“For this yankee, the pizza was as close as it gets to any NY style pizza! The crust was perfectly thin (not too thin), the sauce had just the right amount of sweetness and the cheese had a good bite. The service was neighborhood friendly. The young men working knew the teens coming in. They were all pretty down to earth and polite. To too off the experience, very affordable!“

“I’ve been to Felix multiple times over the years, and in general, I think it’s a fantastic restaurant with consistently high-quality food. That’s why this review is disappointing to write.

The last two pasta dishes I’ve ordered have been underwhelming. My previous visit, the carbonara fell short, and this time the cacio e pepe was even more disappointing.

The cacio e pepe was overwhelmingly peppery, lacked the rich, creamy Pecorino Romano flavor that defines the dish, and tasted like it had little to no cheese. It was nothing like a proper cacio e pepe should be. I had just returned from Italy a few weeks ago, where I ate authentic cacio e pepe at small local trattorias, so I know exactly how beautifully simple and balanced this dish can be. Unfortunately, Felix’s version completely missed the mark. Considering the restaurant’s reputation and premium prices, I expected much more.

To make matters worse, the service at the bar was disappointing. Not once during the meal did anyone ask how the food was or whether everything was okay. A simple check-in could have given us the opportunity to share our concerns while we were there.

I genuinely hope the team takes this feedback constructively because Felix is still a great restaurant overall, and I’ve had many excellent meals here. That’s exactly why these last two visits have been so surprising. I hope they address these issues and bring the pasta back to the standard that made Felix such a standout in the first place.“

“My wife and I went to the Grove in Los Angeles last night and we had dinner at "Sogno Toscana," an it was outstanding. It was perfect in every way; great food, great drinks, outstanding and friendly staff, beautiful location, etc. I love Italian food but I can't think of one Italian restaurant that I like, until "Sogno Toscano." The food was outstanding, and there was so much more we saw go by that we can't wait to go back and try. And the drinks were outstanding. I love martini's and they served the best martini I've ever had. Giacomo was our server and took great care of us. He's from Italy and "Sogno Toscana" brought him to America when they opened their New York restaurant, and now he's in LA for this new restaurant. Although very busy, the entire staff were very fun to be around, and most of them are Italian which is also great.“

We ordered the Japanese pizza, which came burnt on the bottom, with very little cheese and unappealing arugula (even when we requested extra parmesan, they brought a minuscule portion). The warm olives were unpleasantly bitter, and the spaghetti was completely average. To make matters worse, the venue was overwhelmingly loud, and the crowded middle tables leave zero privacy, making it feel like everyone is seated together. Definitely not returning“

“I took my husband for Father’s Day brunch/lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant here in the Palisades and as always it did not disappoint. It never does. He loved his steak and eggs, steak was Devine and I loved my chick pea soup. Always have the panne cotta and the cherry gelato and an espresso in their delightful patio and you’ve been to Italy!“

“Sophia was an INCREDIBLE server, whilst the food was phenomenal she made the entire experience so special and worth every penny. We had the Caprese and the Veggie and clearly we could have shared one sandwich as we ended up having half and then having the other half for dinner at home.

For five dollars extra you can upgrade and include a drink and a bag of potato chips. Very good food, the bread was fresh out of the oven and the ingredients were amazing.

Outside seating in a nice shaded patio. I definitely recommend.“

The staff handled the mistake very professionally and apologized immediately. They quickly brought us the correct order, and the service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive. “Osteria Vera is a great spot for an authentic Italian meal. The food was delicious and service was great. The menu is a bit limited, but all dishes were top rate Italian. The place is low key and has a very cozy neighborhood vibe. Lovely and fun and easy. “Happy New Year Y’all!!🥂✨🤘🏼🥳 As many of you know I’ve been playing piano and singing at Casa Ado in Venice for the last 3.5 years, for a total of 700+ shows. There have been two paintings with me in them, a painted recording of this era of my life! It is unclear what will be happening with the restaurant going forward, as there may be some ownership change. Everyone is sort of holding their breath, and for now, music has not been included in January of 2020. There is talk it could go either way in Feb. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Thank you all who have come and supported me these past few years on Washington Square and I will keep everyone posted as to what settles out in the next bit of time.
