We get the food and it was too spicy for my girl, owner Jake seen she stopped eating and had our server Michelle bring out an extra entree on the house for her. Jake came over afterward and talked to us for awhile, even ended up throwing an extra beer on the house in for my girl’s father. “During a recent trip to Los Angeles, a seafood craving led us to Star Crab, located along W Centinela Avenue in a low-key neighborhood setting that’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it.

From the outside, it has that casual strip mall feel that might make you pause, especially for seafood. We had the same initial hesitation. Once inside, though, the energy told a different story. A steady flow of locals coming and going gave it a sense of familiarity and quiet confidence.

We ordered the seafood boil, and it delivered on flavor. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and satisfying. The staff created a welcoming environment and kept things moving smoothly without ever feeling rushed.

Portion size could be more generous for the price, which is something to keep in mind. Still, the quality of the food and the overall experience made it a worthwhile stop.

We visited on a Sunday in the late afternoon, just before 6 PM, and the timing worked well, active enough to feel vibrant, yet comfortable enough to enjoy the meal without a wait.

“I recently stumbled upon your establishment and must say, the name perfectly captures how I felt after trying your food. I ordered fried wings, rice, and vegetables, and each dish was exceptional.

The wings were piping hot, and the aroma that wafted from the box was simply incredible. The blend of spices and flavors was perfect, and I was truly blown away.

We found this place from Instagram and I had it saved as a “Want to Go” but I have just moved it to my favorites. We ordered the 4LB boil and got shrimp, scallops, snow crabs, sausage, corn and broccoli. This place was flavorful without being overly salty. My only knock is that it took a while to find a parking space. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a seafood boil. You will not waste your money here.“

“Cajun outdoor shack with fried seafood options, gumbo, and even alligator. There’s a small parking lot behind the building. Credit cards are accepted. Outdoor dining only (no indoor options) and there’s delivery and takeout available. As other reviews and the sign on their window notes,you won’t get the food quickly since it’s slow food and that’s part of the whole experience. You scan a QR code to get the menu. I opted for a fried catfish and five shrimp plate which came with an option of two small sides. I got the red beans and rice as well as fries. The red beans and rice were hot and comforting; the fries are crinkle cut. The plate came with a side of tartar sauce and there are hot sauces and ketchup available at each table. They have a paper towel roll and hand sanitizer at each table as well. The fish isn’t as seasoned as I would’ve expected but the shrimp was super fresh and tasty. I had leftovers and they still kept relatively well the next day.“

“Everytime I want some fish, I have to come here, the fish is fresh SEASONED and HOT. The chicken is good to but the FISH. I always enjoy, ordering here. The only thing I dont like is the Lady the urinated in the place and sits outside every single day asking for money. The fish its a bit of a wait but I prefer to wait to have fresh cooked fished. And out of left field, the garlic bread was very tasty. I come here often and like it a lot-might be the best hidden secret in the area. If you do not like spice, order the no spice option and it is very mild. The mild is already more spicy than some people would like. Their veggies are always fresh and cooked well. Meats are higher quality. You wont be disappointed with your order from here.“
