“This meal was the highlight of our LA trip! I don’t know what kind of sorcery is afoot here but this little spot manages to be so much more than the sum of its parts. I felt so welcomed from the moment I stepped through the door and I liked that they have you order and pay before sitting down, it makes the dining experience more relaxing and low key. Loved how short and sweet the menu was, the chef has incredible restraint and a crystal clear vision. Every single thing we had was incredible, the best hk french toast and bolo bao I have ever had, and omg the scallion roll and dumplings. I don’t know what it is about this place but I’m still thinking about that meal days later. Also, the dining room made me feel like I was in a tvb serial from the early 90s which is the highest compliment.“

“Open Market catered a wedding reception I was coordinating in October, and they were wonderful. Their restaurant is one of the bride's favorites, and they were great. The food is delicious, and I'm working on getting my husband over there soon. They couldn't have been more accommodating and flexible during the planning, and they were straight pros at the reception. As a planner, I love caterers that are easy to work with and easy for my couple's to work with, and it was a great experience for everyone.

“Guerrilla Cafecito is a great breakfast burrito joint & coffee house from the team behind Guerrilla Taco. The GTLA (steak & papas) breakfast burrito is the best in the city. Tortillas from Mejorado, so you already know. My only complaint… a little stingy on the salsa. But it’s 2024, so bidenomics and whatnot. I get it. But don’t let that stop you. The burritos here are out of this world.“

Bodega sando was perfection! Pastries were alright...most looked better than they tasted. I'd say they were good but not great.“

“Too hip for words. 2 story early 20th century firehouse converted into a boutique hotel on the second floor and a full-blown restaurant and bar on the main floor. Just look for the giant red wooden fire engine bay doors.Tried two dishes for lunch. Farro and quinoa salad with shaved brussel sprouts and pistachios. It was a bit dry, lacking in flavor and the portion was on the small side. The other dish was a roasted beet and red pepper sandwich. Good flavors and balance on a ciabatta bun. It was served with a small salad whose dressing was way too pungent.High marks for atmosphere and service, just fair on the food.“

“Definitely go for the coffee. Delicious speciality lattes, albeit much smaller than you would expect.

Ordered food on here on a few occasions and its ridiculously overpriced. Remembered getting grits and a coffee and it was the most underwhelming $30 I’ve ever spent. Chicken sandwich is slightly better though if you want to drop $18 on a little sandwich.“

“Saw this place recommended on Eater. Came in when i saw Frank La won the 2024 US Barista Championship. Tried the Vivid Cream Latte and on first sip was highly impressed with flavor. Worked in the shop for awhile. Good vibes on the interior with a small play area for kids and modern music (at an appropriate level)“

“Most unusual brunch with chef driven latkes deep fried to look like rye bread. Pickled lox was purple along with crème fresh and capers. Very filling. . . Only thing was the outside chairs were metal and needed cushions. Find used hotel chairs. Otherwise it was great. Bravo“

“They have large variety of options on the menu and keep improving the menu as well. The ambience as well as the service is great. I had order the veggie breakfast (replaced eggs with hash potato) along with matcha latte, and it was amazing. Would highly recommend it.

“I was in the area and so glad to check this cafe out! The customer service was excellent! The pastries were extremely delicious! I got a pastry with apricots and a croissant with Nutella and fruits, and they were both amazing! I also got a dish with eggs i enjoyed very much! I ate everything before I took a pic 😅. “I had the egg sandwich and it was delicious. The steamed egg had a great texture, green sauce was delish, and on tartine bread perfect. I recently tried the egg sandwich at the Santa Monica location and it was pretty bland compared to this one. Staff was super friendly and helpful also! Cool playlist - helped the vibe“

“Overall, a nice & chill Thai restaurant. Great food, nicely served.

I don’t go often to Thai spots, since this one was on my list, I was looking forward to try!

We came on a Sunday for a lunch and it was pretty quiet. We sat outside. They had a few good options, we got Thai dumplings (chicken & veggies), chicken satay, pad thai and pad see ew.

The starts were good. The chicken satay with that peanut sauce was delicious.
The pad thai and pad see ew had really nice portions for us - maybe having starters helped make us full faster. But, i still felt like portions were generous. The food was tasty, good in my opinion. Again, not an expert here but it was to my taste.

We left the place satisfied, so I would definitely recommend for anyone around to try. Easy and simple Thai restaurant.“

“My husband and I came here for breakfast, and we were looking forward to trying espresso and croissants.

Overall, we’re very pleased with their croissant. We thought it was the best croissant we had tried while visiting LA for a short period of time.

We ordered:
2 Espresso

Price-wise, it was okay. The waiting time also was decent. Great coffee and fresh, tasty, and great quality of croissant. We noticed they served everything on the go or for takeaway instead of in a proper cup or plate. Other than that, satisfied customers. Happy to recommend 🤗😀“

“i had an incredible experience at this brunch spot! the service was top-notch. very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. the food came out surprisingly fast, which was a pleasant surprise, and everything i ordered was absolutely delicious. 10s across the board on the food! i ordered the “you make me wake up happy” meal. the food had so much flavor, and the presentation was beautiful too. highly recommend for anyone looking for a yummy brunch outing. i’ll definitely be back here again!“

“Excellent Mexican ( Oaxacan) food in Mar Vista. The food was delicious and nicely presented & service was friendly and attentive. We sat outside at a picnic table, which is fun in warm weather. There are several Oaxacan businesses in the area. Diversity like this is what makes LA great.“

“Maybe the best cinnamon roll I have ever had. Not overly sweet, or too buttery, or yeasty. Cooked enough and perfectly balanced. The Chai latte was just right. Very rich in flavor, very nice tea. Not too hot either. Staff is friendly and the place is well kept. Good music as well.“

“Their matcha is definitely better than most if not all places in LA; the fragrance of the matcha tea flavour was nice and distinct thought not strong; still pretty creamy overall. The salted foam on the matcha spanner is delicious.
Their breakfast sliders were delicious, mostly because of the sauces and freshness.
Be prepared to wait in line 30-60+ mins on weekends, especially with the rhode collaboration happening this month. We waited just about an hour last weekend when the line ended right around the end of the block.“

“Modern, clean cafe with yummy Asian inspired treats. We got their chocolate mochi brownie, miso cinnamon roll, and cream bun.

All were delicious, but the mochi brownie was our favorite. The miso perfectly complements the cinnamon roll and the roll still tastes sweet. The cream bun was so soft and not too sweet.

Street parking available nearby. Cafe has good seating, high ceilings, and modern decor.“

“We are in town to go to Universal, and staying at the Garland Hotel. We ordered this food via DoorDash. We put allergy alert in the notes and I immediately got a call with them telling me the item we ordered had our allergen. They quickly worked with us to figure out an alternative way to prepare the meal. Our food delivered quickly and OMG. Best food we’ve had since we arrived. Maple chicken sandwich 🤤, the homemade pickles were amazing, our kids enjoyed their food (breakfast burrito and sandwich) and the Chinese chicken salad was top notch. I feel like I’m being dramatic but I’d eat that Maple chicken sandwich for a birthday meal 🤣 thank you to the staff for preparing a delicious healthy dinner for us even though it was via DoorDash, it tasted like we were sitting in the restaurant. Next time we are here we’ll come visit in person. 5 ⭐️ for service and food!“
