“Outstanding experience dining here. Our server was incredible, super knowledgeable, confident, and clearly not their first rodeo with gluten-free dining. They knew every single dish inside and out, proactively pointed out shared fryer cross-contamination details, and clearly walked us through which items were fully gluten-free outside of regular soy sauce (super helpful for anyone with different tolerance levels). Finding a spot where the front-of-house understands dietary nuances that well without making it feel like a hassle is rare. Fantastic food, top-tier service, and total peace of mind. “Had the Wine flights ( bubbles and reds) and lunch. The food was freshly prepared with vegetarian options. The blue cheese was extraordinarily delicious and the English Chedder along with freshly prepared fig jam and pickled tomatoes were also delicious. The chef is for sure highly talented. The service was excellent. The bubble wines were very good with lots of taste and flavor. Some of the reds were not that good. Would not recommend this flight .“

The only downside I noticed was the restaurant's online presence. The website felt outdated, didn't offer online ordering, and the social media accounts weren't very active. As a tourist, this initially gave me the impression that the restaurant might not be very good. However, after visiting, I realized I couldn't have been more wrong. A modern, well-maintained website would better reflect the quality of the food and service and make a much stronger first impression on potential customers.“

“Took my family there last weekend. It was the best dinner experience we had for a long time. The drinks were great, the place is so chill- it looks like a regular bar/restaurant when you walk in, then there's the beautiful outdoor garden area as well. The service was attentive and very fast. Every one had their favorite dish from what we ordered. The Ceviche, the Wings, the Papaya salad, the Fish & Chips (do not get tricked by the name, it is not what you think), the Mentaiko Pasta, the Cucumber salad.. it was just perfect!“

“Backbone was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. I started with the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and had an amazing balance of flavors and textures. From there, I had the corn agnolotti, which was easily one of the highlights of the night. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the delicate, flavorful sauce complemented the sweetness of the corn beautifully.

For my main course, I had the steak and fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor, while the fries were crispy and seriously addictive. Everything on the plate worked perfectly together.

I finished with key lime and scoop of coconut sorbet, which was just as impressive and the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted every bit as good as it looked.

What made the experience even better were the people. Every employee I interacted with was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The chef was also incredibly nice and personable, which added such a special touch to the evening. You can tell there’s real passion behind what they’re doing, both in the kitchen and in the way they treat their guests.

The attention to detail at Backbone really stood out to me. The atmosphere was stylish and inviting, the service was exceptional, and the entire meal flowed perfectly from one course to the next.

Backbone is absolutely a restaurant I’ll be coming back to. From the tuna tartare and corn agnolotti to the steak, dessert, and amazing hospitality, the entire experience was outstanding. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while and an easy five stars. Highly recommend!“

“This is such a special place. My boyfriend and I were staying at The Arthur Blair House for the weekend and they highly recommended it to us...we were so happy to take the suggestion. We were welcomed into such a delightful and warm environment and immediately sat at the bar. Julie, the owner, is the kindest and sweetest woman and she cooks like an angel. Even though the menu says small bites, the portions are large enough to share and they are so so good. The menu is great, but be aware that they may not have everything due to availability...but what is available is awesome. We ordered the Caesar salad and the surf and turf plates and it was delectable. Julie, who is also the wine director for the restaurant, offered us a great selection of little known wines that blew us away to complement her amazing food. She has cultivated an environment that feels like you're being cooked for by family or your best friend. We will be back to The Saltner, for sure, as it's a new favorite place. If you're ever in Monrovia, be sure to go, you'll be glad you did.“

“Once we were seated, I immediately noticed the incredible atmosphere of the restaurant. People were lively, chatting with each other and enjoying a good time. It was a happy sight to see.

The staff were passionate, and it genuinely seemed like they wanted to be there.

We ordered the lamb ragu, squid ink pasta, a side of broccolini, and the veal dish. Originally, we were only going to order the pasta and veal, but we found ourselves craving more food because of how delicious everything was. Not only did it taste amazing, but it also felt homemade, and the ingredients were extremely fresh.

I loved how both pastas had their own unique tomato flavors. The mashed potatoes served with the veal were incredibly creamy without being overwhelmingly buttery. The veal itself was extremely tender.

Loved the food here, 10/10. The portions were generous as well and well worth the price.“

Wonderful service and unbelievably great music. We do wish for two things though. We love traditional full-bodied reds by the glass. They are hard to come by. We also love fresh vegetables, and as much as we love the fermented veggies we’d love to mix it up with more variety. Looking forward to becoming loyal, patrons and exploring this restaurant more.“

“This is your classic neighborhood bar. It feels sexy yet wholesome. During the day, it's chill enough to come with a laptop and get some work done. On weekends,its filled with families in the outdoor area. As the sun goes down, there is plenty of mingling.

Bartenders are awesome, friendly, and efficient. Great rotating beer selection along with some wine and seltzer. Food is served til late and is good enough to stand on its own.“

“Stumbled upon this place after googling Cajun food in Pasadena. Looked good so I went in. Food was great. They are not breaking new ground on unexplored culinary territory or anything, it’s southern, but it’s done well, quite well actually. Everything had loads of flavour, the fried chicken was salty and wonderful. The bbq shrimp was pumped up with creole seasoning. The angel biscuit was a nice and fluffy biscuit, pretty good, but I found myself wishing it was as served with some honey butter or some sweet element. Salty honey butter would be great. Oh and great prices on the food too.

The service was fine, friendly, attentive, etc.
the restaurant was very bustling too, I swear everyone in there was yelling, made it quite hard to talk to the people I was in town seeing. But oh well. You can talk after.

“Had to stop by my favorite Italian grubbin in the heart of Old Town Pasadena all the way from Boise. This was my 3rd time and each time just keeps getting better; definitely the bigger the party, the better. We paid $225 for 4 pasta entrees, 3 appetizers, & 2 glasses of wine for a party of 6. I’ve learned to like my pastas al dente after having them here. The meatballs are banging, the wine-pairing was delightful. Our service was attentive and pleasant; the vibe is always vibrant and homey. Highly recommended.“

“One of our favorites in Little Tokyo. I have been going here for more than a decade. Tofu sampler is always delicious. Sushi and sashimi cuts are of high quality. Over the years I have tried most of their menu and never had disappointment.“

“I came at 5:30pm on a Sunday and it wasn't very crowded which allowed me to easily get a seat. The atmosphere is the typical cafe vibe with k-r&b and lofi in the background and natural lighting, and the decor theme is cozy pastel blue + chrome. I tried this place because of the ATEEZ drink collab event and ordered the Mushroom Cream Baguette Sandwich, Spinach and Feta Pocket, and the Sweet Mamacita drink. They were all delicious, especially the Spinach and Feta Pocket which was very crispy! I wish I could buy more of these if the prices weren't as steep, but I understand that these may be typical L.A. prices. They were also filling, considering the decently small portion sizes, as I managed to get through the Spinach and Feta Pocket and my drink before I was full. I would recommend all of these items and dining in besides doing takeout like I did. It's overall a nice study spot with great snacks, and I'd come all the way out here just to try more items or just get the same ones I ordered!“
