“A beautiful tasting experience. The building and grounds were stunning. The wisteria was blooming and made a lasting impression that was only out done by the wine. We enjoyed the wines and joined the wine club. I think the estate varietals will become some of our go to wines. Highly recommend the rose’, Pinot Noir and Syrah.”

“Walking into this tasting room is like a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of State St! It's gorgeously decorated and welcoming with a nice back patio. They have lovely live music on Sunday afternoons with good vibes, great owners and fantastically crafted local wines! I had the Albarioño and Rosé, both so full of flavor.”

“Sanford Winery in the Lompoc Valley was the highlight of our Santa Maria wine tasting trip and easily our favorite winery we visited.

The setting alone is stunning—tucked privately between rolling hills with wide-open views and vineyards literally about 10 feet away (easy, AMAZING photo spot!). Sitting outside in comfy chairs by the fireplace while a light rain drizzled felt like something out of a movie. It was peaceful, cozy, and incredibly relaxing.

Both the reds and whites were excellent—a rare win across the board. One of the older gentlemen in our group actually makes his own wine and was genuinely impressed by Sanford’s quality, which says a lot. The wines were reasonably priced, and we happily brought two bottles home—the first and last pours from the tasting menu.

The hospitality really stood out. When some of us got cold, they offered us blankets without hesitation. We never felt rushed; they let us take our time and truly enjoy the experience. Even at the end of the day, when they had run out of charcuterie, they gave us a soft close and let us stay a bit late, which made the visit feel warm and unhurried.

This was our first visit, but it definitely won’t be our last. Between the privacy, the views, the quality wine, and the thoughtful service, Sanford made our vacation feel extra special. We will absolutely be back.”

“We chose Babcock Winery after reviewing the website. Our visit was everything we hoped for - a relaxing, casual and informative wine tasting experience. Jason, friendly and knowledgeable, poured the wine while offering facts about the origin of the fruit and the wine makers approach for each wine in the flight. The winery has a large indoor area and comfortable seating. We opted for one of the outdoor shady patio spaces where we could sip and enjoy snacks from home. A bonus was the company of the black winery cat. Two favorites were selected for purchase before we left Babcock Winery, the 2023 Radical Pinot Noir and the 2023 Top Cream Chardonnay.”

“ME AND MY FAMILY GOT FOOD POISONING. My 2 year old daughter thankfully did not eat the food that night, but myself, my four year old, and my partner were throwing up all night. They denied a refund, horrible business. Gave them a try one other time before this and each time the customer service is half decent. If you try to call they either dont answer or they give horrible service on the phone as well.”

“I had a great experience at Sake! I ordered salmon nigiri, tuna nigiri, edamame, the 911 Roll, and a green tea. While I was a little disappointed in the quality of green tea, the food was absolutely delicious (worth noting I very much enjoy sushi as is, so there is bias). Overall, the customer service was punctual and did not have to ask for things. They are kind people. The place is a step above a “hole in the wall” but nothing luxurious. Great moderately priced Korean BBQ & Sushi joint.”

So there 3 locations, identifying as seperate stores.
You can self pick your items, on a tray and thongs. Watch others picked out what they like. Got a conch shell, caramel/maple donut and I was surprised woth the crossiant, it was huge and stuffed. I got a jalapeños and cream one, like a popper but in bread!

Heavily brush up on your spanish if you wosh to ask questions. I understand it, I just suck at speaking it haha. Sorry everyone.”

“co-worker and I went here for lunch and we got to talking with the owner about silly nonsense. We got to the topic of the furlough currently plaguing the area and when I had mentioned we were affected by it, Vilay comp'd our lunch! This not only shows the compassion she has for those affected by the furlough, but the love she has for our community! The food is amazing, everything looks and tastes like it was made at home, I highly recommend this joint, if not for the amazing person that runs it, than for the amazing food that comes out of it!”

“Best food in Lompoc and Vandenberg Base. I got the sinsing, lumpia, noodles and garlic rice. All around applause. Sinsing was not overly salty or fatty which allowed flavors to come through. The lumpia jad a fantastic crisp and the chili sauce they provide is a fantastic compliment. Not overly sweet, not overly salty and not overly savory. Wonderful balance. Well prepared garlic rice that had nice crispy bits of garlic. I been here for two weeks trying to find a place deserving of my money and calories. This is the best meal I have had during my visit.”

“I’ve been going to the Budget Cafe in Lompoc for over 30 years and it cooks up the same delicious food every time I’ve been there. The waitress is one of the best you could ask for. The ambiance is old school and a welcome site for sore eyes. I hope to be coming here for a long time. BTW the food is cooked fast and the quality of the meals are done to your liking. The eggs and vegetables are farm fresh. You won’t go wrong stopping her for any of the many items on the menu.”

“I don’t like to say don’t go there because you may order items that are very good even though my last two visits were not tasty. Years ago it was my go to place. I ordered an omelette yesterday and it was rubbery and tasteless. The potatoes had some burn and that likely affected the taste. My brother said the same thing about his patty melt.”

“I was very pleasantly surprised by this place. I never trust reviews fully, but I was craving Thai. I spent 2 months travelling around Thailand, and fell in love with the food. This isn't as good, but the Pad Kaprow came close. The only negative I have is the egg was a little over cooked. A small gripe, but otherwise the flavor was fantastic. It doesn't say it on the menu, but it does come with rice.

My spouse got the Pineapple Curry, and seemed to enjoy it quite a bit too.

For a random restaurant we chose while passing through town, I would recommend.”

“Their soup is really special here. I especially enjoy their Albondigas. Caldo de Res was authentic as well. Whenever my friends are sick, I bring them takeout albondigas.

My fiancé had a whole fried fish which was nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Their flan has a delicate texture. They often have a birria special which I look forward to trying. The atmosphere is welcoming with traditional decor!

Side-note: my friend has a fish allergy so is weary of seafood restaurants. The staff is accommodating and she’s never had a reaction here indicating that their kitchen is very clean and they don’t cross contaminate their dishes.”

“4 stars because the kitchen staff frequently messes up my order, which is rough because I always have pay extra for the avocados and guacamole even when they forget. Seeing Tommy at the window is a relief. He always checks my bag. Last time I ordered online, he noticed and fixed 2 mistakes the kitchen made before he handed me the bag. It's always nice to see him there because it takes the pressure off of me having to ask and double-check everything myself (which makes me feel like an annoying customer). Tommy is a champion.
