tangy slightly spicy sauce. The all dressed fries come with an aioli and pickles. Highly recommend the nuggets as they were delicious.“

Barra 41 is the bar attached to Minerva's Greek restaurant (which has been around forever) and serves the same great quality food from it's kitchen. All the food & beer on tap is good, and you can also order from the restaurant menu. The atmosphere & service of this bar takes Barra the next levrl. Highly recommended and worth the trip to karisdale. Happy hour specials are offered daily from 3 - 5 PM.“

“We came for a good bye dinner with our team. Our company closed and Glowbal was selected by numerous recommendations from our other colleagues. It was an amazing atmosphere and definitely super-tasty food. When the time for dessert came, our beautiful waitresses came with our ordered sweet cake with “Happy Unemployment “ writing on the plate. It was a bittersweet moment for all of us but our mood instantly switched to laughter and we almost forgot the cause of our gathering“

“We visited The Magnet on West Pender in Vancouver last night. It's owned by the same folks that run Brassneck Brewery (on Main, very decent beers) and the Alibi Room (on Alexander, great beer list, best veggie burger in town, great location). We've heard good things from friends and checked it out for their beer list which is vast and great choices (only BC beers these days as everywhere but excellent selection). They have slow pours for some of the pilsners and a side pull for others for a denser, creamier foam. Staff is very knowledgable about the beers and about the short but mighty natural wine list as well. The real surprise for us was the food though. We had heard good things about their pies (English Pork Pie, daily choices) and charcuterie board but as vegetarians we opted for the Grilled Carrots with Spiced Orange Glaze, Chana Dal, Spinach, Cilantro & Cashew Lemon Cream, served with Fried Flat Bread and the Whipped Feta & Olive Dip, Grilled Zucchini, Warm Balsamic Shallot Dressing & Housemade Olive Focaccia. We were majorly impressed by the presentation and taste of both. The warm balsamic shallot dressing was divine. SO GOOD. Everything fresh, on point and so delish. Highly recommend checking this place out when you are in downtown Vancouver.“

“Excellent food and a great experience overall!

We had a bit of a hiccup with our reservation. My friend initially booked for 4, then called and emailed to change it to 6. They assured us it would be fine, though a bit tight. Unfortunately, it seems this wasn’t communicated to the restaurant. When we arrived, the table was clearly meant for 4. The three of us had to squeeze tightly on one side, and an extra chair was placed at the end of the table, right near the door and coat rack, which wasn’t ideal.

That said, the food more than made up for it! Everything we ordered was delicious. As an appetizer, the arancini was fantastic, though slightly bitter. The Parker House rolls were outstanding. For the mains, we all tried each other’s dishes, and the unanimous favorite was the beef cheeks—absolutely tender and flavorful. I had the cacio e pepe, and as a Brazilian, I thought I’d miss having protein, but it was perfect and so satisfying.

For dessert, we ordered three different ones to share, and while they were all great, the standout was the amaretto semifreddo.

Despite the table mix-up, the food and service were amazing, and I’d definitely come back, when I can $$ lol (be prepared)

Parking: Be aware that the parking lot (in front) door close automatically at 10 PM sharp. We were just a minute later leaving and were almost locked inside!“
