“This is the archetypical old hamburger place - the kind you see in films set in the '50s - with the requisite burgers, hot dogs, soft serve cones, and fries, all pretty good. They definitely beat McDonald's, because everything's made on the spot and the prices are pretty throwback too - this, the original M&G's, takes credit cards. They've got a few modern takes of fast food on the menu too. If you're thinking of a burger in downtown Fairfax, this is the place. There's another branch of M& G's on magnolia avenue Larkspur that's cash only, and just as good.“

“Mo’s Grill is a must try in San Francisco. I came for the Patty melt, but I hear their breakfast is bomb as well. The Patty melt was spectacular, I like the options for sides, I chose the fries, which were nice and crispy. I always enjoy a fresh OJ so that was a nice touch. The sourdough on the bread was just right, and I was impressed that the Patty didn’t leave the bread soggy. They have been around since 1988 for a reason. This place sure holds the heart of San Francisco.“

The meat was just right, sizzling, crispy and somehow also juicy, and the generous grilled onions, melted American cheese, pickles, etc toppings tied the whole thing together. “If I had to compare their burgers to something, it’d be a certain shack with shakes. Pricing is on par, considering that Tasty’s patties are larger than said shack, and this is a local place that doesn’t have the benefit of scale.

The Royal burger is fire. Literally melts in your mouth. Cooked perfectly without a hint of dryness. I wouldn’t expect super duper to exercise as much quality control with twice the staffing. The beef tallow fries needed a hint more salt, but you can control that yourself. Otherwise, the fries were hella good.

When I went on a Sunday afternoon, this Labor Day weekend, it looked like they had three people running the show. But they were churning out orders, and mine was perfectly made. They just opened in August, so temper your expectations and wipe down your own table. God forbid they can’t clean every table after three tourist families of five roll through 🙄. Saw a lot of people asking for accommodations and it sounded like they did their best to fulfill.

Downtown Sausalito on a holiday weekend is basically a pressure cooker for any restaurant, and they handled it expertly given their resources. Let them cook!“

“A great burger. From my first year in the bay area there was something special about Nation's Giant Burgers, scattered around the East Bay. A juicy patty, cheese, with the fixings a nice clump of lettuce, onions and tomato, thick slab of cheese and pickles. Great thick fries, and pies.. seriously the best pie I ever had was at a Nation's. Their Strawberry Tart only offered when in season, is just large strawberries, a tasty almost shortbread crust and whipped cream. The one I had in 2001, days after 9/11, the strawberries were bursting with juice, almost like a jam, the skin barely holding, and. not too sweet, not too tart... In Plant City, Florida they have amazing strawberries.. previously the best I had ever tasted, but these, from a California Farm is what they said, are always going to be the best. �Other than their Strawberry Tart, I like their Banana Split, Banana Cream, Chocolate Cream, Pecan, Blueberry... well.. all of them. Never a bad choice. How I like my burger. Cheese, no dressing, grilled onions, light lettuce. Then I get hash browns and ham on the side (sometimes one egg also) and add them to the burger. Anyway. yes. 👍 more, again.“

“I’ve been coming to this location since the day they opened in our neighborhood. They offer a great variety of food, from wraps and burgers to salads and other menu items, and I’ve tried most of them over the years. The food is consistently very good, which is probably why they’ve become so popular and busy every day, especially on Fridays.

Unfortunately, it seems like order management has become an issue as their popularity has grown. I placed two orders over the last two weeks through DoorDash. The app estimated a 10-minute wait, and since the restaurant is only about four minutes from my house, I walked over to pick it up. However, both times I ended up waiting 40–45 minutes for my food.

Today was especially frustrating. Even though DoorDash said the order would be ready in 10 minutes, it actually took 40 minutes, causing me to miss the first part of my work meeting. While I was waiting, I noticed people who arrived after me and ordered at the kiosk received their food before I did, even though I had placed my order through the app 40 minutes earlier.

This was really disappointing and unexpected. I hope the restaurant recognizes this issue and improves the way they handle online and pickup orders moving forward.“

“I'm old. I've been eating at M&Gs since the late fifties. Back in the day I savored a barbecue beef sandwich. That's no longer on the menu, my new go-to is the chili burger.
I'm so happy munching the burger sipping a lemonade marvelling at all the traffic and observing the bikers across the street drinking beer next to their mountain bikes that could pay three months of my rent. Blimey!“

“I’ve been coming to Izzy’s for 35 years. This was the first time I’ve been back since the remodel 6 months ago. As usual the steaks and sides were fabulous. However, the four of us ordered several glasses of wine and the “pours” were pathetic! I don’t mind paying top dollar for a glass of wine but I don’t appreciate a 1/4 glass of wine that was barely two sips! Don’t try to pay off your remodel expenses by cheap skating your wine pours! The place just had a huge crowd walk in before me, of at least 20 people. My husband and I split the seasonal salad (greens, feta, sweet potato, avocado, tangerine, radish, and pumpkin seeds with avocado lime dressing) The veggies were fresh and perky and I loved the combination of flavors. I got the chalet burger which featured a perfectly cooked, thick beef patty, toasted and floofy gluten-free bun, arugula, mushrooms, swiss cheese, tomato, and I added housemade pickles. “A hidden gem in plain sight... Step back into a latin themed space, you could be in Cuba, Mexico or Guatemala. Great menu with American classics for breakfast and lunch and a whole Guatemalan menu to complement. You cannot go wrong, be adventurous and try a Guatemalan dish, you won't be disappointed! Attentive but low key service, be patient and enjoy your stay. Huevos rancheros are delicious, Mexican or Guatemalan style.“
