2022: First time here. Just had the most delicious watermelon smoothie! The little bits of mint blended into it make it so delectable... wish I had a gallon of this stuff! There is some pineapple sherbet in there too apparently but not overpowering. Just slushy watermelon mint refreshingness. What a fantastic drink! (Need rum 🙂)”

If you have not been to Handel’s you really should try it.

We went with a large party and we were served quickly.

Everyone enjoyed their ice cream and we were surprised by the reasonable prices for the quantity and quality of the ice cream.

The facility was clean and the seating comfortable.

There is seating at all locations, some with more than others.

Parking is available, but can get busy during peak hours.

“Constellation is a jewel in both La Canada and Silver Lake. It’s one of a handful of really good coffee shops in LA. Their espresso is smooth but flavorful, perfect for that early AM wake up call. “We are BBQ folks. We smoke our own and have traveled the country trying different spots. There is so much that goes into BBQ. For those of us who truly love it; it's an art form and science of cuts, color, bark, brine -- the whole deal. We've experienced much of the local (Southern California) flavor and have found a few spots that excel. We moved up to Pasadena recently and were Yelping to see if there was a BBQ spot up here that we could try. When we came upon Mission I was skeptical. It didn't make sense that a BBQ spot would do catering and weekend farmer's market stuff. The only way to see if the reviews were legit was to give it a shot. We found the location at the farmer's market tucked away and because we were late in the day, had to pick from the meats that were left. Ribs, brisket, mac & cheese -- and the two sauces they stocked (mild & spicy). Our order was bundled and we brought it home and launched into the meal. Brisket -- soft, moist, flavorful. Brisket is not easy to cook. It can get dry and -- sometimes greasy from the fat. This was none of that. It was excellent -- some of the best ever. 5/5!!! Ribs -- very good. Solid. My personal perfect-preference is ribs that are just a touch less moist -- but we are talking the difference between 98/100 or 94/100. They were solid. Great flavor. Mac & Cheese. Excellent. Texture, color, flavor, taste -- all outstanding. 5/5!!! Sauce. We had a cup of each of their offerings: spicy and mild. Each had a lovely smokey flavor. The spicy had a nice kick without blowing the back out of your throat. Again -- this is a little nitpicky, but we find the perfect sauce to be a touch less sticky. We've had great first meals and horrible second meals at certain spots and horrible first meals and great second meals. We like to try the food several times before writing reviews so we ordered again for another experience. This time we added baked beans, burnt ends, and smoked chicken to the meal. Second time was exactly as great as the first time. Everything was solid, solid, solid. Now -- the thing that gives Mission six-stars is the folks behind the food. These people are dedicated to making a contribution to the world through food as few are. They are kind, generous, dedicated -- truly amazing!!!! Judith and her family are the kind of folks I want to invite over to have the food we just bought from them!!! Wonderful, wonderful people!! Thank you so much Mission!!!! We are dedicated fans and followers for as long as you make food!!!”

Another absolute must-try is the Monaco (Passion Fruit Pistachio cake); the tangy passion fruit flavor is so refreshing and pairs perfectly with the pistachio. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients here. It’s the perfect spot for a coffee and a high-end treat!”

“I 100% recommend this place. The drinks are very good. I got the peaches and cream smoothie with boba and my wife got the matcha with banana foam. We decided to also try out the taiyaki with custard and the tornado potato. Overall amazing experience. Definitely coming back.”

Prices were very moderate.
Place had character.
My burrito was lacking salt big time but quality was good.

“It was a fund raiser for my granddaughters' school. The place was full of moms and dads, friends, neighbors, softball members, younger siblings and grandparents. The pizza and salad were Delicious and as soon as the kids ate they played the arcade games and fed quarters into the toy machines to see what prizes they would get. It's well organized and has a quick turnaround -Order, Pay, Eat, Play. A fun place to get a great pizza.”

“Sat in the bar area for Happy Hour. Great drink prices and generous wine pours. Two pulled pork sliders @ $10 was excellent, as were the garlic fries. Also ordered the wings, which were less of a bargain and did not include celery or carrots. Service was prompt and friendly. Volume was loud, and not helped by music from speakers and TV volume turned up over the bar.”

“I used to come here about once a month for the fine food and fancy atmosphere. I used to love the steaks and salads and the several rooms with tables. It was a well known place all my life living up here in the foothills. But alas, good things never last. I went to eat a nice meal with my elderly mom and I ordered my usual even though they had changed the rules so you have to order each thing separately I didn't care about that nor the higher prices. I waa just looking forward to a decent streak and veggies. Well when my steak was brought to the table with the vegetables.I noticed that not only was the steak full of so much fat.I could hardly get any meat but the vegetables were cold and after maybe five ten minutes, the waiter came back and I told him, please take this back to the chef and show him the amount of fat that is on this steak.I hardly got any meat at all.And the vegetables were cold when I got them. He came back from the chef and said, well, he's gonna comp.The vegetables, but you're gonna have to pay for your steak. I was furious that they would serve a poor quality of steak and charge a price as if were high quality. I literally had to fight the gristle to get a few measly pieces of steak. It wasn't the money. I was angry that the quality of the meat is was so bad at one of my regular steak places. It made me so mad I stopped going there completely. I wish it were how it was before and am still agonizing over it. Just wanted to vent as the owner hopefully will read this and I beseech him to reach out and prove to me things have turned around. I miss the food and the nice rich atmosphere. If not I guess I will continue my trips to fogo de chat or the Smokehouse or Damon's.”

“The Habit continues to be a bizarre one. I love the food, but they still never put BBQ sauce on the chicken sandwich for my mom (which annoys her).

I bit into a piece of metal one time when eating a chicken sandwich. Thankfully they were very forgiving and gracious when I mentioned my concern to them.”
