“Bartender Brian was fun for my brother and me to hang with on a Saturday afternoon after just getting into town for the Chiefs at 49ers game on Sunday. Really wanted to go back but didn't make it work - will most definitely go back again if in San Jose/Japantown! The price per person includes a few beverages and highly recommended (which became obvious WHY) pizza and the Duchess sandwich from nearby J-Town Pizza! Absolutely delicious and ate the leftovers for every meal between Saturday and Monday morning! Thank you, Brian, for your hospitality and local's recommendations!! The patio has all new furniture and the inside is fully renovated in a very smart style. The beer cooler is gone so the beer selection is more limited than before, but they offer a short list of cocktails and wine. Would like to see some non-alcoholic options, which the menu is lacking.“

“Amazing chicken sandwiches but a mediocre experience that isn't worth the price.

The sandwiches themselves were excellent - spice level 5 deliveries a flavorful firey punch, similar to "hot" at Hotboys but with more flavor and bigger sandwiches. The seasoned fries have a fun spiral shape and show off the delicious house seasoning. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese seems to just be Velveeta shells reheated in the microwave. They serve their purpose as a foil to the spicy sandwiches, and you can add more flavor by pouring the seasoning from the bottom of your fry basket. But they deserve a better sauce to complement the high quality chicken (shredded cheese, perhaps?).

The atmosphere was disappointing. You have to shout across the counter to order because the music is LOUD. And there weren't any fans or air conditioning to make the inside temperature more bearable during this heat wave.

Considering the experience, the pricing is steep. A chicken sandwich with seasoned fries is $22, soda is $2.50 (no refills), and tax is $2.30. Add a tip and you're approaching $30 per person! ? For that money, I think I'd rather go to a nicer restaurant.

“What a blast. I went down to Beefy's last night with my wife and a friend of ours for a dart tournament. There were at least 40 people chucking darts. Everyone was very welcoming as the dart community usually is. TBH, I got a little clostrophobic as there was nowhere to move after each throw. It was packed. Too many tables and chairs in the way The tournament was played on 5 boards simultaneously, and they have a practice board inside and outside. The boards were all lit very well with LED surrounds, and we used the provided tablets with DartsConnect app for scoring. Some people brought snacks to share. Priced seemed a little high ($8 Modelo draft) on drinks, but what bar isn't nowadays. There is plenty of parking in front and back. League Darts on Thursdays and tournaments on Saturdays. Overall, I had a very nice experience there and will definitely be returning.“

“We went here for St Patrick's Day and it did not disappoint. In fact we loved it because it wasn't as crowded as we were afraid it was going to be, but it definitely was alive and happening. Great service and great down to earth atmosphere.My only major complaint was they did not take credit cards. I get they want to keep the cost down, but considering the drinks were so inexpensive, just bump the price up $1 to make even more money. We were having so much fun, but we had to leave because we ran out of cash. “Aloft Sunnyvale on its own is good enough value for money spent. However, what truly stood out was the customer ser ice of its front desk. Shoutout to Michelle for helping me out a ton when I was trying to extend my stay. No excuses were made and she found a way to get it done even under difficult circumstances. Roy was also great with the room upgrade when he saw that I had brought a friend and might have needed a bigger bed. 10/10 Customer Service!“
