“Really enjoyed my visit to Chahalo! 🍵 The drinks are generous in size and beautifully made — one topped with rich whipped cream and sprinkles, and the other sealed with their signature lid. The flavors are creamy, balanced, and not overly sweet, which I loved.

The in-house roasted specialty coffees are one of the best in the Lower Mainland. Reasonable prices too.“

“Quaint, spacious, bright, calm, delicious and perfectly cooled. Words that come to mind when I'm sitting here writing this review. Miion Cafe is petite but not crowded at all and furniture is very well spaced out. Bright - as there are large floor to ceiling windows flushing in natural light. Calm - as the cafe plays relaxing jazz music and the space is not echoey when the cappuccino machines run. Delicious - as the strawberry matcha was out of this world! Lots of strawberries and nice strong matcha flavour. Hojicha Oat Latte is extremely smooth and flavourful. Free 3hr parking too with a scannable QR code by the till.

On par with Cowdog, better than Paragon Tea. 8.5/10. Will return again. Though maybe they should set up a 'customer only bathroom' with a keypad - some guy came in and took a stinky deuce and just left. Very nice space.“

He has a warm and welcoming smile and invites you in with his deep voice and bright personality. However, he is not to be ignored or taken for granted... take time to meet this gem of a man, don't be "selfie" (cell phone) absorbed when you enter his domaine, or you will miss out on the richness of humanity. In the old Starbucks location. I know I’m dating myself. Coffee was fresh and very good. Young fellow behind counter was lovely. The chocolate chip banana bread was very good as well. Bonus. They have puppy snacks. Glad to see they take care of the pups as well.“

“Fresher ingredients used on average than competing East Indian lunch buffet restaurant in Langley city. Fresh tandoori chicken, fish and goat curries, fresh naan, hot chai tea, large selection of (pasta) salads, layers of flavour in gulabjamun, moist brownies, very friendly service, free parking and cool air conditioning. Shah-bash from my group of 3 for lunch. Will be back.“

“Ordered the Tofu Pudding Black Milk Tea and Purple Yam Fresh milk green tea.

A rare find (for me) to see a boba place with tofu as a topping so I was happy to find it on the menu. The milk tea tasted more like soy milk but I was ok with that. You can really taste the green tea from the purple yam drink and is a bit grainy from the yam. I would pass on that drink next time.

The place has a kiosk to order from but you can also order at the counter. The workers didn't really interact with us when we got in and ordered - one of them brought our drinks over which was nice of her.

They have some unique drinks that I'd still want to try. I would visit again if in the area.“

“Everything here is really good and made to order! The staff are kind and helpful.

I tried the black bean sauce rice cakes and added cheese. The cheese is torched and gives a nice smoky flavour, while the rice cakes are soft and chewy.
The taiyaki are super crispy, and the scent really reminds me of funnel cakes at the fair. There’s lots of fillings to choose from, but my personal favourite is the smooth and creamy custard.
I also had the Sunset Ube Latte, which was absolutely indulgent. There’s roasted sweet potato at the bottom, which adds a nice texture to the latte.

“The food here is tasty and nicely presented, with fresh ingredients in both the salads and desserts. The coffee is smooth, and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming definitely a great spot to sit down and chat with friends.

That said, the prices are on the higher side, and considering the portion sizes, it doesn’t feel like the best value. If you’re looking for a nice environment to hang out, it’s worth it, but if you’re mainly here for the food, the price-to-value ratio isn’t the best.

This time I ordered takeout and got the crepe layered cakes in 4 flavors: chocolate, Oreo, chestnut and Earl grey. The staff were friendly and personable, and the turn around time from order to arrival was minimal. Location near the wharf is convenient for all the tourists (ourselves included) milling about in the area, looking for a quick jolt of java and something to wash down with it. While I'm not much of a coffee person, my wife is, and that means this inviting cafe is likely to enter our rotation of must-visit places, when we return to Steveston next year on our anniversary (again)! We came back this morning and explained to the staff what had happened and they generously offered us our pastries. “I first tried Doi Chang Coffee at Chiang Mai Airport - bought myself bags of beans and brought them back to Canada. Finished those bags and went searching online to start importing Doi Chang Coffee. But then, I found you, located in BC and thought to myself this can’t be! So I ordered some…well a lot. When the package arrived I brewed the beans using my french press and was brought back to Chiang Mai Airport…every day. I’m beyond happy with the whole process and the beans. Will be buying more! Much more!“
