“The Ribeye cap M9 here is so beautifully marbled but I think I loooved the Prime short rib even more. It was flavored so perfectly and literally melts in your mouth. And have you ever had grilled eel at Japanese BBQ before?? It was definitely my first time because I think I got the order of operations wrong in terms of building my perilla leaf-eel-seaweed wrap, but hey, it tastes so delicious all the same, right? We also got the Wagyu sukiyaki to share and the Wagyu bibimbap that’s mixed tableside. Thanks for reading! ^-^“

“My husband and I are creatures of habit but we decided to try this ramen spot out for the first time. The servers were super friendly and fast. The chicken karaage and ramen came out hot! They also gave us complimentary edamame, which is cool. I'm definitely going to tell our friends and family about this little spot. Plus, the cat robot who runs the food was entertaining to watch.“

“Sushi Kisen continues to punch well above its weight and it is 1/3 the price for the same quality as some of the now outrageously expensive sushi places in LA.For about $120, our omakase today included about 10 courses and 2 additional pieces we selected at the end. The quality of the nigiri is self-evident, particularly with the chutoro and the Nemuro uni. Another particular favorite was shiro-ebi. The chef confirmed that it is from Toyama. It should be mentioned that some pieces are ever so slightly on the saltier side (I confirmed that they do season with a drop of salt on some pieces), which I ended up liking but it might be a surprise to some. Extra points for the shari, which was flavorful on its own without taking away from the fish. I also highly recommend asking the chef if they have any seasonal items. We were very pleasantly surprised by our tsuika orders. When I do not have the time to enjoy an omakase at the bar, I would recommend their chirashi bowls.“

“Made a reservation online and got there 10 min before we started. You’ll be waiting outside till they call your name/party. You’ll then be guided to your seats.Water/tea is served to you and you’ll be waiting about 15 min for the experience to begin.I wasn’t sure how many courses as it was my birthday gift. Since it was my birthday, I did get a complimentary cheesecake in the very end with a birthday song.Food: it was a very nice experience. They say what you’re eating before serving it to you. Uni, crab, wagyu, tuna, fruits, theyll explain and show you where it’s from! It’s very interesting to know where my food is coming from. They were all delicious! 10/10 for all!Chefs: they were very nice and we interacted by talking a bit about personal life as well as the food that were being served to us.Price: it’s high but I’d recommend to try once. 2 people = $600+ (including tip)Parking: very easy! It’s in a plaza so you’ll be fine!“

“Robots are distracting and loud at times and I prefer personal service. Food innovative and delicious. New/trainee waitress hesitant and seemed overwhelmed which allowed for more conversation. Things amiss are easily fixable: owner & staff stepped in, generously compensated and cared for us. The food is well worth it and we will return again & again.“

“Wow! What a wonderful experience! We had an early dinner on a Thursday evening to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It was busy, but we were sat almost right away. The ambiance of the restaurant is the first thing that hit me. It was very dark, but in comforting way. It is a very small place. The server walked us through their choices and we were immediately served. We chose their silver level. The bone marrow and toast was crazy delicious. It was full of umami flavor. It was the perfect way to start off. We ordered the spicy miso and the house broth. Both were great. The spicy miso wasn't too spicy at the beginning, but rather rich and flavorful. It did build on the spice level when it became a bit more concentrated. The house was mild and light. These soups were refilled at appropriate times as well. The meats that were served with this were melt in your mouth amazing and only took a second to cook. The veggie platter that accompanied it was a nice assortment. They also had a serve your self rice/ condiment bar. It was very clean and had a great assortment of sauces. My favorite was mixing the sesame with a bit of soy sauce and spicy chilies. It also included eggs, rice and minced beef. We had three rounds of the amazing meat and finished up the veggies. We finished our meal with the green tea ice cream at the self serve station. It is a bit pricy, but worth every penny in my opinion. I can't wait to come back.Parking: Parking in the lot right in front of the restaurant was available for an early dinner on a Thursday. They also have parking around the back of the building as well.“

“Awesome place to get some great tasting ramen! The restaurant was nicely decorated, the staff extremely friendly and of course, the food tasted great. We had the veggie king ramen with an egg add on and spice level 3. Very good. I would definitely add a higher spice next time I go. They have a cool custom menu that you fill out while waiting in line to stream line the process. Big fan of the organization! Highly recommend.“

“The most identical same taste from Osaka, Japan. I still remember the taste of the creamy & nutty Pork Cutlet Curry. It remember me on that trip. The trip is 14 days. Everyday in dinner I order this food. I just craving it. Wonderful!!! You all should try it. But missing one portion? The Japanese Pickled Ginger. Hope the owner can make this. I mark this restaurant as the most so far the best Pork Cutlet Curry I were ever tasted.“

“After success with the jajiang noodles, I had to try the stall right next door. Inside the fantastic Hmart market, is Kazu Mori. I’d say Katsu is there specialty with pork and chicken. I had the pork tonkatsu with curry. Huge portions and so good. I actually thought I was a bit pricey bit after I saw the quality and portions, I reconsider. Also, not a Bricks and mortar saves a bit.I think the key is to get a bunch of people and order two or three items from each stall. The choice are fantastic.“

“Stopped by for lunch on a weekday and was seated right away. The waitress was so sweet and even though she was alone, always had a smile and gave amazing service. Got the classic noodle (spicy), which also comes with rice at the end to mix the rest of the sauce. The noodles are so bouncy, chewy, and soaked up the amazing flavor of the sauce. It also had a good kick to it since I got it spicy. So happy to have found an amazing spot to eat near home!“

“Went here for the first time today. Was a late lunch and we were the only customers there. My wife ordered the Chnpon ramen I had the fried chicken ramen. We were served promptly by the efficient server. Both our dishes were flavorful and generous portions. Hard to understand the few reviewers who felt the food was bland. My wife has visited Japan and felt this was an authentic Japanese Raman . This is our go to ramen place. Highly recommended!“

“Popped in here because the Bento photos looked so appealing. They did not disappoint. We enjoyed a ton of tasty food (could easily have fed two a normal meal) served by the friendliest staff! The tayaki were a little gummy in the center but maybe that's intentional? We will definitely stop by again when we are in the area! Limited seating but we easily got a spot for an early dinner.“

“Parking can be a challenge depending on what time of the day. The menu does have some images to help illustrate the food. Staff is friendly, service is quick, we stopped by during lunch time. When we arrived the place was empty, when we left it was packed. The food portion is just right, does not put you into the food coma afterwards. They do have high chairs, so definitely kid friendly. Their kindness shows in their delicious food. They have lunch specials every day for $9.99. My family and I will be trying their lunch specials next time! Also, if you're looking for somewhere that caters for big parties, they offer catering too! If you decide to come to Suki Suki, it's kind of hidden away and next door to Little Skewer. “As many times as I've eaten here and for take outs, it has been consistent with the freshness, flavor, and service. I had foods for take out for my mum's birthday. She doesn't like to leave for many places so I'm bringing the food to her. I got her the ichima roll, rainbow roll, and the yellowtail delight. And for myself I got the agedashi tofu, baked green mussels and the baked salmon roll. Everything was packed very well and it was still warm when I got home. Everything was delicious!! I would highly recommend their food. It's fresh and delicious!! Service was excellent. They got it all right!!“

“Went for lunch Wednesday. Order a C9 which is sukiyaki and tempura combination. Not many Japanese restaurants offer sukiyaki and this place is one of the best around. “The udon was so so yummy. Service was fast. Inside is small but cozy. The noodles were so good and the flavor were so different. I would be careful with the clams because I bit into a piece of sand that was inside of it and cracked my tooth LOL. Hopefully they can clean their clams better next time but that does come with clams sometimes wherever you go!“

“Huge portions I got the Fried Noodles and Rice combo (not on the menu, small extra charge) and the steak and vegetables. It came in two boxes - one for the noodles and rice and the other just stuffed full of steak and vegetables (cabbage, zucchini) Only 14 dollars I think - with a can of soda The service is great - just one guy, and he's super friendly. Makes the food, gives it to you. I think he's making a lot of stuff to order so that's good - you can hear him chopping stuff fresh. Ambience is non-existent - but you don't care cause you're there for good food for a good price. All in all, a great, fast, inexpensive meal. Just so you know - it's just one guy taking orders and making it, so be nice and be patient. It didn't take very long“

“Hayatobi is my secret weapon. It's my raw fish Japanese izakaya that's my go-to when I have a craving. My favorite is the takowasa (marinated raw octopus in fresh ginger, fresh raw wasabi with salmon eggs); it goes so well with the house hot sake. I also can't pass up the karabiki pork sausage, which is roasted on a grill over hot coals until the casing blisters up; think of tasty miniature kielbasa but much better. I love it with their hot Asian mustard. Their rolls are very fresh and clean - like their negitoro (raw chopped tuna with scallions in a sushi rice roll with nori). Other stuff I've had on the menu include any number of specials like the "fatty" platter of sushi that includes the belly of many fishes (yellowtail, tuna, salmon). The crispy rice with spicy tuna topped with jalepeno, while really popular everywhere is best here. There is lot parking but it's best to come when they open or rather earlier in the evening. The servers are very attentive and are quick to refill your draft Sapporo or hot sake. They also have a great selection of cold sakes and they rate them according to sweetness and minerality so you can properly pair them with whatever you decide to order. This place is great! Just remember that they are closed on Tuesdays.“

“Food was amazing, it was quiet and mostly empty when I went. There was a moment nearing the end of my meal when a Karen came in and sat herself, and started to hassle the server over mistranslation of words (from Japanese to English) so she yelled at them and stormed out. Either way, dinner and a show. And a complimentary miso soup would go back again for sure. Service 10/10“

“For the price, the sushi, sashimi, hand rolls and specialty rolls are very good. I wasn't impressed with the Chinese dishes. Many are mainland Chinese style where bones and bone fragments are normal in these dishes, making these hard to eat for someone not used to bite carefully and then spitting out bones in front of guests, etc. It may be acceptable in China and in front of Chinese guests.Parking: May have to park further away during busy meal times. I think it's owned by the same people running the Red 99 Grill bistro on the same block that also draws many customers. Shiki buffet also draws customers and parking close to the restaurant may be difficult during meal times.“

“Tucked in Downtown Monrovia, this small restaurant has really fresh sushi! We visited on a recent Saturday for lunch. Inside has maybe 3-4 seats at the sushi bar, 3 small tables, and a couple tables outdoors were its pet friendly. I got the salmon don and it was fresh and delicious. It comes with miso soup and the best tasting salad dressing I've ever had. We also shared the lime roll, scallops sushi, ono sushi, albacore sushi and miso cod. The roll was only okay, and I definitely preferred the sushi. The miso cod was tender and soft, I felt very healthy eating all the delicious fish. Our waiter was super friendly and nice, it made for a great lunch experience!“

“Went back this week and glad I did. Ordered a bento box, lots of tasty food and definitely worth the money. There was enough teriyaki for two meals. I'm accustomed to a different cut of meat for beef teriyaki so was surprised but enjoyed the flavor. LOVED the super crunchy not greasy tempura! I ordered to go so didn't each for about 15 mins. Tempura was crunchy to the last bite of the last piece! Also had the spicy salmon sushi, which I found quite good. I'll definitely go back and try other menu items. Staff was welcoming and kind. The sushi chef greeted each person as they arrived and thanked each when they left. Great service!“

“YUM. Delicious, great quality sushi, amazing service. High prices. T.T rip my credit. The omakase is freaking $150+. In Walnut. The restaurant is located in a low key plaza off the 60 fwy. There is a small parking lot, but it is uneven. Be careful with friends on wheels. The interior is dim. There is a sushi bar, but there are also tables that can accommodate larger parties.Lunch is a good time to go because it's not nearly as crowded as dinner time and the price is lower. They do charge extra for take out. I have to say I was really satisfied with the quality of the sashimi. I also love hamachi kama, so I will have to try that next time!“

“Ordered through Door Dash and ordered the Bento Box of Spicy Pork: The box comes with a good amount of tempura, mainly vegetables (squash and sweet potato) and one shrimp. The tail is hiding in there so I spit it out. lol. The batter is like a pancake mix and it was sweet to me. I thought it was delicious. The dipping sauce for the tempura was light and seemed lemony. The tomato salad with thousand island dressing was fresh and basic. The 4 California rolls were also fresh and the cucumber was crunchy good. Spicy pork was flavorful and not spicy at all. Bed of rice is underneath the meat. The beef rib plate was flavorful! But the meat was not too tender where it "melts" in your mouth. It was like a medium type of tough. But it was an enjoyable chew lol! I would order this again for sure. Try this place out!“
