“This is the archetypical old hamburger place - the kind you see in films set in the '50s - with the requisite burgers, hot dogs, soft serve cones, and fries, all pretty good. They definitely beat McDonald's, because everything's made on the spot and the prices are pretty throwback too - this, the original M&G's, takes credit cards. They've got a few modern takes of fast food on the menu too. If you're thinking of a burger in downtown Fairfax, this is the place. There's another branch of M& G's on magnolia avenue Larkspur that's cash only, and just as good.“

“Came on a Wednesday and got an enormous delicious beef brisket plate for $22. Probably the best deal I’ve seen in North Beach. The hamburgers look pretty awesome too although I have not tried one yet. My friend got a chicken pesto sandwich which was less exceptionable but not bad.

Definitely worth coming back!

One note: sitting at the back is pretty loud, sounds like there’s a club or something on the other side of the wall so it was hard to hear my friend talking, but that’s probably not an an issue if you come earlier or don’t sit in the very back.“

“Stopped in just to grab lunch while visiting the area. Had the Hawaiian burger, a single cheese burger, fries, and coke. We ate inside and watched the people line up for food the entire time we ate lunch. Great small place with fresh food and welcoming staff.
The inside has four two tops for seating, but the park across the street is available with tables if needed. It's a cozy place.“

“A great burger. From my first year in the bay area there was something special about Nation's Giant Burgers, scattered around the East Bay. A juicy patty, cheese, with the fixings a nice clump of lettuce, onions and tomato, thick slab of cheese and pickles. Great thick fries, and pies.. seriously the best pie I ever had was at a Nation's. Their Strawberry Tart only offered when in season, is just large strawberries, a tasty almost shortbread crust and whipped cream. The one I had in 2001, days after 9/11, the strawberries were bursting with juice, almost like a jam, the skin barely holding, and. not too sweet, not too tart... In Plant City, Florida they have amazing strawberries.. previously the best I had ever tasted, but these, from a California Farm is what they said, are always going to be the best. �Other than their Strawberry Tart, I like their Banana Split, Banana Cream, Chocolate Cream, Pecan, Blueberry... well.. all of them. Never a bad choice. How I like my burger. Cheese, no dressing, grilled onions, light lettuce. Then I get hash browns and ham on the side (sometimes one egg also) and add them to the burger. Anyway. yes. 👍 more, again.“

“The food is phenomenal. Everything, from the sauce, the salad, the rice, the chicken, the beef, the burger, was phenomenal. Even though the prices are not cheap, they deserve it. If the tomatoes and salad taste good, that means everything's good, and they care about everything.

After we're done, we would put that whole place out. We don't have to clean; they clean everything for us. What is the service?“

“This was the perfect late-night stop during my first trip to San Francisco! The food was fresh and delicious, but what really stood out was the incredible service. One employee was taking orders, running the register, and making burgers all at the same time—and somehow still managed to be friendly and efficient. Huge kudos to him for keeping everything running so smoothly!

The best part? They even had a dog patty, and my pup absolutely loved it. It’s not easy to find places that make both you and your dog feel welcome. I would definitely come back the next time I’m in San Francisco!“

“This was my second visit to this restaurant, i really enjoyed the burgers and the sides they offer. Im gluten free so the gluten free bun was great to have instead of no bun burgers. “DELICIOUS. We tried the Tasty Royal and the All American. Perfection. Clearly great ingredients! We also had the tallow fries with the truffle mustard on the side- highly recommend the sauce. So yummy!! The root beer float was exactly what I wanted with one scoop of ice cream- not too sweet, but such a treat! The music is a vibe, the staff was friendly, and the bathroom was clean. 10/10 would recommend!“

“I'm old. I've been eating at M&Gs since the late fifties. Back in the day I savored a barbecue beef sandwich. That's no longer on the menu, my new go-to is the chili burger.
I'm so happy munching the burger sipping a lemonade marvelling at all the traffic and observing the bikers across the street drinking beer next to their mountain bikes that could pay three months of my rent. Blimey!“

“I’ve been coming to this location since the day they opened in our neighborhood. They offer a great variety of food, from wraps and burgers to salads and other menu items, and I’ve tried most of them over the years. The food is consistently very good, which is probably why they’ve become so popular and busy every day, especially on Fridays.

Unfortunately, it seems like order management has become an issue as their popularity has grown. I placed two orders over the last two weeks through DoorDash. The app estimated a 10-minute wait, and since the restaurant is only about four minutes from my house, I walked over to pick it up. However, both times I ended up waiting 40–45 minutes for my food.

Today was especially frustrating. Even though DoorDash said the order would be ready in 10 minutes, it actually took 40 minutes, causing me to miss the first part of my work meeting. While I was waiting, I noticed people who arrived after me and ordered at the kiosk received their food before I did, even though I had placed my order through the app 40 minutes earlier.

This was really disappointing and unexpected. I hope the restaurant recognizes this issue and improves the way they handle online and pickup orders moving forward.“

Located in the Trader Joe’s parking lot @ Montecito PlazaWe had a super low battery on car, hungry & needed to go grocery shopping @ Trader Joe’s. Trifecta.We plugged into a ecar charger in front of the restaurant for Rockstar parking. We arrived hungry & left happy. We ordered a Cheeseburger combo with sweet potato fries. The place just had a huge crowd walk in before me, of at least 20 people. “I’ve been coming to Izzy’s for 35 years. This was the first time I’ve been back since the remodel 6 months ago. As usual the steaks and sides were fabulous. However, the four of us ordered several glasses of wine and the “pours” were pathetic! I don’t mind paying top dollar for a glass of wine but I don’t appreciate a 1/4 glass of wine that was barely two sips! Don’t try to pay off your remodel expenses by cheap skating your wine pours! “A hidden gem in plain sight... Step back into a latin themed space, you could be in Cuba, Mexico or Guatemala. Great menu with American classics for breakfast and lunch and a whole Guatemalan menu to complement. You cannot go wrong, be adventurous and try a Guatemalan dish, you won't be disappointed! Attentive but low key service, be patient and enjoy your stay. Huevos rancheros are delicious, Mexican or Guatemalan style.“
