“I have worked around the corner from Bench for years. I only recently got into coffee and so I've tried pretty much ever coffee shop in the near vicinity and this is by far the best latte in the area. Don't forget there is an upstairs seating area with a table and chairs.

The only thing that I would prefer is to have a couple comfortable chairs upstairs. If I could sit in a cushy chair I'd be so happy! But it's comfortable enough to be my go to spot now!“

“First time in the area and hadn’t eaten lunch yet. The spicy chicken sandwich is beyond delicious. I asked for the chilis on the side. Everything taste incredible. The ingredients tastes as fresh as that home cooked meal that only your family knew how to make, but you could never replicate.“

“This dinning experience was amazing! My son exclaimed that Tibetan food is now his favorite and he wants to eat here again next time we are in Berkeley. I was so excited to eat at this restaurant. I never had Tibetan food before this. I didn't realize that this restaurant didnt open up until 5pm on Saturdays, our event ended at 3pm but we explored Berkeley until they opened. My group ended up buying so many dishes to eat family style because we wanted to try everything. Some of the things that we ordered were- Ngoe-thuk (noodles) , Shea-thuk (soup), combination plate of momos, Trama Chura (tofu chips), Dhooloma Tsel-chu (eggplant), Tingmo (Tibetan bread), and Tofu curry. My personal favorite was the eggplant and tofu chips! The sauce the Dhooloma Tsel-chu is just fabulous!! We will be back“

“I enjoy this restaurant very much. The food is excellent and fresh. it’s served hot every time. The servers can speed up with taking orders but otherwise, they are o.k. The restaurant is ok. The seating is too close for me but I get it. There’s No parking. It’s excellent.“

“I spent about $45…for a whole bunch of yummy stuff! It’s amazing to be able to go straight to the bakery, and also kind of dangerous. You can see some of the menu on the window outside as you wait in line (there will almost always be a line), and you can peek in and see the day’s selection of breads and pastries. Only two parties at a time fit inside to order. There’s a small parking lot in front and more parking behind. I highly recommend the seasonal focaccia pizzas! An pain epi, just yum.“

“Beautiful, creative and delicious cupcakes! I got 4 cupcakes for my brother's birthday and it was put in a beautiful case to prevent them from flipping over. They have fun flavors like peach and key lime! I got a chance to taste the standard one which is the red velvet. The key to good cupcakes to me is the moisture of the cake and the right sweet/creaminess of the frosting. Capcakin definitely hits the mark! The price of cupcakes here is reasonable given that many things are expensive these days. Highly recommended if you celebrate any occasions or you just want to be happy eating good cupcakes :)“

“This is a local pedestrian Cafe along the bike trail. Great service. Great atmosphere. Their unsweetened chai is excellent. Most chai is too sweet. The Very limited indoor seating is taken up by laptop people who stay for hours. Outdoor seating next to a park is nice when the weather cooperates BUT be prepared to fend off demands for money. Sometimes we end up finishing our coffee elsewhere.“

“Small shop with warm food and an open fridge section of sushi. There was also a wall of snacks. Prices are very reasonable. No verbal communication which I think is fine but the woman dropped my packed sushi upside down and then tossed it into a bag. Sushi rice was a bit too hard for my liking.“

“Nostalgia, for me. Forty years ago, when I moved here, I lived around the corner. Loved the food and coffee (Peet's) and the buzzy atmosphere. So Berkeley. When I'm back in the neighborhood, I try to stop by for a good meal. Even after 30 years my son gets over the moon excited when I bring him a cheese puff. Also dropped off their out of this world pie to a family member battling cancer recovery. Everyone gets excited about their baked goods; however their meals are dang good too. Friendly staff as well. For some joy, go there!“

“The cutest little coffee shop attached to the Claremont. The service was impeccable. Attentive, kind, friendly, and warm. The drinks were delicious. Plenty of little snacks for hungry mouths. Games for playing. My wife would get a soy cappuccino in a ceramic mug every morning. I'd get a hot tea with honey, and a chai with almond milk later. Prices were reasonable compared to how much shops nowadays. Excellent shop! Highly recommended!!“

“I have had a few bad ban mi’s and I’ve been skeptical since. This place might have changed my mind. The chicken and ingredients were so fresh and flavorful. My ONLY complaint is that the bread was a little stale. Everything else hmm how do you say “bussed”? Give them a try!“
