“This is the archetypical old hamburger place - the kind you see in films set in the '50s - with the requisite burgers, hot dogs, soft serve cones, and fries, all pretty good. They definitely beat McDonald's, because everything's made on the spot and the prices are pretty throwback too - this, the original M&G's, takes credit cards. They've got a few modern takes of fast food on the menu too. If you're thinking of a burger in downtown Fairfax, this is the place. There's another branch of M& G's on magnolia avenue Larkspur that's cash only, and just as good.“

“Came on a Wednesday and got an enormous delicious beef brisket plate for $22. Probably the best deal I’ve seen in North Beach. The hamburgers look pretty awesome too although I have not tried one yet. My friend got a chicken pesto sandwich which was less exceptionable but not bad.

Definitely worth coming back!

One note: sitting at the back is pretty loud, sounds like there’s a club or something on the other side of the wall so it was hard to hear my friend talking, but that’s probably not an an issue if you come earlier or don’t sit in the very back.“

“My favorite burger in the city hands down. If you're looking for a perfectly lacy and crisp patty on a potato bun and the biggest helping of fries, you've found the right place. It's simplicity done right and I come here more than I probably should, but they're a consistently delicious lunch that makes going to the office less painful. The staff are always nice and work efficiently as possible for fresh food they make in front of your face. I hope they stick around for a long time!“

“A great burger. From my first year in the bay area there was something special about Nation's Giant Burgers, scattered around the East Bay. A juicy patty, cheese, with the fixings a nice clump of lettuce, onions and tomato, thick slab of cheese and pickles. Great thick fries, and pies.. seriously the best pie I ever had was at a Nation's. Their Strawberry Tart only offered when in season, is just large strawberries, a tasty almost shortbread crust and whipped cream. The one I had in 2001, days after 9/11, the strawberries were bursting with juice, almost like a jam, the skin barely holding, and. not too sweet, not too tart... In Plant City, Florida they have amazing strawberries.. previously the best I had ever tasted, but these, from a California Farm is what they said, are always going to be the best. �Other than their Strawberry Tart, I like their Banana Split, Banana Cream, Chocolate Cream, Pecan, Blueberry... well.. all of them. Never a bad choice. How I like my burger. Cheese, no dressing, grilled onions, light lettuce. Then I get hash browns and ham on the side (sometimes one egg also) and add them to the burger. Anyway. yes. 👍 more, again.“

“The food is phenomenal. Everything, from the sauce, the salad, the rice, the chicken, the beef, the burger, was phenomenal. Even though the prices are not cheap, they deserve it. If the tomatoes and salad taste good, that means everything's good, and they care about everything.

“This was the perfect late-night stop during my first trip to San Francisco! The food was fresh and delicious, but what really stood out was the incredible service. One employee was taking orders, running the register, and making burgers all at the same time—and somehow still managed to be friendly and efficient. Huge kudos to him for keeping everything running so smoothly!

“I'm old. I've been eating at M&Gs since the late fifties. Back in the day I savored a barbecue beef sandwich. That's no longer on the menu, my new go-to is the chili burger.
I'm so happy munching the burger sipping a lemonade marvelling at all the traffic and observing the bikers across the street drinking beer next to their mountain bikes that could pay three months of my rent. Blimey!“

“I’ve been coming to Izzy’s for 35 years. This was the first time I’ve been back since the remodel 6 months ago. As usual the steaks and sides were fabulous. However, the four of us ordered several glasses of wine and the “pours” were pathetic! I don’t mind paying top dollar for a glass of wine but I don’t appreciate a 1/4 glass of wine that was barely two sips! Don’t try to pay off your remodel expenses by cheap skating your wine pours! “I’ve been coming to this location since the day they opened in our neighborhood. They offer a great variety of food, from wraps and burgers to salads and other menu items, and I’ve tried most of them over the years. The food is consistently very good, which is probably why they’ve become so popular and busy every day, especially on Fridays.

Unfortunately, it seems like order management has become an issue as their popularity has grown. I placed two orders over the last two weeks through DoorDash. The app estimated a 10-minute wait, and since the restaurant is only about four minutes from my house, I walked over to pick it up. However, both times I ended up waiting 40–45 minutes for my food.

Today was especially frustrating. Even though DoorDash said the order would be ready in 10 minutes, it actually took 40 minutes, causing me to miss the first part of my work meeting. While I was waiting, I noticed people who arrived after me and ordered at the kiosk received their food before I did, even though I had placed my order through the app 40 minutes earlier.

This was really disappointing and unexpected. I hope the restaurant recognizes this issue and improves the way they handle online and pickup orders moving forward.“

Located in the Trader Joe’s parking lot @ Montecito PlazaWe had a super low battery on car, hungry & needed to go grocery shopping @ Trader Joe’s. Trifecta.We plugged into a ecar charger in front of the restaurant for Rockstar parking. We arrived hungry & left happy. We ordered a Cheeseburger combo with sweet potato fries. The place just had a huge crowd walk in before me, of at least 20 people. I got the chalet burger which featured a perfectly cooked, thick beef patty, toasted and floofy gluten-free bun, arugula, mushrooms, swiss cheese, tomato, and I added housemade pickles. Their bread is baked fresh daily, sandwiches are made with that personal touch and the cooler is stocked with a plethora of great choices. They have beer on tap, an outdoor patio area seated away from the bustle of the main road, solid Wi-Fi and plug-ins. My personal favorite is the Lostrami on Dutch Crunch.“

“Casual neighborhood walk-up counter right across the street from Molinari's on Broadway. Staff is chill, food is hot and tasty, no question why they're voted Best Cheesesteak in CA. Outside seating lets you enjoy the food and the pulse of the neighborhood with a view of the back end of Chinatown. Hands down my favorite spot and just about a mile up Broadway from Pier 9 for the tourists.

“Joe is great. After our Uber drive dropped us in the wrong place, Joe would tell us how to get there, he took us there. It was only at the end of the block, but meant the world to us. “Def a pick up spot but that’s ok if that’s what you’re looking for. The food is great and the vibe is happy and fun. Wait staff is really great! Our waitress was so sweet and on top of everything. I know they are known for their espresso martinis and literally every single person sitting at the bar had one. We had wine instead which was also yummy. Portions are also pretty huge so keep that in mind when ordering. My BLT was def enough for 2 people. They also have outside seating which is fun on nice days.“

Biscuits and gravy: the biscuits are the dream child of a cornbread and a biscuit, buttery, flaky, melt in your mouth kind of pastry, not just a random biscuit
The gravy is creamy but light and rich at the same time (if that’s even possible?) with a light spice finish without burning your mouth
The scrambled eggs were above average and didn’t arrive dry, which is huge
Bagel with 2 sunny side up eggs & bacon:
