“I came across Doodlecakes in an Alameda Facebook group post, and I'm so glad I did! I asked Rebekah for a custom Skyline Chili cake for my friend's birthday, and was amazed to see she achieved EXACTLY what I was imagining! My friend was blown away when they saw it :)There were many tempting flavors for a custom cake! After hearing recommendations from Rebekah about what would work best for the design (she clearly knows what she's doing), I ordered a vanilla cake with a mix of vanilla/cream cheese frosting, and whipped cream filling with fresh strawberries and blueberries. The cake was absolutely delicious--everyone at the party raved about how it was moist with the perfect level of sweetness.Doodlecakes was very communicative about the delivery as well! I was texted about any delays, and called to ensure the cake made it to me safely after I asked a housemate to receive it for me.All in all, it was easy and a pleasure to work with Doodlecakes on a custom order. I paid $110 for my 6" custom cake + delivery + tax, and it was well worth it! I'll definitely be coming back to Doodlecakes and sending my friends their way for any custom cake needs :)“

“A cute cafe and bakery where you can swing by to get some freshly baked pastries or coffee. Service is friendly and the prices are really affordable for freshly baked food. I really enjoyed the banana bread. It was a thick slice of moist and not-too-sweet goodness. Would come back!“

Ice Cream Flavor

“Came here with a friend who knows that I like trying out unique flavors. This little discreet ice cream shop nestled in Alameda was small but had a lot to offer. They had super interesting flavors : match Oreo, animal cookie, pandan coconut, Dan tat (!), calamansi, durian and more. I have tried many Asian flavored ice creams, but find most of them are lacking in flavor or leaning more on vanilla or creamy tones to make them more palatable for folks unfamiliar with them. I, however, want my ice cream to taste exactly like Durian or Ube if that's how it is labeled, not a toned down version. This place delivers on that because you're getting exactly what you imagined with no punches pulled. The Dan tat (egg tart) flavor especially blew my mind because I have not ever seen this flavor offered before, it's one of my favorite nostalgic treats from childhood and it tasted exactly like an egg tart. I did end up getting matcha Oreo instead because I was in the mood for something not too sweet and the authentic bitterness in the matcha was the perfect solution. My friend got the animal cookie and it was a perfect rendition of the cookie itself. The workers were nice and tolerant of us trying out a few different samples which is how I know everything was super flavorful. My only critique is that the size of the scoop and quality of the ice cream itself could be improved a notch, but I'm used to Gunther's in sacramento so it's hard to compare.“

“"Jay's Coffee Teas and Treats" is a small cafe in Alameda's Morton Station. They offer coffee, teas, sandwiches and bakery items. It's a very neatly organized place, with small tables inside. I was there thirty minutes before closing, and the lady made an effort to fill orders. I ordered a large coffee. They were sold out, so she made the coffee fresh for me. The other customer asked for a sandwich, and they made it "on order" in the kitchen. This extra effort and friendly service will earn them my repeat business. Located near the A-1 Market, near Benton St & Encinal Ave. Street parking“

“My daughter and I were hankering for a little bit of ice cream after lunch and walked around the corner and there was Tucker's ice cream. It was a little harder to find and I thought because the front door is in a bit from the street. Entering there was a typical sour milk smell, but we know that's why it is with ice cream. The entry, and the premises is very nice, and the scooper was a friendly fellow. They also serve other things besides ice cream. We shared a double scoop of coffee, brittle, and Heath crunch. The coffee was really good but the Heath bar crunch was a lot more ice cream and not very many Heath bar bits. The double scoop with tip came out to nine dollars. We sat and ate our ice cream. The ice cream is really creamy.“

“Fresh and tasty chicken apple sausage breakfast burrito was enjoyable. The burrito was full of flavor with nothing overpowering the other ingredients. I will be back. “02/29/24, Not a good experience this time. In their defense it was the last day to use any 2023 holiday gift cards that were outstanding and we were in the crowd of last day certificate users. But that note does not excuse any obvious issues that should have not been overlooked liked bringing food to our table that obviously did not have eating utensils or napkins. The food was ok, not fantastic as with previous dining visits. Our waitress was ok, her name is Jill“
