“Menya Hanabi is a Japanese restaurant specializing in Nagoya-style mazesoba, a dry ramen-style noodle dish that focuses on bold flavors and mixing everything together rather than relying on broth. The restaurant keeps the setup casual and modern, with a simple ordering process and a menu centered around different variations of mazesoba. It has the kind of atmosphere that works well for a quick but satisfying meal, especially if you are looking for something different from traditional ramen.
The main reason to visit is the Nagoya mazesoba, and it delivers on what makes the dish popular. The noodles have a thick, chewy texture that holds up well once mixed with the toppings and sauce. The deluxe version is especially worth trying, loaded with ingredients like minced pork, chashu, egg, seaweed, green onions, fish powder, and garlic. The key is to mix everything together before eating, since each ingredient adds another layer of flavor and creates a much more balanced bite. The richness of the sauce and toppings can feel heavy at first, but adding vinegar toward the end helps cut through the richness and keeps the bowl enjoyable all the way through.
Beyond the mazesoba, the side dishes are also worth adding to the order. The takoyaki and potato croquettes are good choices if you want something extra alongside the noodles, with a crispy exterior and freshly made texture. The matcha drinks are also a nice addition, especially since they provide a lighter option to balance out the heavier flavors of the meal.
The ordering process is straightforward, though the restaurant can get busy during peak hours. Since it is a popular spot, arriving earlier can help avoid a wait. Portions are filling and the flavors are strong, so it is a good option when you are craving something hearty rather than a lighter noodle dish.
Overall, Menya Hanabi stands out because it does one thing really well: mazesoba. The combination of chewy noodles, bold seasoning, and customizable toppings makes it a memorable alternative to typical ramen spots. If you enjoy rich, flavorful noodle dishes and want to try a style that is less common, this is definitely worth adding to your list.“

“I’m really pleased with Le Shrimp Irvine. Their Hainanese chicken rice is the best I’ve had locally so far—the rice was flavorful, the ginger sauce was excellent, and the broth was rich, though slightly on the salty side.
My only disappointment was the chicken. I’m not really a fan of plain breast meat; I prefer the bone-in breast and drumstick pieces with skin, which I was told was an option. I was also informed they were out of the skinless breast meat, so I expected to receive the bone-in option I had ordered, but I still ended up with breast meat.
Overall, I’d rate the Hainanese chicken rice a 4.0. It tastes very authentic, with that Malaysian/Singaporean style I really enjoy.
I also tried the Shrimp Broth Trio Noodles with veggies, prawns, prawn balls, and wontons, and I loved the shrimp flavor. The broth reminded me of the Har Mee soup base I’ve had before, but with a richer, creamier, ramen-style twist. The fusion works well, and the flavor was delicious, but with a bowl packed with noodles, shrimp, wontons, and toppings, it became a bit too rich by the end. I would personally prefer it a little lighter and more brothy, but overall it was still very satisfying.
I’m excited to try more dishes. I also heard the owner is Singaporean and the chef is from Malaysia—fabulous!“

“My wife and I ordered the Salmon Lemon and Crunchy Spicy Tuna rolls, and both were amazing! We also tried the garlic edamame and the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna appetizer. Everything was delicious and perfectly balanced. I’m a picky person and not easily impressed. The prices were right, food was perfect, and our server was so sweet and funny. We will be back!“

“Delicious ramen. We tried the black garlic one and our daughter tried the shio with added egg. Small size is perfect for a child or if not too hungry. Husband and I shared a large and it was plenty for both. Inside Mitzuwa. After eating your meal you can get dessert inside the store. Very convenient.“

“High quality ramen in a business plaza, from the renowned HiroNori team. It's easy to overlook the small shop from the outside, especially being tucked behind a communal outdoor seating area for diners of the various establishments here. Easy to park in the large shared parking lot.
As others mention, there's only a few tables inside, but if you find a seat outside (each of the tables has umbrella coverage), the staff will bring and bus your food after you place your order inside. The drinks seemed a little gimmicky to me, but our target was definitely the ramen. We sampled the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna just to whet our appetites, and this was a nice texture bomb but nothing spectacular. The ramen however - definitely worthy of 5 stars. My Shoyu broth was umami but balanced and clean. Tonkotsu was rich and creamy. Perfect comfort food. The katsu was a tad overcooked in both bowls, but the noodles and jammy egg were perfect. I'm jealous of people who have the option to eat here on a regular basis!“

“Had a really good experience at GU Ramen Taps & Tapas recently. The ramen was flavorful, the tapas were perfect for sharing, and the drinks selection was solid too. We went during happy hour and the atmosphere was super fun and relaxed, definitely a place we’ll be coming back to.“

“I got spicy ramen (the last one in the list) and it was pretty good. The portions are adequate, I didn’t feel like I was gonna explode, but I felt comfortably full. They have a lot of vegetarian options. The prices are on the higher side though, probably due to its location. Otherwise it’s pretty good.
Vegetarian options: Almost all of their ramen have a vegetarian equivalent, and all the broth is vegetarian.
Parking: There are a lot of parking on either side of the mall.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the first floor and there are no steps. Access would be easy for someone on a wheelchair.“

“I was a patient at Hoag Irvine. For lunch I decided to have delivery from this Japanese restaurant.
All I can say was that I'm glad I did.
The sushi was very tasty and fresh with nice size portions. I'll be back with friends minus the hospital stay.
Cheers“
