“Picayune has been our most favorite spot to bring family and both old and new friends for over 12 years. The experience they are able to add to our visits are always filled with expertise, great wines and merchandise along with truly amazing customer service. The addition of Chef Ben who brings wonderful food and Picayune wine pairings together in a beautiful presentation is the latest must do for a sumptuous lunch experience. “Just as classy as you would expect. The grounds are gorgeous. Our host was a middle aged guy from the Peninsula, very fair completion, I'm sorry I can't remember his name, but was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We had a nice time. Only feedback is to have a few chairs around outside for those who are unable to stand comfortably for long periods.“

“We visited as part of the Platypus Wine Tour and enjoyed this winery very much. The wines are wonderful with great balance and just delicious. Erin, was our tasting coordinator who was a lot of fun and provided a good historical background and details of the wines. We ended up joining their wine club.“

“Frank Family Vineyards made a strong first impression on our journey in Napa. The tasting room is located in historic Calistoga, housed in a restored pale yellow craftsman home with a “park‑like” feeling around it. We sat outside for our tasting and it was a perfect scenery. Some of our favorite sparkling's that we tasted were Blanc de Blancs and Lady Edythe Reserve Brut. Kevin (our sommelier) was so knowledgeable, friendly and we would 100% recommend you request him for your visit!
Our experience delivered more than just good wine, it was a full Napa experience: beautiful setting, excellent hospitality, and a wide wine range. If you care about being treated well, having variety (sparkling, whites, reds, vineyard designations), and visiting a winery with character, Frank Family is the one for you!“

“We just completed our most recent visit to Laura Michael Wines in late October 2024 and, as always, it was a fantastic experience. We were served by Laura and enjoyed tasting and learning about several of the estate's wines. We keep coming back to Laura Michael Wines because the variety and quality of the wines is great and both Laura and Michael are a great source of knowledge about wine which if, like us, you are looking to understand the details and nuances of wine, is important. Among their collection, they have a great Zinfandel, a several great Cabs and a blend called "A Quiet Moment" that is perfect for just sipping on an autumn day. We highly recommend

“Wow this was such an amazing vineyard! We did the hilltop experience and upgraded our tasting to the Library Tasting and the Cab Sav tasting. Was fun to do something different and share both experiences. The gondola's were fun! Very clean and easy to use and a great addition to see Napa Valley. The team were all lovely, very friendly and welcoming and helpful. But I would add that they gave us the right amount of space to spend time chatting about the wines on our own. Loved the gift shop - great additions to the wine purchases. Highly recommend this as a stop whilst in Napa Valley!“

“We had a very nice tasting yesterday at Knights Bridge in Calistoga. Chrystal was very knowledgeable about the winery and wines in general. The tasting room has a quiet elegance with the very high bank ceilings. You won't be disappointed here!“
“We recently visited Calistoga for a wine tasting getaway. We stumbled upon August Briggs Winery while walking around and explore the downtown strip, and WHAT A FIND! Matt was so much fun to talk to and explained the intricacies of sourcing for various wines and considerations for selecting grapes for his wines. Not only did we learn a ton, but the wines were FABULOUS! We brought several bottles home and my partner has a list of new questions to ask next time we visit!

“What an amazing tasting! The location is gorgeous and secluded; our tasting was strategiacally placed to give us a beautiful view of the Mayacamas. Our host, Wilson, was the most knowledgeable host / sommelier we have ever had the pleasure of spending time with. The wines are absolutely exquisite, numerous of Chris Carpenter's as well as a few international delights. Can't wait to return!“
“Went on a Monday afternoon to meet a friend while visiting the area. The outdoor seating is gorgeous with plenty of space, and we basically had the entire area to ourselves. The server for the wine tasting experience was great! He was very informative about all the different wines we had the pleasure of trying, and even gave us a bonus taste of a more aged wine. The price was average for a wine tasting experience, so overall it was a great time. Would definitely go again given the chance!“
“I was curious about Checkerboard Vineyards so my wife and I made an appointment to visit and tour the winery. Long story short, it was the highlight of our visit to the Napa Valley. Gary, our guide, walked us through the cave and gave us an overview of the property. He also provided a truly fantastic tasting experience with knowledgeable insights and great descriptions of the wines from each of the vineyards on the property. We really appreciated the singular attention during our visit along with great conversation. I highly recommend this winery tour and their wines!“
“We visited in 2022 and enjoyed sampling the Petit Verdot that was in the production process. Great boutique winery..we bought several bottles of XRoads and Date Night... great bold wines. Beautiful tasting room... we loved the experience.“
“We did a tasting with Barbie and we couldn't have had more fun! She was funny, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. We were able to try plenty of wines and loved each one of them. We bought four bottles to take with us. By the end, it seemed we were all old friends! Wish we could have tried the sold out O.G. and La Verdad, but I suppose we will just have to go back next year. Would rate 6 stars if I could. Thanks Barbie, and thanks Carter Cellars for a great time and great wine.“

“Visited the winery back on June 14, 2018 for a tasting. Beautiful winery and caves. Friendly service. Reasonable tasting fee. Large selection of delicious wines including a white Malbec. Did not meet the owner but he had an interesting history and background. The statues in the cave along with music and stain glass windows was a perfect way to end the tour. Purchased some wine for my collection. Received today and it was well packaged. I would go back again in the future. Great photo opportunity in the caves to remember your visit.“

“This place was AMAZING! While visiting Napa Valley did the whole wine tasting experience, and was not disappointed. This was some of the tastiest wine I've ever had. Especially the pinot noir. Our server for wine tasting was exceptional. Moreover, the grounds are spectacular. There is a full chapel and tasting room and castle that make you feel like you are really in Tuscany. The grounds have animals including goats and emus. The beauty of this place is breathtaking. I will be dreaming about it.“
