Parking is easy, the café is clean, and the staff is always so friendly. The food is honestly so good—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. We’ve tried the sandwiches, wraps, and coffee, and everything tastes gourmet, like it’s made with real, handmade love. Even my picky husband is obsessed with their food, which says a lot.

“So glad I found this little gem. My turkey club sandwich was slap your grandma delicious. My plate had a scoop of potato salad in the middle, I like potato salad enough but not crazy about it, this little scoop was so good, I will order a full side of it next time I go back, so, so good. My sandwich was really great, wheat bread was perfectly toasted and savory, bacon was thick and slightly crispy, just how I like it, turkey was fresh, veggies were crunchy and fresh, little pickle slices on the side. This place is old-school, too, nothing fancy just simple delicious fresh food. It's owned by a sweet middle-aged Japanese couple. I paid $14 for my sandwich with a Dr. Pepper of course 🧐“

“We love Fat Sal's.
We go there for smash burgers mostly. I definitely haven't eaten every one, but of all the smash burgers I've had all over the city, Fat Sal's is to me the best. Lacey and crispy around the edge, American cheese as God intended on a smashburger, good bun and you can add lettuce and tomato if you want. Sometimes we'll get a loaded side of fries as well. The menu is full of delicious sounding, but a little over the top combinations of things piled up on a smashburger or a sandwich. I'd love to try them, but the regular smashburger is so delicious. They have a pastrami smashburger on the menu, but it has chicken tenders and a bunch of other stuff on it as well. I don't want all of that, I want a smashburger with griddled pastrami added to it, maybe some Swiss. The regular smashburger, maybe with an extra Patty added is the go-to for both of us.
The staff working there all knows and recognizes us. They're very friendly, and very customer service oriented. They always want to make sure we have everything we need and that we're taken care of, they'll swing by the counter where we're eating to see if we need any more ketchup, napkins, etc. It's really next-level service for this kind of a fast casual. Lots of TVs up high on the walls showing whatever sports is on, plus a Fat Sal's Venice Beach skater video running on a loop. Recommend if you like a delicious smashburger in a cool low-key environment with great service. And who doesn't?“

“If the owner or upper management reads this for all the workers that worked today around 2:15pm please give them raises or a huge shout out for me pretty please! I had just left my doctor office five minutes prior that gave me some disturbing news on a life long auto immune condition and I’m sure it was me but the sandwich end up having oil and vinegar on it when I intended to say put it on the side I felt myself just bursting into tears and just saying I’m sorry that’s not what I was saying etc. the compassion that literary ALL of the employees in their showed omg I highly rate this location if for nothing else the world class customer service and as one of them said to me “of course Jersey sandwich should help your day get a little better” !!!
