Probamos la pizza “Me gustan tus piñas” 🍍🔥 Adobada, con piña, jalapeños, cebolla roja y salsa poblana. La masa está increíble, doradita, crujiente y con sabor real a trigo, como hecha en casa. El queso se derrite perfecto y al morderla es una explosión de sabor. “I come to San Diego often to visit my family, and during one visit I was craving Thai food so we looked up a place nearby and this restaurant came up. Luck was on our side because this turned out to be such a great meal! When my family and I came in we needed a table to seat 6 people and they quickly got a table together for us. I ordered the red curry with vegetables and this place truly lived up to its name! The ingredients tasted fresh and the curry was so delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. As we ate and talked we saw a lot of people come in to pick up take out orders, no one else came to dine in. There are a few tables though and I suggest dining in at least once a - we were able to meet the chef/owner and he was such a nice guy. Really seemed to care about each plate that came out. I can’t wait to visit my family again and enjoy some good food and conversation here!”

“As someone who’s pretty picky about Italian food in San Diego, this is one of the few spots that consistently delivers. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the quality doesn’t slip.
Get the chicken parm. The red sauce is the standout. You can tell it’s made with care, not just thrown together.
On top of that, the staff is genuinely welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. This is one of those places I keep coming back to and always recommend without hesitation.”

“The lady at the register was on the phone and ignored us we came in. No greeting or anything. Then the other waitress saw us and told us to sit wherever we want. So we sat ourselves. The waitress was nice. She took our orders. We had a combination of lasagna and spaghetti, margherita pizza, and philly cheesesteak. We also ordered fettuccine alfredo and pepperoni pizza for to go.
The only thing I didn’t like much was the philly cheesesteak. The steak has a different taste and not much of grilled bell peppers and onions. I asked the waitress for pepperoncini on the side.

The food is absolutely delicious everytime! The wait staff are exceptional also, so you'll want to give a good gratuity! If you sit at the first booth when you enter, you'll be cold because the staff and customers are constantly coming in and out so there's a cool breeze everytime the door is opened so for people who get cold quick, bring a sweater. I nearly bought another bowl to go for tomorrow's dinner then remembered the price of gas 😅 Light, airy, roomy interior. Has a juke box and a pool table. The family that runs it were super nice, helpful, and, man can she cook! Parking is metered but fairly cheap $1.50 for 2 hours before 6. You might get lucky on a side street. Price of everything at lunch including 20% tip was under $40 I'm not going to try to spell the name of their house made sauce but it's also delicious”

Why you might ask? The servers and the other staff you assist the servers with waters and all the details are attentive and excellent service ! I love the fact their hospitality is one that’s not like many they anticipate my needs actually engaging with me . I like that they refill my waters and cafe de olla without hesitation. Today’s era 2026 a lot of restaurants are lacking what this restaurant El Prieto cantina demonstrating true hospitality atmosphere and I really value that ! It’s a Sunday afternoon and I’m enjoying the flavor and quality of my full order Birria !

“Went here probably 8x, mostly made the same order and it came out different each time. If a menu says the pizza toppings, you'd expect those toppings or get told if something was out. Nope 1x we literally had a single sliver of green pepper and 2 slivers of onion.... 2x there were no veggies at all. 1x asked for no mushrooms and they put extra. I even showed the owner pictures of the previous pizzas and pictures of the receipts, he said he would fix it. The next visit was the correct pizza and decent portion of chicken. The following visits were back to the same missing veggies and such.🤷🏼♂️ The consistency here is just horrible. Some times the pizza is cooked perfectly and others it is soggy and cold in the middle. As for the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, it often has a very very small portion of chicken. 1x it was what I felt a decent portion. If they were more consistently good we'd be back probably weekly. I would say 6 of the 8x we had issues. I don't like sending food back, but also want what I pat for. Some staff are very friendly and do an excellent job, checking in just enough. However some employees seem they hate their job and we have to ask 2 to 3x for more water or ranch. I was excited to have found a new place, but sadly the overall quality is just a coin flip. For the price it isn't worth the hassle. And our visits have never been during a busy time. I won't accept anything to return, I have it enough chances. Also don't believe their 5 star reviews as they offer you a free desert in exchange for a 5 star review.”

“Hanu is my go to AYCE Korean BBQ spot. I've tried a few in San Diego and something about this place keeps me coming right back. I recently stopped in the Friday before Valentine's day to treat my wife and daughters to a nice dinner. This was their first experience with a meal like this and it definitely was an experience they haven't stopped talked about. To start off, there was about a 5-7 minute wait around 6pm which worked out perfectly. Our server Anthony went above and beyond without even knowing it. He along with every other staff member working that night was on point. Within a few minutes I had started cooking our first round of meat. Everything from the sides to all the different types of meat we got were amazing. Anytime I asked for anything whether it was another fork, another side or round of meat for the table, Anthony was on top of it. I had to get his attention before leaving and thank him for truly giving us an amazing dining experience. I would absolutely recommend coming here anytime you're in the mood for some BBQ.”

“We ate here today. First, in anticipation, we bought a gift card at Costco for $79 with a $100 value. If you're taking a larger party there or plan on going back a couple times, grab one of these for 20% off of whatever you're going to buy anyway.
They start your table off with a chopped chibata roll and herb oil dip.
We ordered a pizza Hawaiian style with cauliflower crust and a tasty dish called Dynamite shrimp. We ordered our son a child's menu cheese pizza and broccoli (I've added a kids menu).
It was 5:30pm on a Tuesday and traffic was pretty easy and our waiter was fairly knowledgeable.
The pizza was definitely far more tasty than that frozen disc CPK sells I've been buying in the store.
The Dynamite shrimp 🍤 was a pleasant surprise. It was a nice balance of the spicy shrimp with a blender Hawaiian pizza.
I haven't eaten at a CPK in years ( I don't feel that CPK initials had caught on the last time I ate in here), but I'm glad I dropped in.
Also, side note: the bathroom is well managed. Bye.”

“I read the reviews for this place and I was curious to try it, being Mexican, I’ve never been too impressed by tacos in San Diego, there are good tacos but there’s always something better down south.
I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back.
Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos.
I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food…
The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts.

“I frequent this taqueria at least every other week; if I could, I would daily. The food is always incredible, you can't go wrong with the taco de adobada or torta adobada. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. One time they noticed I got shorted a taco before I did and gave me an additional taco. I didn't even ask for that, they were just nice. The music is always a vibe when you choose to dine in. Definitely a 10/10 experience every time.”

“As a local, among all the taco places I tried in San Diego, I’m certain that this place is the best. Don’t want to compare specifically here with other famous taco places in SD, but this place is the most similar to tacos I tried in Mexico. The tacos were made with extremely fresh ingredients and they were super tasty. Service is also very good! FYI, I went there in a perfect time like 4pm and there was so wait, but I saw the line was getting long when we existed around 5pm. Controversially, I personally have thought SD does not actually that many good taquerias (I think LA is much better) but I’m glad I finally found a very good one here”
