“I am from out of town i am here visiting my sister in the hospital. I was looking for a good teryaki plate for my wife and I. I read reviews and I decided to try hi bbq. The customer service was great,the price was good and the food was excellent. The ginger dressing was tangy and really good for the salad. The chicken and steak was flavorful and the macaroni salad was really good. Until my sister comes home this will be the place we will go to. If you are looking for really good food at a good price I highly recommend hi bbq. Also the staff was really nice and the place is very comfortable.“

“Brandon was our server and he was so nice, so funny, and explained everything to us loved it!! The wall decor is awesome, they even had robots serving your side dishes! The Diamond Tier was awesome with grade A5 the dry aged wagyu was melt in your mouth good! Just as good as what we had in Japan. Brandon cooked them up for us and we enjoyed talking with him. Celebrating my husband's birthday they sing and have some ice creamsicles ube or honeydew flavors. They do have drink stations, some extra food stations, a dessert station all of which you can walk around to grab yourself. The Otoro thick cut and black pepper beef cubes were our other favorites. Can't wait to go back!“

“I recently tried Chubby Skewers and overall had a pretty good experience. They have a great selection of meats, and at $1.20 per skewer, it’s easy to try a variety without spending too much.

That said, some of the meats were a bit on the tougher side, which took away from the experience a little. But not everything was a miss, the grilled oysters and scallops were definitely highlights and tasted really good.

I also liked that you can order from the menu if you want something more than skewers. Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re looking for variety at a reasonable price, with a few standout items worth coming back for.“

“Unfortunately, I can never try this place because I don’t live locally and I always try to call them to find out even if there’s any parking because when I go on Google Earth, it’s impossible to see the restaurant and not sure where to park also, I want to make sure that they’re open because sometimes businesses say they are and then they are closed for whatever reason I’m trying to call them day after day, but there are no phone numbers. It’s not a very smart business move because I feel like they are probably losing many business like people like myself. I wanna try it.“

For my birthday, my wife catered from Evan's, and they nailed it. One of the standout items was the smoked chicken, and let me tell you — the tray of chicken thighs they delivered looked like something straight out of a championship turn-in box.

Each thigh had a beautifully rendered, bite-through skin — a true pitmaster's touch — and the meat was perfectly juicy, coming clean off the bone without falling apart. Flavor? On point. Smoke? Clean and balanced. It was BBQ chicken perfection.

I would add a picture but that tray of chicken got hit like a trash can at midnight by a family of raccoons!“

I got the small bowl. Just the teriyaki chicken and rice. They give you a lot of chicken and big pieces too. They also have extra teriyaki sauce and hot sauce. Ohh and they have free fountain drinks between 2-4 pm. My order was to go. Love this spot.“

“Came by with my son last minute they were almost sold out (says a lot about how amazing there food is) so we grabbed what they had left bbq beef ribs mac and cheese and smoked beans….you guys the food was beyond AMAZING i love bbq but this particular spot 10/10 my son is a picky eater i got him his own plate he devoured the ribs and mac and cheese. I highly highly recommend do not listen to the few who gave negative reviews because you will definitely miss out. The service was amazing very nice and patient with us. “Came here for dinner time during Christmas week with my family. We were a group of 10 and we came right at peak dinner time, which honestly sounds like a terrible idea but thankfully they were able to sit us within 40 minutes. We were sat at two tables and had a burner each. The service was great, especially with how busy they were that night. The KBBQ was super yummy and I especially loved the steamed egg, I ordered two total. The house salad was so so good- I wish someone would tell me the recipe (pls) because I ate the whole bowl. The meat came out at a decent time and I enjoyed sides. They also offered buldak ramen, which my younger cousins enjoyed- so I’m sure other parents or family members may wonder what else kids may enjoy here. I will definitely be back!“

“We were recently passing through Pasadena and boy, did Yelp come through for us when picking a place to eat! Craft by Smoke & Fire in Old Town Pasadena ended up being the perfect choice. It was a beautiful evening and we opted to sit outside. We were lucky enough to have Stephanie as our server…and also lucky to be there during happy hour – you gotta love a 2 for 1 drink special! It was hard to choose between all the craft cocktails, but we ended up ordering Lulu Lemons which were excellent! I play mixologist when entertaining at home, and when I expressed interest in recreating this drink for our friends, Stephanie was kind enough to share the recipe! The menu is full of yummy Texas-style BBQ options made from locally sourced meat, and it was hard to choose. Luckily I hadn't had dinner yet so I stopped and got a $20 plate. It was stacked with meat. It had tri-tip, chicken, and ribs. Smoked to perfection. The plate included a side of Mac and Beans. The potato noodles is very tasty. I will say the best one in LA. If you want to add more protein to the soup that’s good. It is also good for the original recipe. I absolutely love the numbing, peppery flavor of Sichuan pepper in potato noodles.“
