“Authentic Burmese food in the city. I have tried a couple of Burmese restaurants and this place is hands down the closest to what I've tasted in Burma. Hot Burmese tea, beef curry, and biryani just like you would get for a traditional celebratory event in Burma. Go try!“

“Love this little shop! So convenient and they always have fun seasonal flavors like basil syrup. I normally do some sort of matcha and theirs is one of the best in the area. Made properly and with customizable sweetness. The baristas here are always super friendly and quick as well!“

“This is my third time working with Tumi and her team at Thai Rice Spoon. Tumi and I first connected back between 2014 and 2018 when I was planning college formals, and we’ve stayed in touch over the years for major life milestones, like my sister’s bridal shower. Most recently, in May 2026, I reconnected with her to cater a company event for AAPIHM.
Her professionalism, energy, kindness, and personable touch are unmatched. Every single dish from Thai Rice Spoon is delicious, and the staff is incredibly punctual with delivery. Tumi always finds a way to work within our budget and is a absolute joy to collaborate with. I’m already looking forward to partnering with them on future events!“

“Dabao is DaBOMB. Went for dinner there last night. I am visiting from Vancouver and so needed to try tried all of Emily’s signature plates. Each plate was better than the next. Flavorful, fresh and just absolutely delicious. And the spicy condiments were sooo good. This is not your average food court fare. Not only is this the best option at the Metreon, it’s up there with the best options in town. They also cater and you can order through all the delivery apps. Try it and you will not be disappointed.“

“Absolutely delicious! We hired Liberation Foods for my niece's sweet 16. Our guest raved about the proteins. Definitely the best chimichuri I've eaten. Staff were professional, hard working, and came with a plan. Upon arrival to the facility team immediately starts setting kitchen up and prepping. Once the food service is over the kitchen was thoroughly cleaned. They left it much cleaner then the venue left it as. The team packaged the left overs and our guest came over the following day for left overs. Our event was for 150 guests, buffet style and premier menu. Definitely would rehire for future events.“

“I recently had Jason cook for my 40th birthday backyard/pool party for ~18 adults and he was phenomenal! Not only are his paellas and tapas incredibly tasty, he is also an all around great person. We had the paella Valencia moderna and the vegetarian paella and both were excellent, even better than the paellas I have had in Spain. My friends/family are still raving about his food! The presentation of everything was very impressive and really elevated the already exceptional flavors of all the food. The booking process was also seamless, Jason is an excellent communicator and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Chef Jason and his paella for your next special gathering! Thank you again Jason! :)“

“First, their espresso and matcha drinks are fantastic. Second, the humans that operate Hedge are down-to-earth, thoughtful, kind, and friendly. And that feeling permeates through everything from the quirky-yet-cozy outdoor seating, to the way they take care of you when you visit. They're authentic people and they genuinely want you to enjoy your beverage and your visit -- and they're great at helping you do both! A lovely place to be, even if only for the time it takes to say hey and pickup a cup of Joe. Shout-outs to Olga, Alex, Kyle, Wei Ling, Billy, and the friends I haven't yet met! P.S. Delicious pastries too!!“

“Bueno, bonito, y vegano. It was awesome. The fried tofu is crisp and has a great texture that's flakier than most. Crispy and flavorful. The nachos were really satisfying and rich in textures and flavors. Mac was also amazing. I have seen so many amazing vegan restaurants die off because it's just not a popular diet, so i totally get why it's only available Saturdays, but wow do I wish it was a mainstay“

“We had a wonderful meal here! I got carne asada which was my favorite and queso birria which was good as well. My dad loved the shrimp tacos. The back patio is the perfect place to watch the World Cup! Absolutely keeping this place on my list of favorites! And they were exceedingly accommodating, my dad is allergic to cilantro and they accommodated him completely!“

“Margaret catered a vegan-only meal for our Buddhist meditation group gathering in Pleasant Hill, serving around 40 people, and it was absolutely perfect. She was very mindful of our dietary needs and created a calming, nourishing menu that included Japanese and Asian-inspired dishes like miso-glazed vegetables, sesame noodles, marinated tofu, brown rice, and fresh fruit. The food supported the tone of our retreat and was beautifully presented without being flashy. Many attendees commented on how grounded and satisfied they felt afterward. Margaret truly understands intentional, plant-based catering.“

“I came here for the smashburger, but i guess they dont do lunch untill later in the day. I ordered a breakfast sandwich instead, and it was really good! Hopefully i can try the lunch menu one day but i dont think it lines up with my work schedule. 🙃 will be comming back for breakfast though.😇“

“Ate here 4 times. 1: salmon w fish, 2nd: branzino w lime , 3: seabass eggplant and 4th: sweet sour fried pompano. all of them were excellent. thai fish cakes and mushroom dumpling for appetizers were great . My wife had Tom yum soup and coconut pad Thai : both of which she loved . our service was great as well. we live in San jose but we're up in Berkeley for about a few weeks and this Thai restaurant is better than any in South Bay. highly recommended!“
