“THIS IS NOT A REVIEW OF ANY OF THE WINES. THIS IS A NOTE TO MELVILLE ABOUT SHIPPING. (as not to falsely give a negative rating, I'm giving this 4 stars)

I received 4 boxes at my office today for some colleagues. Two of the bottles were broken. This is a message to Melville Winery to use better packing equipment when shipping. The plastic bottle shippers used in their packing is not good enough. In the non-broken bottle boxes, you can still hear the plastic shipper and bottle flopping around in the box when it is handled.

I've received hundreds of bottles over the years for colleagues. They are always in the grey PULP wine shippers and have never broken during shipping.

This is the first time I've received plastic shippers and the results speak for themselves.

“We chose Babcock Winery after reviewing the website. Our visit was everything we hoped for - a relaxing, casual and informative wine tasting experience. Jason, friendly and knowledgeable, poured the wine while offering facts about the origin of the fruit and the wine makers approach for each wine in the flight. The winery has a large indoor area and comfortable seating. We opted for one of the outdoor shady patio spaces where we could sip and enjoy snacks from home. A bonus was the company of the black winery cat. Two favorites were selected for purchase before we left Babcock Winery, the 2023 Radical Pinot Noir and the 2023 Top Cream Chardonnay.”

“Living in a city known for its incredible culinary scene, we always enjoy seeking out unique dining experiences when we’re traveling during breaks from work and college. This spot offered a relaxed, inviting atmosphere with a variety of seating options that made it easy to settle in and enjoy the experience.

The one disappointment was the service. Our server wasn’t particularly warm or engaging. While we came for the food, hospitality is still an important part of the dining experience, especially when you’re paying for it. A little more friendliness and interaction would have made the visit even more enjoyable.

Fortunately, the food and drinks delivered. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well-prepared, and enjoyable, making this a place we’d recommend for its atmosphere and quality menu despite the lackluster service.”

“ME AND MY FAMILY GOT FOOD POISONING. My 2 year old daughter thankfully did not eat the food that night, but myself, my four year old, and my partner were throwing up all night. They denied a refund, horrible business. Gave them a try one other time before this and each time the customer service is half decent. If you try to call they either dont answer or they give horrible service on the phone as well.”

“This is good food at a great value for current prices.

I think we came at a bad time. There were not enough chairs for our large party so we split into booths & waited a long time for everything.

It was after HS grad so I think most their staff may have gone there instead of showing up.

We had a mix of things. The Udon was large n tasty, the sushi was decent but nothing spectacular.

The fried rice was a miss. We also had the combo and our 6 year old picky eater loved everything on it!!”

“co-worker and I went here for lunch and we got to talking with the owner about silly nonsense. We got to the topic of the furlough currently plaguing the area and when I had mentioned we were affected by it, Vilay comp'd our lunch! This not only shows the compassion she has for those affected by the furlough, but the love she has for our community! The food is amazing, everything looks and tastes like it was made at home, I highly recommend this joint, if not for the amazing person that runs it, than for the amazing food that comes out of it!”

“Sweet and Savory foods!
So there 3 locations, identifying as seperate stores.
You can self pick your items, on a tray and thongs. Watch others picked out what they like. Got a conch shell, caramel/maple donut and I was surprised woth the crossiant, it was huge and stuffed. I got a jalapeños and cream one, like a popper but in bread!

Heavily brush up on your spanish if you wosh to ask questions. I understand it, I just suck at speaking it haha. Sorry everyone.”

We had the artichoke, shepherd’s pie, and a BBQ pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato chips. So good! Great service, fun atmosphere, and delightful people. Highly recommend!”

“My kids and I stop by for a snack and ended up getting beef hotdogs and two specialty drinks. We sat down and had a blast chatting and ordering more food to go. This had the Nostalgic feeling of speciality hot dog stand and mobile cafe.”

“I don’t like to say don’t go there because you may order items that are very good even though my last two visits were not tasty. Years ago it was my go to place. I ordered an omelette yesterday and it was rubbery and tasteless. The potatoes had some burn and that likely affected the taste. My brother said the same thing about his patty melt.”

“Best food in Lompoc and Vandenberg Base. I got the sinsing, lumpia, noodles and garlic rice. All around applause. Sinsing was not overly salty or fatty which allowed flavors to come through. The lumpia jad a fantastic crisp and the chili sauce they provide is a fantastic compliment. Not overly sweet, not overly salty and not overly savory. Wonderful balance. Well prepared garlic rice that had nice crispy bits of garlic. I been here for two weeks trying to find a place deserving of my money and calories. This is the best meal I have had during my visit.”

“I’ve been going to the Budget Cafe in Lompoc for over 30 years and it cooks up the same delicious food every time I’ve been there. The waitress is one of the best you could ask for. The ambiance is old school and a welcome site for sore eyes. I hope to be coming here for a long time. BTW the food is cooked fast and the quality of the meals are done to your liking. The eggs and vegetables are farm fresh. You won’t go wrong stopping her for any of the many items on the menu.”

“Their soup is really special here. I especially enjoy their Albondigas. Caldo de Res was authentic as well. Whenever my friends are sick, I bring them takeout albondigas.

My fiancé had a whole fried fish which was nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Their flan has a delicate texture. They often have a birria special which I look forward to trying. The atmosphere is welcoming with traditional decor!

Side-note: my friend has a fish allergy so is weary of seafood restaurants. The staff is accommodating and she’s never had a reaction here indicating that their kitchen is very clean and they don’t cross contaminate their dishes.”
