They have super fun seasonal drinks, amazing flavored cold foam, and strong high quality coffee. Plus no upcharges for alternative milks. Pastries are delicious and so are their breakfast burritos.

Beyond the fantastic drinks and food, the staff is incredibly nice and part of the reason I keep coming back. Hospitality makes a huge difference, and they're doing it right. Absolutely no notes!“

“Way better coffee than the chain coffee shops, and Chai is delicious too. They offer two chai selections, vanilla and spice, or mix the two. Small selection of pastries, which are average, packaged protein bars and juice shots, and a few breakfast items on the menu. Will try one of those next time. Friendly staff that you don't mind tipping, and cute, simple decor. Plenty of free parking.“

“Rooster Tea had a nice selection of teas available. Their drinks were really sweet here, especially the fruit teas. I should have gotten 50-75% sweet. The drinks were better after I diluted the milk tea with milk and the fruit teas with 3x water.

* Taro Coconut Milk Tea (non caffeine) 4.5/5 - This was a very nice drink. It had a strong, smooth taro taste which I really liked. The coconut milk was pretty understated, and I didn't really taste it.

* Strawberry Hisbiscus Tea 3/5 - This was a sweet drink, but the flavors didn't really come through. 100% sweet was too much for me and I had to add more water to make it drinkable.“

“This was the best experience ever. I’m not sure what his name was, but this guy with bleached hair who was working the register was the greatest of all time. Keep him forever. He was so accommodating, answered all of our questions and could not have been a better employee. “I visited Yakun after reading the Korea Daily feature, and honestly, it felt less like a typical dinner and more like a carefully crafted experience.

Yes, it is definitely not a cheap omakase spot — but after the meal, I completely understood why. From the moment the first skewer came off the binchotan charcoal grill, you could taste the level of detail, technique, and intention behind every course. Nothing felt rushed or overly flashy. Everything was refined, balanced, and thoughtfully paced.

What impressed me most was that Yakun doesn’t try too hard to be trendy. The atmosphere is calm, intimate, and confident in its identity. You can really feel the chef’s philosophy throughout the entire course.

If you are looking for a casual quick bite, this may not be the place. But if you appreciate craftsmanship, premium ingredients, and the kind of dining experience that stays in your memory afterward, Yakun is absolutely worth trying at least once.
