“Chanced upon this beautiful, cozy cafe at Brighouse. The service and ambiance were wonderful. I ordered an iced hojicha oat latte and ube loaf, both of which tasted delicious! While I like my hojicha latte sweeter, it was definitely made of high quality ingredients. The ube loaf is a must order too! It had a strong ube flavour, vibrant colour, and was deliciously soft. “I recently visited Cafe & Life Co., and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food was delicious and well-prepared. The shrimp salad was one of the highlights: fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor, with juicy shrimp, avocado, radish, and mixed greens creating a great balance. The pasta was cooked al dente and had a nice, mildly tangy tomato sauce. Their drinks were also impressive—especially the matcha latte and tiramisu coffee, both beautifully presented and not overly sweet.
However, the main downside was the long wait time. Despite the café not being overly crowded, the dishes took quite a while to arrive. Additionally, the portion sizes are on the smaller side, so those with a bigger appetite may find them less satisfying.

“A good place to drop by and have a snack in Steveston. We got the Tuna Kimbap and the Strawberry Croffle (the owners gave us 2 free Bungeo-Ppang as well - Nutella and custard). The croffle and bungeo-ppang were light and crispy but we wish the croffle came with more strawberries. The Tuna Kimbap was a good snack but a little pricey.“

“Ordered the Tofu Pudding Black Milk Tea and Purple Yam Fresh milk green tea.

A rare find (for me) to see a boba place with tofu as a topping so I was happy to find it on the menu. The milk tea tasted more like soy milk but I was ok with that. You can really taste the green tea from the purple yam drink and is a bit grainy from the yam. I would pass on that drink next time.

The place has a kiosk to order from but you can also order at the counter. The workers didn't really interact with us when we got in and ordered - one of them brought our drinks over which was nice of her.

They have some unique drinks that I'd still want to try. I would visit again if in the area.“

This time I ordered takeout and got the crepe layered cakes in 4 flavors: chocolate, Oreo, chestnut and Earl grey. The staff were friendly and personable, and the turn around time from order to arrival was minimal. Location near the wharf is convenient for all the tourists (ourselves included) milling about in the area, looking for a quick jolt of java and something to wash down with it. While I'm not much of a coffee person, my wife is, and that means this inviting cafe is likely to enter our rotation of must-visit places, when we return to Steveston next year on our anniversary (again)! “I first tried Doi Chang Coffee at Chiang Mai Airport - bought myself bags of beans and brought them back to Canada. Finished those bags and went searching online to start importing Doi Chang Coffee. But then, I found you, located in BC and thought to myself this can’t be! So I ordered some…well a lot. When the package arrived I brewed the beans using my french press and was brought back to Chiang Mai Airport…every day. I’m beyond happy with the whole process and the beans. Will be buying more!
