“Loved this place, but removing a star because they took the teriyaki salmon option off the menu. Strange, because everyone loved it and it was often sold out! The raw fish is hit or miss. Bring back the teriyaki!
My roommates and I check doordash every week or so, just to see if they have Salmon Samba.“

“Fresh and delicious! So nice to grab a quick, easy dinner here on a hot night.
Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating regarding my need to avoid sugar. They even let me taste 1 drop to be sure I wouldn't get myself in trouble with a blood sugar spike.“

“Tatsu Sushi is hands down my favorite sushi spot in the Bay Area. My brother and I have been coming here for a while now, and it never disappoints. The quality is always top-notch—fresh fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and well-balanced flavors in every bite. It’s the kind of place where you can taste the care that goes into each roll.
On top of that, the prices are more than fair, especially considering the quality. But what really makes Tatsu stand out are the little extras. The free gyoza and miso soup? That’s just an unbeatable touch. It’s rare to find a place that goes the extra mile like that, and it’s one of the many reasons we keep coming back.
The only downside? Word is getting out. It used to feel like our little secret sushi spot, but now more people are catching on. While I’m happy to see them getting the recognition they deserve, it does mean we might have to wait a little longer for a table. Even so, it’s always worth it. My brother and I will keep coming back for as long as they’re around.“

“I lost count of how many times I’ve come here - they never miss. The menu is familiar but enough unique items to stand out amongst all of the other AYCE sushi OR hotpot restaurants around.. oh and did I mention they offer both.. get this - for the same price ? come visit, you won’t regret it!“

“This place is amazing. Some of the best Japanese food around. Favorite dishes: karage, blue Hawaii, and the caterpillar rolll. I'm definitely interested in trying their vegetable tempura. I kept seeing people order it, and it looks special.“

“We shared a saki roll and an Orinda roll. Both were excellent. The tuna on the saki roll was fresh and flavorful. The Orinda roll had a big serving of crab and shrimp on top. So good. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. We'll be back.“

“First time here and probably last time too. I hella liked how the inside was decorated reminded me of a restaurant in Japan. Kinda disappointed though. I hella love sushi. But the sushi selection was small. Nothing caught my eye. The only thing I did enjoy with my meal was the ikura. The waitress’s don’t even check up on you to see how your doing. We we’re seated all the way in the back. I asked for more water and it never came. And for those 2 reasons I won’t come back.“

“Great food - flavors and freshness, host was funny and extremely kid friendly. My 4yo thanked me for the best chicken rice(ordered a teriyaki chicken shrimp combo) he had. We ordered one wrap, liked it so much that we ordered 2nd one!
It's a casual, small and clean place.“

“I walked in with low expectations only because not that many people were in the restaurant. I was proven wrong quickly. The food was amazing and the service was great. I can't stand it when you get giant sushi rolls. These were small and very fresh. The dudes rolling the sushi were bout the business. Tashiko was a great waitress and she made our 10 year old picky eater feel special and went out of her way to make sure she had a good experience. The salad dressing is amazing , the nigiri and rolls were awesome as was everything else. Great little date spot. Highly recommend.“

“I was looking for sushi, I decided to go here and I was fascinated, excellent service and they have a variety and very fresh. I recommend that you make a reservation. The tables are tight, I think it would not be comfortable for large groups. Obviously I will return ??
* I'm putting up photos of the dishes I tried.
** I forgot to take a photo of the grilled octopus but it is delicious.“

“After reading positive reviews, we decided to try it, and our dining experience was enjoyable overall. The tempura was flavorful, although we felt the batter was slightly thicker than anticipated, overshadowing the vegetable flavors. The sashimi was exceptionally fresh and delightful, particularly the uni and ankimo. While the sashimi omakase was satisfactory, it did not stand out. The service provided by our server was excellent, and there is potential to enhance the overall ambiance for an even more enjoyable dining experience.“

“Look, if you live in Concord, you're going to balk at the thought of eating sushi on Monument...don't...this is easily the best sushi joint in town. From unique rolls to gorgeous sashimi that lets the quality of the fish shine, this place has something for even the most discerning sushi fan. The only down side is the very moderately priced and rediculously good food draws a massive crowd, so be prepared to wait for a table.“

“Love the convenience and quality of their sushi. The setup of this place is odd; people don’t know where to stand and there’s a past of the shop that is totally unused. It would be nice if they redesigned the space and could have more things or allow people to not block others trying to look at and grab food.“

“The ambiance is nice, always clean.
Service is fantastic, they remember you and your orders and what you liked
All the food is always fresh and the oysters are great, no grit and no slime; the price is great on the lower end of most places that offer oysters.
All in all, I love this place and have visited it multiple times, it is a little pricey but if you enjoy sushi, oysters, great beers, sake and wonderful service this is the place to go.“

“Great Japanese & Taiwanese food ?
The portion is satisfying while the price is relatively affordable! They also have free hot green tea and would serve you a cup of miso soup along with your order! (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎)
The waiting might take a little longer than fast food restaurants of course, but you’d know they make your order freshly, and it’s worth it! ?
The vibe in the restaurant is unique and antique. A nice place for people who love hanging out with friends in the special place, or just enjoy yourself ??

“Low key, family-run sushi spot out in the burbs. I usually get sashimi or one of the rolls. Now if you want to throw caution to the wind, get the roll called "I don't know". It's chef's choice, and it depends on the ingredients on hand that day. Sometimes it's great, sometimes less so. Regardless, the portion is always generous, and it's always a surprise.“

“Evidently this is my daughter’s favorite sushi spot and I can’t believe that it was my first time there. Truly delicious food! The Alameda Roll has all of my favorites—salmon, tuna and unagi, plus snow crab! I asked for it spicy and they totally hit the spice mark. Very filling and very reasonably priced. RnR is a neighborhood gem and I’m very surprised that I hadn’t bothered to eat there before. It appears as a hole in the wall restaurant however, it totally delivers. Efficient service, happy staff, really good vibes. A true neighborhood keeper.
Cheers!“

“In all my travels, I look for what I call "happy food." Happy food for me is healthy, nutritious, tasty, nicely prepared, and served by smiling people in a clean environment. Oori exceeded all my happy food requirements and then took me for a ride through food blissfulness worth each bite. I had chicken teriyaki, grilled salmon, and spicy tuna triangles. On the side, I complimented it with miso soup and ginger. Each flavor was distinct and made my taste buds ooh, ahh, and wow for more. I'll be back here for more without question. I felt like I was dining at a 5-star restaurant and found the food reasonably priced.“

“We're always greeted with a combination of welcome back and or nice to see you again. The service is as good as the food. The fish is as fresh as if it was caught only hours before. We've been working our way through those fantastic rolls. Shelby and The Titanic are amazing. Anyway, please patronize our local businesses. So many small businesses didn't make it through the Pandemic and its so sad to see the stores closed up. Go enjoy wonderful food and equally good service from some very talented people.“
“The sushi is really good, all ingredients taste high quality and fresh. The plate situation is odd though, as they are stored on top of the wooden separator between every table, so they are sometimes a bit dusty. Other than that the restaurant is amazing, with really nice staff.
Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian roll options, which my friend really appreciated“

“SO GOOD!!! Everything was of very high quality—I got the deluxe red tonkotsu ramen and every part of it was great. It was actually pretty spicy, good noodles and broth, and the toppings were delicious (especially the braised pork wow!!) I also really enjoyed the jasmine green milk tea I got. This place is a bit pricey, yes, but I promise you it’s worth it!“
“Even though I did not order anything from Koharu Japanese Cafe, this place of business has four restaurants combined in one location. The other three are Wok Chi (Chinese), Yue Club (dim sum) and Sachi (sushi). My visit there was for a YEE (Yelp Elite Event). The business was offering a complimentary food sampler. I chose the Wok Chi and paid extra for the Yue Club. The food was excellent. The dim sum was perfect with a cup of hot tea on a rainy day (January 27, 2021). I recommend the dim sum (har gow, siu mai, xlb dumplings, etc.)Service was quick and employees were pleasant and helpful. There will be a return visits in the near future for the beef chow fun and spicy eggplant.“

“Good spot on Grand. Mijori has been putting out solid bentos and sushi/maki rolls for years. The beef teriyaki and gyoza lunch set has been a lunch staple in this family as well as the karai tuna roll. Lunch can get extremely busy at peak times but you can get in and out quickly. The staff works hard and has been together for awhile now. Parking around Grand/Lakeshore can be tight but eventually something pops.“

“Spacious sitting area. Great art work. The chicken Katsu was lightly breaded and very tender inside. Tempura was tasty. Lots of options for combos. Ramen was tasty but wish the soup a little hotter temperature. The miso soup was also not hot and only lukewarm. Best thing was the cream donuts as desserts on the house. It was so good that I bought several more bigger size donuts to go. The strawberry flavor ones were excellent.“
