“One65 was an amazing discovery on our trip to San Francisco. Having spent the first half of our life in Montréal, Québec, Canada where it was hard to find a bad restaurant, we were absolutely amazed by this Bistro which looks more like a high end dining experience. The menu online & the photos attracted us to this location but we were amazed by the well timed service, the crisp white tablecloths, the table setting and the pleasant and calm atmosphere. My choices of charcuterie platter was perfectly sized; the chicken & the pork rillettes where a wonderful surprise. My husband had an onion tart with the crust as perfect as they get & which I envied. He loved his halibut, moist and tender and I raved over my grilled half lobster, so tender that I found myself munching on the shell parts as well. My bread pudding was not of overwhelming size & perfectly flavored. Don chose the Affogato (scoop of vanilla gelato « drowned » with a shot of hot espresso). We wanted to go back today but they are closed on Sundays.?“

I especially loved the variety of ingredients—particularly the vegetables, many of which were new to me and incredibly fresh. “Came here for dinner on a Saturday evening with a very close friend.
We were warmly greeted by the very attentive staff. This family-operated restaurant has a very warm ambiance, conducive to conversation and fine dining.
Christie, the host, made us feel very welcome and comfortable throughout the evening. She patiently reviewed the menu, without rushing us to a decision.
For appetizers, we had the Escargot, the Liver Mousse, and the French Onion Tart, all expertly prepared with renowned Chef Bruno's innovative takes on these classics.
Our entrees were the expertly-prepared braised Oxtail signature dish, and the Sea Bass, the daily special also meticulously cooked to perfection.
We finished our great dining experience with delicious Chocolate Mousse and Creme Brulee.
Overall, this was a complete and perfect dining experience! Will definitely return, and will also highly recommend to friends and colleagues.“

In a baronial, high-ceilinged room with well-spaced tables set with fresh flowers, a nice variety of lunch items are served by smiling, uniformed staff. The menu spans items from French onion soup and beet salad to flatiron steak and duck leg. Yes, you can get a hamburger too. Nothing else like it in town!“

“Exceptional dining experience at Quince for dinner. The food is beautiful & delicious. We were surprised by chicken on the menu but it was the best we’ve ever had. The white asparagus & crab dish was another favorite. Details were perfect, service on point, each glass, knife, and plate carefully curated. The design & florals were lovely. The wine pairing was exceptional and the NA pairing was the best I’ve had anywhere. Highly recommend!“

“The restaurant is around the corner from my apartment. I've wanted to go there for a very long time and am glad I finally made it. It's also a wine bar with a very good selection to choose from and even better prices on bottle to go. I started with crab stuffed mushrooms and they were incredible. The chenin blanc paired perfectly with them. I'm a true sucker for hash and they serve a pastrami hash with duck confit and two eggs. That paired perfectly with an incredible pinot noir. I enjoyed both dishes and wines very much and will probably drop in for a bottle of the chenin blanc before too much time passes. I'll also be going back to try the dinner menu soon.“

“My friend, Mike, who lives nearby with his wife, raved about it so much that my BF and I decided to come after a short trip to Marin. It was everything that he described and more. It was fantastic! “Our foursome used to attend Zuni together regularly in the mid-late '90s. It's wonderful to see that Zuni has continued to exhibit the casual-chic serious-about-food but light-heartened ambiance that made it such a pleasure to since then. Unfortunately our long-planned revisit was seriously marred by the lax disinterest and frankly condescending attitude of our waiter, who shared his name as Martin. I had diligently made 12noon reservations for a Sunday that we 4 had a 2pm Ballet. I noted that in the reservation, requesting that we finish by 1:30. I arrived at 11:50, my former spouse at 11:55, and our long time friends at 12:10pm due to cab/rain delays. I ordered a French 75 upon my arrival (fresh lemon juice, but the champagne was flat). Everyone else ordered a beverage, and our main order was taken at 12:30pm: a shared Caesar, a burger, 2 orders of the scrambled eggs with crab, and the Sardines ordered for one of us as their entree. Nothing complicated. At 1pm, after lingering over the Caesar for 20 minutes, and all of us very hungry for our food, we asked if our food was on it's way. The waiter came over and rather than abologize for the 1/2 hour wait, told us he was aware of our ballet and our 30 minute leave time. Pretty dismissive, frankly. The burger and the sardines arrived at 1:10pm and were placed in front of the two men who ordered them. The remaining two women sat without their order for a full 41/2 minutes, finely able to eat their meals 45 minutes after ordering! They had exactly 10 minutes to wolf them down, ask for the check, pay the check. And leave. Apparently it never occured to "Martin" that guests might have thought, with a 90 minute lunch reservation, they would be able to actually enjoy the food they ordered, have a dessert and a coffee, and then leave. The food and wine itself (the cocktail being disappointing) was up to Zuni's high standards. If only we had had more than 15 minutes to enjoy it. An arrogant waiter can ruin it all.“

“We visited Alameda in April to attend a celebration of life for a family member that we lost suddenly. Our family was in town from all over the country, and we found Cafe Jolie Petit near our hotel. They took such great care of us, fed us meals on three or four consecutive days, and we could not have asked for better service or food during an emotional time. Pastries (Koiugn Amann!), Monte Cristo, and the coffee bar were our favorites, but everything we had was delicious. We hope to be back for happier circumstances at some point, and definitely will return!“

“Chouquet’s is an amazing restaurant! I really love it! it’s one of the only truly authentic French spots in SF. The service is fantastic: super attentive without being over the top. The food is great and traditional (and well beyond just moules frites… ), and they have an easygoing but really good wine selection. Whenever people ask me for my top three restaurants in SF, this is one of them.

“Came on a Sunday around 10 am and waited in line for around 15 minutes to order. The interior is super cute but very limited seating so we had to wait a while for seats to open up.

Maison Nico had an amazing selection of pastries but my friend and I decided to get some classic ones- a plain croissant and a brioche slice. We both loved how airy and light the croissant was and the brioche slice was also amazing- it had a perfect sugar glaze and was super crisp on the outside yet light and airy on the inside. Both paired well with the lattes that we got!“

“Espresso is consistently amazing, never bitter, never burnt. The two owner brothers bake everything themselves overnight!! So every morning you’re greeted with cases full of fresh, beautifully crafted pastries.
Don’t miss the coffee noisette, the horseshoe pastry and the petite four cookies.

Amy was exceptional — a true professional, warm and welcoming, and she made us feel right at home.
We enjoyed the gnocchi, the green salad, the black cod, and the soup of the day, and every dish was wonderful.

“We came here for happy hour on a Monday evening and we were one of the only customers in a nearly empty restaurant, so service was pretty efficient. We almost had the entire staff catering exclusively to us. I'd say the restaurant kind of feels like a cross between a bistro bar and a 50s restaurant with dim lighting. Once we took a look at the menu, of course we had to get a wine flight.
Between 2 of the $13 wine flights, we ordered a Melon de Bourgogne, Merlot, Gamay, and then we were recommended a Rose Grenache, and an an orange wine, which was interesting.

$ 7 Chicken Liver Mousse:
okay! It was topped with chives, served with cornichons.

$10 Jamon Serrano Croquetas:
good! definitely fresh, because it came piping hot. I had to cut it in half and let it steam for a few minutes.

$19 Octopus Carpaccio - pickled capers and pickled peppers, pomegranate:
great! very tangy taste, get it if you like sour flavors

$29 Duck Leg Confit - Grimaud farm duck leg with gratin dauphinois, salad, duck jus:
excellent! crispy skin on duck leg with green salad and radishes helped lighten it up.

When we got our bill, it came tucked inside of a French paperback, which I thought was a cute touch. We got full from happy hour, though two items were not from the happy hour menu. I give Amelie a 9.2/10“

Great place for introverts who want to read since the waitstaff/owner doesn’t bother you every few minutes. A French-speaking customer ordered food to take home so this place must be authentic. Stopped by this cute spot and got an iced coffee for $4, cheap by SF standards near downtown. Looking up and seeing the nice artwork and murals, as well as the old school chandelier shows some character in this establishment. Love these old school places that exist less and less these day“

“There is a reason they sell out early everyday! Really delicious grilled pork, chicken or combo bahn mi. The fresh baguette is my favorite part. There is something about it that makes the sandwich taste even better than other places.
