“The service was poor. I placed the order too quickly and got it wrong. I immediately found a waiter. Just one or two minutes after placing the order, I was told that it was already being prepared and couldn't be cancelled. I will never come here again.“

“Liholiho is a fantastic restaurant! The space is modern and beautifully designed, with an open kitchen where you can watch everything being prepared, which adds a lot of energy and transparency to the dining experience.
The service was very friendly, attentive, and quick. The cocktails were excellent, and even the non-alcoholic one I ordered was made with care and tasted great.
The food was outstanding. The bun with beef tongue was extraordinary, the tuna tartare and ceviche were perfectly balanced and fresh, and the shrimps with crispy rice were especially memorable. All dishes showed creativity, originality, and were prepared with high quality ingredients.
For three people, including first and main courses, drinks, and one dessert, the bill came to $260, which I found fair for this level of quality. The only minus point is that the restaurant does not offer coffee, which would have been a nice way to finish the meal.
Overall, I really enjoyed everything at Liholiho. Highly recommended, and I hope I will get to return again!“

“One of the greatest dining experiences I’ve ever had. Each dish was so incredible because of its seasonal selection of ingredients and exquisite presentation.
The staff were very attentive, and the atmosphere was so colorful that we wish we could stay all night 🙌“

“We dined in for a late lunch as a family of three. The yelp waitlist indicated a 10-20 minute wait and we were surprised to receive a text 5 minutes later.
Food came out hot and fresh. We ordered the Juicy Pork Bao, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Zha Jiang House Special Bean Paste with Mince Pork, Boiled Pork and Chive Dumplings and Fried Tofu.
While there is no separate kids menu, our thirteen month old loved his food so much that he stayed in his high chair for the duration of the meal.
Would highly recommend!“

“Teakwood exceeded our expectations in many respects. The ambience was nice and not loud. The food was spectacular. The drinks were well crafted. The only thing that let the experience down was slow service which I believe was not entire the food server's fault.“

“Base Camp was on our list for a few weeks and we just finally went for a late date night on a friday! The atmosphere was perfect - busy and full of people enjoying each other and beautiful food, but not crowded or loud. The owner woman greeted us and she was working HARD making sure everyone was having a nice experience. Our server was a handsome young man with a nice voice and great knowledge of the menu. We ordered 6 or 7 items total and we had a WONDERFULLY complex feast full of DELICIOUSNESS... Wow. I love the food here. Everything was amazing. I stuffed myself a bit more than I usually would just to try more things.“

“I visited Mashita Galbi Jjim on a Sunday evening around 6 PM with a party of four, and to my surprise, there was no wait—we were seated right away. With only two staff members working the floor, the restaurant still managed a steady rhythm of service. The space itself is inviting, with a high ceiling that makes it feel airy, a clean bathroom (always a plus), and a generally cozy environment that sets the stage for a comfortable meal.
For food, we ordered two dishes: the pork tonkatsu and their signature galbi jjim. The tonkatsu arrived quickly, golden and crispy, delivering the kind of satisfying crunch and savory bite you’d expect from a well-executed cutlet. The galbi jjim, however, was a different story. It took about 30 minutes to reach our table, which seems to be the norm based on observing other tables. While the wait did build anticipation, it also disrupted the pacing of the meal. When it did arrive, the flavors were solid—rich, hearty, and braised with care—but not quite at the level of depth or complexity I’ve had elsewhere. Personally, I still prefer Daeho’s version, which leans more memorable in both flavor and overall experience.
Service was professional and efficient given the limited staff, though not particularly warm or engaging. It felt more functional than personal, but everything we needed was taken care of without issue.
In terms of ambiance, Mashita balances casual comfort with a slightly polished feel, making it a nice spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family.
Value-wise, the restaurant is fairly priced for the quality and portion sizes. While the food is solid and the dining experience smooth overall, I didn’t find it compelling enough to make this my go-to spot for galbi jjim.
Final verdict: 4/5. A reliable option with cozy ambiance and decent execution, but not quite distinctive enough to stand out in a city with strong competition.“

“Got the jian bing guo zi (burrito) for $14. Came with egg, scallions, crunchy lettuce, hoisin, sesame, mayo, and choice of chicken, beef, pork floss, or sausage (can pick 2 out of 4). Ordered via a very clear self-service menu and ready in 5 min. Came out piping hot and precut into two halves, perfect for sharing. Heavy sizable portions. Excellent snack while strolling around Sunset.“

“Try the steamed rice rolls. We tried the beef brisket rice roll and chose the green onion and mushroom toppings. These are made fresh and took about 5 minutes to cook. The brisket was tender and tasty and if you like spicy food make sure to add the jalapeno soy sauce. This was delicious. Value-wise this was good. Orders are larger than ordering at dim sum restaurants.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant interior has two counters, seating for five people, no restroom.“

“Kayah is another location of the Burma empire in SF. The location is quite nice, right next to the Chase stadium and hospital. The service is excellent, our server was attentive and took great care of us, answering questions about dishes in detail.
The good is where this place really falls short. We found the dishes to be quite bland and sometimes undercooked. We ordered the spicy noodles, which were not spicy at all and the noodles very very al dente. The several tofu dishes we ordered tasted identical, the paratha curry had very little flavor, it was just very disappointing. The saving grace was the tea leaf salad and the garlic eggplant dish, both were quite tasty. But for the price, I really expected more, both in quantity but especially quality.
We really wanted to like this place but will not be coming back.“

“Great dumpling restaurant, reminded me of going to dim sum, but with larger portions! They had a large selection marked with a green dot for Vegan. 💚
Absolutely loved the bean curd salad, the garlic noodles, the veggie bun, and the red bean pancake!
Super duper nice staff, took really good care of us!“

“Been coming since they first open and I know and read it’s hit or miss on service depends on the day and person working but for my years of experience I’ve always enjoyed it. As long they get the usual food I order right and on time, on top of that food and dessert is good than this place is a four star for me. They don’t need to check on us or serve us like kings or queens because it’s a Hong Kong dessert house people. It’s not Gary danko with a $$$$ sign. The price is good. I usually get the egg puff which is better than all egg puff location even eggette. The HK milk tea is good but not as good as honk kong, fried garlic chicken wings, soy sauce wings, ham egg sandwich and mix fruits. Oh their green tea ice cream is a no no but vanilla is fine. They use the same batter for the waffle as the egg puff which is so yummy! Moving on that’s my usual order which has kept me going here for years. Wish they open earlier but I know they cater to the late people.“

“This is just as bomb as it was years ago when I lived here. Get the garlic edamame. I admit I am biased. I prefer Asian food to all other food. I lived in Asia.. The banh mi sandwich is on point. The noodles are all delicious . Tim is a great server. I’m a little high maintenance. By little I mean a lot. He was super patient with me and accommodating. Thanks Tim!“

“This place is wonderful! I've tried almost everything on the menu, standout items are xiaolongbao, fresh cucumber salad, zha-jiang noodles, and spicy wontons. All of the vegetable dishes are good, but the spicy green beans are my favorite. I live in the neighborhood so I go every week, one of the best places in linda mar.“

“A no-frills place for authentic comfort Chinese (and a few other non-Chinese but still Asian) dishes that is very convenient for those arriving late at SFO airport (they open past midnight). Walking distance to a few hotels or to a bus stop along El Camino Real, which passes several hotels in the area. I ordered the beef rib pho and fried oysters. I was satisfied with my meal and the beef rib was tender and flavorful. If ever I arrive in SF late at night on another trip, I won't hesitate to eat at this restaurant again.“

“A Chinese friend introduced to this place many, many years ago, rediscovered it recently. Been there a number of times since, food good, prices low. Contrary to some reviews, I do not find staff to be rude, in fact they are friendly and approachable, esp when you are return customer. Husband and wife run the place, they are there all the time, work hard, long hours to make a living. I would recommend to anyone looking for a family restaurant with authentic Chinese cuisine!“

“got a light dinner here before keshi's sf concert! the place was surprisingly empty at 5pm and we were seated right away. we ordered the beijing noodles and pork xiaolongbao to split between four people. the dishes were flavorful and refreshing but the portions were teeny tiny for the price. i wouldn't eat here again out of consideration for my wallet.“

“Authentic chinese food. We ordered pork dumpling with green chives, shanghai soup dumplings, beef roll pancake, pork potstickers, spicy beef tendon, and fried mashed taro cake. Except the fried mashed taro cake, everything was delicious.
The shell of the taro cake was a bit tough for us to chew, I wish they make it with some other kind of pastry wrap or best yet just oil fry some taro filled buns .“

“Wow, really like the food. Visited this area for my wife's company event and found they have less spicier vegetarian option. After my kids loving the noodles, we ordered more . I really liked my spicy chicken noodle too. The quantity is good for the price we pay for. Definitely visit it again !!“

“Found this little gem while on a layover at SFO and the food was amazing! I had the Curry Sliced Beef Ramen and it was probably the best I’ve had. The ordering technology threw me off but I got over it quickly, it is 2025. As far as atmosphere…..just a bunch of people quietly eating lunch. I only gave the service 2 stars because it is an online order and someone just deeply it off at the table. Would definitely recommend though.“

“Came here after shopping at Hmart and it was so convenient to come here!
Good:
- Food came out super quickly and it was no more than 5 minutes wait
- The large jjajeongmyeon was perfect for 2 people to share - it even came with some appetizers and banchan so it was a perfect amount of food for us
- The noodles were so chewy and the texture was perfect - really good savory flavor
Bad:
- We had to wait for a table and got lucky with one, but it's a pretty crowded space
- Very casual hole in the wall, so you can't stay for a long time
Overall this was a good experience and how efficient it was added to the appeal.“

“Truly the king of sizzling pots. Boy when that pot comes out is it sizzling and hot.
Overall I find that the restaurant is pretty chill. The people working there seem cool and authentic, and the food is tasty too. The menu has a lot of different things to choose from so you can just eat what you like. The way it’s cooked is also really nice, as the texture of the meat is very tender.
For desert we got the fried bread and condensed milk. And it was tasty too, tantalized our taste buds“

“Whenever I have a layover in SFO I rejoice quietly because I know I’m going to stop here and grab sushi. People who rate this place poorly don’t know what they’re missing. Excellent sushi and super awesome selection. Yes it’s sushi in an airport so it’s not going to be an omakase experience. And yes the rice is cold but it’s all great. Do it.“
