“Our church, Triedstone MBC, just hosted a luncheon for our leadership team. It was catered by Darrow’s New Orleans Grill. We were very pleased with our experience. The food was delicious. And the service was great! They arrived early. And the food was hot. The owner, Norwood, presented the food with a very appetizing description of each entree. Everyone loved it! Additionally, the portions were very generous. And everyone went back for seconds. At Triedstone, we do everything with excellence. And Darrow’s definitely met the challenge. We say, “Thank You” to Norwood and his entire staff. We look forward to doing more business with you in the near future. Sincerely Submitted, Pastor Quentin T. Oden and Lady Shelley Oden TRIEDSTONE MBC Carson, CA“

“It was even better than I remember. I had the catfish po boy, chicken & waffles. The French bread, remoulade sauce & generous seasoning of the fish were delicious. I would definitely not consider myself a grits fan but the fried cinnamon sugar grits…so good. I can definitely post photos of empty boxes but other than that ??♀️. You’re going to have to order your own. Make sure you order directly on the restaurant site www.gritznwafflez.com. Signed up with my email when I ordered & got a discount.“

“I couldn't believe all you can eat could be served with this quality and price
Their sushi menu is as very nice as sushi bars or better!
Try garlic noodles and your eyes will be widen!!!
The server was very kind too! Definitely try this!!
I heard that the boiled crab was too salty, so I looked for a restaurant that was less salty and would suit Korean tastes. After taking a bite of the garlic noodles, I thought, ah, this is the place. The level of saltiness varies slightly depending on the type of seafood. The seasoning for things like scallops and shrimp was just right when eaten mild, and the crab was marinated in seasoning so it was a little saltier. I ate the sushi roll when it was a little salty and it was fantastic. They gave me a nurungji style sushi roll, which isn't available in Korea. It's really... really delicious, isn't it? To be honest, you can get it at this price even in Korea, but I never imagined I could get it with this quality and taste in LA. The price is great, but the quality doesn't match the price, and the price is too much!! There were so many different types of sushi and rolls, so I ate as recommended and was really impressed. I thought this place would soon become as famous as boiling crab!! Be sure to go!!“

“I didn't like the coating of their fried oysters and fried catfish, and the oysters were overcooked.
The seafood boil was really good though. And their bathroom was really clean. Good thing cuz if you get Medium or hotter... gurl... you're gonna need it! ??“

“I was visiting the LA area from Oakland, CA for personal business. I had numerous food choices to select from near my hotel. I’m so GLAD I selected this business. Although it wasn’t the easiest to find (ghost kitchen) the food more than made up for my difficulties in finding the location.
Also, I wasn’t particularly adept at navigating their website so I called and received very patient help in placing my order.
I ordered the Fried Catfish and Shrimp Dinner w/Collard Greens, Fries, and Cornbread.
The Catfish was seasoned well and fried golden brown. The Shrimp were large and fried similarly. Ample/generous condiments of hot sauce, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce were included.
The Collard Greens were tender and tasty and reminded me of the fresh greens I enjoyed from my Mother’s garden as a child.
The French Fries were actually seasoned fries and were tasty although my first choice of Mac N Chees was not available. I’ll make sure to get on my next visit.? The peach cobbler I selected for dessert topped my meal off perfectly.
Though my order was probably basic, the food quality, proportions, taste, and service rendered, I feel was exceptional. Thus, the review.
I live in the Bay Area of CA where I dine out 3-4 times each month. As an African-American, I support our businesses as often as I can. Though it’s taken for granted, SOUL FOOD isn’t as easy as it seems to prepare.
I am pleased to say my meal was DELICIOUS and I plan to visit again on my next visit to LA. The name is befitting my experience…”This Sista Can Cook!”“

“I highly recommend the Gumbo!! 10/10 stars!“
“Cajun outdoor shack with fried seafood options, gumbo, and even alligator. There’s a small parking lot behind the building. Credit cards are accepted. Outdoor dining only (no indoor options) and there’s delivery and takeout available. As other reviews and the sign on their window notes, you won’t get the food quickly since it’s slow food and that’s part of the whole experience. You scan a QR code to get the menu. I opted for a fried catfish and five shrimp plate which came with an option of two small sides. I got the red beans and rice as well as fries. The red beans and rice were hot and comforting; the fries are crinkle cut. The plate came with a side of tartar sauce and there are hot sauces and ketchup available at each table. They have a paper towel roll and hand sanitizer at each table as well. The fish isn’t as seasoned as I would’ve expected but the shrimp was super fresh and tasty. I had leftovers and they still kept relatively well the next day.“

“Love the chicken and waffle so much that the “eggshell” waffle is spongy soft! It’s super chill to eat at the alley, food will be delivered to your table after mobile ordering by scanning the QR code. feels like a take out with seats offered. (yes dog friendly)have to say my table was wobbling and a bit dangerous to eat on. this happens a lot at outdoor restaurants just it’s a little struggling“

“I normally go to the Baldwin Hills location behind the theatre, but unfortunately it closed. But I was excited to find this location, Very clean, A rating. No fishy or bad smells when I walked in. Loved the kiosk menu. I was able to discover other options besides what I’m aware of. I ordered my food to go, and the service was excellent. Wonderful service, didnt take too much time for my order to be ready. The cashier even walked to my car and personally handed me my order. When I got home my food was packaged neatly, it was still hot, and everything was as I ordered. No mistakes! I ordered the peeled shrimp and crab legs with sausage, potatoes, corn and rice with a side of OMG sauce (extra spicy). Everything was delicious, only dislike was that the sauce was very thick and overwhelmed with garlic, I prefer it less gritty and more runny/soupy, But overall I will definitely be ordering from here soon and try the rest of the menu.“
“Oh my goodness! It's a good thing it takes effort to get some of this goodness! Or I'd be there everyday! The box of wings, those wings are huge! Collard greens were so good! Then those loaded tater tots! Definitely loaded and delish. Got the 2 sliders cuz you know sliders are a little smaller, but not these! They're as big as my hand! The mac & cheese was rich and creamy and was definitely comfort food! Scored today too! Apparently they have a leg quarter special - free if you order two combos! Tomorrow too! Everything was super good! Will definitely make the trek again!“

“I Ordered Clam Chowder & Crab Cakes
Clam Chowder Is My Favorite Soup Of All Time,
My Potatoes Were A Little Hard Which Made Me A Little Sad But It Was Good
& Im Guilty Of Catching Them Open About 45
Minutes Before Closing So That Could’ve Been Why, No Biggie.
But With The Crab Cakes I Was Totally Surprised, Usually The Order Would Just Be The Couple Of Crab Cakes & A Sauce.
But When I Opened The Box I Was Surprised To See (2) What You Can Say Crab Cake Sliders With Like A Garlic Spread On Buns Along With A Healthy Sized Amount Of Fries For A Veryy Good Price. They Also Have Seafood Bags, Seafood Pasta, A Plethora Of Yummy Menu Items. Staff Were Really Nice, Restaurant Clean Neat & Spacious. I RECOMMEND.
Parking: Can Get Busy I Assume,
A Strip Mall Located On Imperial & Figueroa.“

“The food is good when they have the right chef other times is like they just want to cook something fast and mess up the food like one example the kung pao chicken should be spicy but it wasn't this 3rd time that I went there also the spicy fish wasn't either and no flavor ,and I've tried those before and it was “

“Good food and good cheer, felt like Louisiana even with the Rams supporters (Saints fans can never forgive the Rams). I wanted the okra gumbo but none available on the weekends, so seafood it was... With my fried oyster po-boy, I asked for potato salad but they gave me fries by accident and that was just fine because those fries were very very good. Service was pretty relaxed but still faster than NOLA, and both Marquisha and Miss Kimberly were very friendly. All and all a good experience but not cheap -- WORD TO THE WISE: for drink I got a Coke on ice and didn't think to check price on menu or ask to see if refills were covered. Those two cokes were $6.50 each -- good thing I didn't ask for a refill, it would have been more than the po-boy. Get water!!!!!“

“This is a local place with good food, good people and a nice relaxed atmosphere. It's a bit pricey but it is good. We got the triple threat (shrimp, shrimp, and more shrimp), and it was good (the house sauce was very good, not too spicy, not bland at all). It is expensive, averaging 35 to 45 per person, but it was good. Have i said that enough. I went when It first opened, and it was ok, I think it has gotten better, or at least this time, it was better.“

“We were greeted immediately and sat. It took a while for the server to come to our table. It was like we were being avoided. We had to flag someone to take our order. The food came out quickly after we ordered. The server didn't come over to check on us until we were almost done eating. Overall the food was good.“
