“Loved it. Coming back with friends.
This is slow food at it's best. Don't come if you are in hurry, or hangey.
But worth the wait if you love seafood and plan a leasurly meal.
We went Friday night after 7. There were only 7 table, some pushed together to accomodate bigger parties. Was greeted and told when large party left, 7 people party plus our party of 2 would be seated at those table. When seated, we got menus, water, and then waited to order. We had already observed this timeline while waiting, and saw those seated earlier oprdering, and just receiving food. So it was as expected.
Food was excellent! Salad so crspy fresh, calamaries crispy, tender, not heavy batter or rubbery. Sauces and dressing creamy and fresh tssting.
Fish same crispy light coating. Lots of fries, neither tried. Next time may ask if can uptier with garlic fries. My shrip boil was more like prawns, 1 lb 19.95, headless plus $1. A bargain, garlic butter mild. I like that you can pick how spicy, and various flavoring.
We were too full to try dessert.
Will try some variety next time with a bigger crowd.“

“An absolute SF classic that lives up to the hype! The English cut prime rib was perfectly aged, tender, and juicy, spun tableside from the silver dome cart—pure theater. Loved the Yorkshire pudding, creamed spinach, and that massive baked potato. Cocktails are strong and old-school. The retro vibe with white tablecloths feels like stepping back in time. Reservations essential, but it's worth it for a special occasion meat-lover's feast.“

“Great service, food, and drinks!
Let me just start by saying anchovies are not my favorite fish. However the anchovy bar has absolutely changed my opinion.
We started with the oysters, they had three varieties available so we tried each type, I didn't realize how different they could be.
The pinxos where prepared with the anchovies I am familiar with, but the olive and peppers told a nice little story.
Next, I had to try the anchovy toast. When they set it on the table I saw a thick slice of bread topped with shimmering anchovies. The first bite made me realize I was eating something special. An absolute umami dream.
I asked our server about the preparation of the anchovies and found out the anchovies were locally caught and cured in house, but the real trick is they needed to start the curing process within 3 hours of the catch to preserve the pristine flavor.
You should also order the warm foccacia with butter and garum salt.
Don't skip the anchovy toast!!“

“My fiancé and I found your restaurant Saturday afternoon while sightseeing the city. We were so impressed with the atmosphere and hospitality. This place is the best for nice afternoon seafood lunch! Thank you so much for the delicious meal.“

“Went to Popi’s for the first time for HH. Awesome food / drink options for a very reasonable price. Quick, friendly service, delicious snacks on the HH menu (oysters, mussels, and baby fried shrimp sandos). Got some bread and butter to dip the bread in the mussel broth. Sat outside on a beautiful (but windy) day. Highly recommend!“

“Excellent food, clearly popular with tech conference goers (so crowded, trendy and loud), service was mostly great (watch out on food allergies), beautiful setting, classic SF elevated dining experience. Oysters were really good and fresh; our table had the swordfish, blackened cod and risotto - all excellent. We brought our own wine which once they figured out what it was they offered to decant it - all and all a really nice meal. The one watch out is we had someone allergic to gluten and another to dairy which we pointed out multiple times and they still brought us a dish that had diary - had to ask again to have it removed - once pointed out they quickly fixed it and verified everything was okay - but we really should not have had to ask a second or third time and then ask for an item to be removed from the table.“

“Anchor Oyster Bar is an icon in San Francisco in the heart of the Castro neighborhood. While their hours and space are limited, it's well worth the wait. The seafood selection is top quality and service is friendly & professional. I love the open kitchen with aromas that make you salvage.“

“Griot was so tasty: crispy, juicy and savory all at once. Totally mouthwatering: I ordered at lunch then ate the leftovers for dinner. A big plate of food with rice and beans and pikles, not too spicy, just right. Table service was excellent. Spacious patio on the corner of Swan’s marketplace, a pleasant place to spend an hour after Farmer’s Market.“

“Little Shucker is a charming seafood spot with a cozy, comfortable vibe. The baked oysters and the whole roasted fish are absolute must-orders—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The sauce is on the side and I’d say keep it that way. The Big Shucker platter was both impressive in presentation and fun to share, making it a highlight of the meal. The crab cake, however, was the least memorable dish for me.“

“I visited Sirene on 4 occasions during my last visit to Oakland (only 48hours!) Each time was great in its own right. From excellent specialty coffee and breakfast/lunch fare, with a mix of self service made easy and convivial. At dinner gets even better - exotic and exquisite food and wine (what a list! Even by glass), well portioned and presented, all paired up with excellent service from David - guiding you from food through wine and sequencing it all for ultimate delight. A piano which a patron played on during my last lunch made it all the more memorable. A must try neighbourhood gem!“

“Yeah this place is super fun. As far as oyster bars in the east bay I can’t think of a better spot. The decor is super cool sweet mix of modern meets east coast fishing house. The service was great and the oysters tasted great. When I come back I think I’ll try the fish and chips. The couple next to us got them and I was super jealous. The wine selection is also really good, small but it has 3 options for every type, what else do you need???
I’ve been here a couple of times now and will totally be coming back.“

The best I ever had…
But the heat is real.

“Haven’t been in years and boy howdy! It’s upgraded and then some. It’s not as divey as it used to be, but what’s here now is pretty cool! More places to hang (upstairs and down) with more views. The menu is expanded but still simple, good cocktails. The food has definitely improved a couple of levels and the prices are great for what you get. Awesome, friendly staff that wants you to have a great time!“

“Seafood Heaven!
Portofino Seafood Restaurant is a cozy spot on Grant Street in North Beach, San Francisco. With an old-fashioned charm, the menu is displayed on a hand-painted board instead of a website.
During our visit, owner Frankie Gaetano Balistreri greeted us warmly. Frankie and his wife run the restaurant, creating a friendly atmosphere that makes guests feel like family.
Our meal started with flavorful clam chowder, followed by a perfect beet salad. I had the Seafood Risotto with fresh seafood in tomato sauce, while my significant other enjoyed tender grilled halibut. Both dishes showcased the kitchen's skill.
We ended with a light tiramisu. Portofino excels among North Beach's Italian restaurants, especially for seafood lovers. Dishes like roasted sardines, sole almandine, and cioppino—a tangy tomato broth stew with shrimp, scallops, mussels, and squid—are standout options.
Frankie and his wife's passion for exceptional dining is evident, making Portofino a beloved spot in North Beach. It's the perfect place for a memorable meal in a warm, welcoming setting.“

“Wonderful restaurant, Absolutely outstanding experience! This Chinese roast duck restaurant delivers perfection in every detail. The duck is incredibly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and carved with impressive skill right at the table. The flavors are rich but never greasy, and the accompanying pancakes, scallions, and sauces are all beautifully balanced.
The service is warm, attentive, and efficient, and the staff make you feel truly welcome. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable—perfect for both family gatherings and special occasions.“
